Thank you for sharing your story. Nothing good comes from war. Both sides lose loved-ones….for what?
People in power don’t agree with who the other people worship?!! It doesn’t make anyone right or wrong, it just makes them different.
As long as a person’s beliefs don’t harm anyone, what difference does it REALLY make?! If a person’s beliefs get them through a difficult time, or brings them comfort and joy….that’s what matters.
There’s enough room on this planet for everyone.
I saw a show one time where the host would invite people from opposing countries to break bread together. There was some tense moments, with acceptance….all things are possible. Sharing a meal, or your home, is the kindest thing you can do for other living beings.
      Im still hopeful….😢

I am a female disabled veteran with PTSD. Music is my best friend and I believe it has prevented me from committing suicide. This true hero has admitted his truth and it’s the only thing that can make you feel free again. Truth is wicked but necessary. I was a corpsman who did not see combat but experienced Military Sexual Trauma multiple times and I realize after victory with my claim #iamvanessaguillen recently during the psych exam that I have been manic for over 33 years. If the general public could just once step foot into a VA facility they would be shocked at what they see. The malpractice I personally have witnessed is appalling. My father a Korean vet also recently passed and reality is we get $300 for a dead sailor who died from mesothelioma all for his country.
It’s insane the stories we all have but most of all I am grateful to God to allow s to live another day of victory and triumph. Rob I am glad you are not one of the 22 a day we loose to suicide. There are many triggers that can test us , but you are changing lives by telling your story. Thank you for letting us in. Semper Fi Anchors away IGY6 Dental Doc 1988-1996

Did not expect the amazing piano performance at the end. You never know what ppl have unbelievable natural talents. You would never know that The men or women you work with on a daily basis have some sort of talent. Because most ppl just casually get thru life without really sharing anything about themselves. Work consumes ppl and you really just begin to think, “This is what life is all about”… but nope not at all. Life is about being surprised with things like this from the least ppl you’d imagine.

PTSD is made worse by traditional talk therapy. Our autonomous nervous system doesn't differentiate between talking about trauma and the actual trauma. This interview was probably extremely triggering for him. I wish him the very best. He seems to instinctually found something that does help and is a big part of trauma therapy called DBT. You can use sensory tools to disrupt the body and mind from the trauma response. Things like putting your hand in ice or putting on music, as long as it's not triggering in itself. You wouldn't want to play music that you relate to the trauma or love songs when you're dealing with a break up. Everyone has to find their own thing that they can use. For me it's rocks. If I'm having anxiety and the fight or flight response is activated I will go rockhounding. The hiking releases the fight/flight response and focusing on finding cool rocks diverts my attention. If I'm having intrusive thoughts researching something interesting helps. Trauma causes physical changes to rhe brain. There was a study done that showed that learning new things helps heal the brain so it makes sense that playing the piano and learning to play better helps him!

Good Morning Good People!👋😕or whatever time it is in your part of the world. Peace!, Love!, and Respect! from a chilly 50° 6:40am Brooklyn morning, to you and wherever in the world🌍 you are, my SWU fam…and if that part of the world happens to be Palestine, hang in there, every bit of my anti colonist Irish Heart is with you💚, and also Ukraine.
Respect to the regular Citizen of Israel and Russia too.
And lastly BIG RESPECT!🫡 to you Rob, and all Veterans, you’ve all seen all this already. Same sh**, different war…huh. I guess that’s just the way it goes.
