For those not completely aware of big finish, this is awesome on many levels 1: Leela was living on gallifrey for decades before big finish even began covering the gallifrey series and through that series we know she was there when the time war was officially declared so by now she's got decades if not centuries of experience 2: the ONLY reason she fights for gallifrey is to protect Romana, who was locked in a pocket dimension. The fact that she still stands with gallifrey up to it's final day means she technically outlasted both races in the war 3: despite being considered lesser in the eyes of gallifrey, she lasted long enough to be conferred respect befitting (possibly) a military rank There are few characters, much less companions, who can claim to have outlasted the time lords and daleks in the time war, and she did so more or less by being a direct combatant and fighting to the end
So does that mean that Romana might have a chance to return? It’d definitely be interesting if she became aware of the Timeless Child after becoming Madame President.

Theory: Leela teleported on board of the Fourth Doctor's TARDIS while he was in Gallifrey's lower atmosphere working on his calculations to save Gallifrey.
Greatest companions: Leela definable, Sara Jane without question, but Ace and Donna ??? greatest ??? You are stretching that a bit. Donna was scared of her own shadow. I would say Adric, Romanna1 and Romanna2 and Susan were better companions.
I just love how they've been updating us with the fate of old companions like this. As a side note, in another video, NuWho fans were debating the use of seasons vs series without realizing they were called "seasons" back in the day. lol
Doctor Who wasn't referred to in 'seasons' until the 80s. There are no original documents that even name 'season 22' or whatever from the time anyway. It's all been done retrospectively.
The implication that it wasnt just any Doctor who retrieved her, it was 4. Either that or 11 or 12 Decided to send her to 4s TARDIS while the Doctors were circling Galifrey. Thats the only headcanon i will accept XD
Due to a variety of reasons it was either going to be Season 15, 21 or 25 for the next collection and while I am a bit disappointed that we didn't get the 25th anniversary season to tie in with the 60th anniversary celebrations, Season 15 is still hugely underrated (although the less said about Underworld the better).
I love Louise Jameson in Emmerdale so when I found out she played leela in doctor who which I already loved and still love it makes me love her even more
I remember reading an interview with Louise in a Doctor Who magazine. She said, if I remember correctly, that she was so upset for not being asked back for The Five Doctors that she would only return if they made her the Doctor. I think that she would have been excellent.
Before Leela whipped out the Dalek gun, I was thinking "gonna need some bigger Janis Thorns". :) Also, I approve of the Time War Dalek casing with a silvery-grey finish. Is this the first time we've seen that depicted?
Leela is my favourite ever companion. I’ve always thought Jameson perfectly captured the heightened sense of theatricality the show actorly needs, married it to characterful realism and perfectly pitched it for her portrayal of this fearless Warrior of The Sevateem. There was always a janis-thorn stabbing, jungle pungent hint of the Shakespearean lead about Leela, the young warrior, a prince among women. Louse is staggeringly all of that in this gorgeously written/visualised vignette, the best of the Blu-ray batch yet. This is Leela the lead, the fighter queen doubling as a bellowing, tragedian king, a perfect blend of heightened and natural. At long last we get her televisually facing off the Daleks and who better a companion to do just that? I love the fear Leela’s pushes to the back of her eyes to confidently confront the enemy in front of them. There’s something about fear presenting fearless making it more excitingly powerful. I desperately want Leela in the new series with Ncuti.
Tom Baker is the best incarnation perfectly capturing those alien elements of the character. His personality and outfit with the scarf are a perfect fit.
And after all these years, she's still the Leela we all know and love. Kudos to Louise Jameson for flawlessly stepping back into character

Same here. Leela and Sarah Jane were the first two companions I saw in Doctor Who when I was a kid and they were both wonderful.
We need to see more of her in a mini series where we can get Pre Time War set up and with McGann as the Doctor getting us up to his regeneration to Hurts Doctor.
When Louise says she's Leela from the Sevateem tribe it gave me chills! Love this so much!
Thank you BBC! This is what I wanted (Season 15 Blu-Ray with Louise Jameson doing the promo as Leela!!)
You just know Nick Briggs is writing up ideas for an old Leela with 4 boxset at this moment
This was an absolute amazing performance from louise jameson & brilliant writing from Peter McTighe i am so excited for the Season 15 collection boxset
This trailer was BRILLIANT. Leela during the Time War was something I didn’t know I wanted to see, until now. I want MORE.
She could carry a series, she has the presence!
Let me point to Big Finish, where she is part of the Gallifrey Time War range and has to work with Sir Derek Jacobi’s War Master in one episode (aptly titled The Devil You Know).
You can in the Gallifrey audio series, if you don't know about it. They're on like S14 of it or something now.... Plenty of stories about Leela, Romana, and Narvin fighting the Daleks and even the Timelords.
This is awesome finally Leela in the Time War!
For a minisode the effort in the costumes, effects, writing and acting is brilliant.
Big Finish have had Leela in the time war for some time now.
An amazing trailer, Loise is always so good in the role. Love the production values as well. Looking forward to adding this to the Collection.
It is a real New Year present to see Leela again
Absolutely fantastic as always. The quality of every aspect of this is phenomenal. Can't wait.
Wow that was amazing and for a short little scene, it looks incredible. Always loved Leela in classic who and Louise Jameson still makes the character a bad ass.
What a return!!!
Can’t wait for more great Doctor Who content from this channel!!!
These new Doctor Who home video promos are always so impressive.
Leela is one of my favorite classic Who companions. Cheers....
Wow this is brilliant, the best one yet…..Leela is finally back & how good is Louise Jameson in this trailer!
This is the BEST kind of fan service. Beautifully put together and always a pleasure to see the wonderful Louise! BBC - please find a way to get the Doctor Who range back at retail in Australia!
Honestly whoever makes these short films deserves a raise. It could just be a trailer of 70s footage for the box sets but NAH! THEY GO ALL OUT AND GIVE US THESE GORGEOUS LIL FILMS!
Theory: Leela teleported on board of the Fourth Doctor's TARDIS while he was in Gallifrey's lower atmosphere working on his calculations to save Gallifrey.
I loved Leela. Smart, brave and yet kind.
Leela is one of the greatest companions ever she up there with Sarah Jane, Ace and Donna
I always did have a crush on ace
Greatest companions: Leela definable, Sara Jane without question, but Ace and Donna ??? greatest ??? You are stretching that a bit. Donna was scared of her own shadow. I would say Adric, Romanna1 and Romanna2 and Susan were better companions.
@@solomonkane6442 inappropriate.
@@mrgcav schoolboy crush so it's not inappropriate
This is inadvertedly a War Doctor story and I'm here for it
I met her at a convention in St. Louis, Missouri, long long ago. Her eyes are ice blue and beautiful to see in person.
I just love how they've been updating us with the fate of old companions like this.
As a side note, in another video, NuWho fans were debating the use of seasons vs series without realizing they were called "seasons" back in the day. lol
Some folks just like to gripe… and I fully agree with all you said.
In the UK we've always referred to "series". "Seasons" is an Americanism.
It looked like they updated the effects for Fang Rock in this trailer. Couldn’t tell with other episodes though.
Was there any footage from Underworld in this trailer? Seems like YANA in preferring it unmentioned.
It's stuff like this that makes me want a "Doctor Who: Legacy" series more than ever, loved it.
To see Leela again- yay! I absolutely loved this! 👏🏻👏🏻
"I am a warrior of the Sevateem and of Gallifrey!!" Leela's courage never faltered or wavered, not one iota.
YES!! These mini episode promo's are awesome, wish they could expand on them a bit more. Classic stuff
Leela never had a Dalek story on screen so this was overdue
Every single time i hear "This is Gallifrey" in what ever rendition i get chills.
The wonderful noise she made after hearing about the doctor broke my heart! :)
Yet another stone cold classic video to promote these sets. Great job all of you!
Still got an amazing presence on screen Louise.
Great to see that Horror of Fang Rock is getting the updated effects. It is by far the best story of the season.
Oh Leela, wow, I didn't expect that, so gooooooooooooooood ! Love this era. Leela/K9 was the hell of a crew.
This is the best trailer. I’ve rewatched it several times.
These mini-sodes just keep getting better and better! ❤
Also, I approve of the Time War Dalek casing with a silvery-grey finish. Is this the first time we've seen that depicted?
Imagine they were like “um Leela can you wear these brown contacts again?” 😂
Louise: "The contacts are fine, the bikini heck no!"
The CGI looks _absolutely_ brilliant
Such a great and unexpected treat for Leela to return! PLEASE let this be there be more to come with Leela!!!
I'm glad we finally get to see what Leela was up to during that Time War.
Tom Baker is the best incarnation perfectly capturing those alien elements of the character. His personality and outfit with the scarf are a perfect fit.
Nice dalek colour schemes! Hope we see them in the show
I love this, brings me right back to the feelings I had watching mini episodes in 2013!
So excited, every one of these boxsets have been utterly magnificent and a massive treat to fans. I can’t wait.
At first I was like “is that leela? And then I heard her voice and said “yup that’s my girl” I can’t wait to show my dad this, he grew up with leela.
I love the return of old who so much🎉
This season started a bit before my 4th birthday and I remember loving Doctor Who at that point, to go back and visit these episodes is brilliant
