  • Welcome back to the channel
In this weeks video I show you how to replace rear struts on a 2007 Subaru Forester 2.5 L SOHC bolted to an automatic. This is definitely a job that you can do in the driveway provided you watch the full length video and take the necessary precautions. Hopefully you find the video entertaining as well as informative, if you do please hit that subscribe button to support my work.
As always thank you for watching we will see you in the next one...

Just wanted to thank you for this video. Helped me do the same task the other day. This was very helpful.
Hope the sweatshop keeps on generating more how-to videos!

“Oh that’s a lot of rust fuck” was the same reaction I had doing the struts on my 01 this weekend lol

Awesome video man. I like your humor!
Would you advice buying a good looking 2007 forester 2.0x that runs on liquid gas?
The car I'm interested in as done about 200.000km. Do these cars do well on liquid gas?

    Great job! Hello from Russia!
I have Subaru Forester SG6 2003 (USDM) and now I have same problems with rear part -- time has taken its toll :(((
I can see from many videos that your cars are rusting just as badly. What's that about? Is it the salty climate or winter chemicals? We have this kind of thing mostly in St. Petersburg and Moscow (and nearest regions).
By the way, to improve loosening of nuts I advise you to use penetrating oil (WD-40 or something like that).

Hey my friend thank you for viewing the video. I'm glad you found it relatable. Where I am in Canada it is definitely winter chemicals or salt that is used that causes the rust that we have unfortunately most times WD-40 won't do the trick. If you can't use Heat sometimes WD-40 can help however I find there are chemicals or chemical sprays that you can use that dissolve rust that help quite a bit it takes quite a while but that usually works.

@@JimmysAutoClinic yap, gas torch and imact wrench is rules! But in combine this im use WD-40 for easier unscrewing of off nuts.
For external preservation of suspension nuts I use lithium grease or "Gun Grease" (probably in Canada there is something similar - it is something like paraffin wax with corrosion inhibitors). And in heat-loaded places - universal grease for brake systems "MC1600", for example.
Gun grase is still good to blow compressor in spars and hidden cavities - in summer under the action of capillary forces it spreads on all contacting planes and covers all iron with a greasy water-repellent layer.

swapping from impreza 2007 to forester strut on an impreza does it matter if you use an impreza spring on a forester strut

Yes it will affect the height of your vehicle. Also the Forester strut is longer, depending upon what you're trying to achieve it may be helpful to you but if you're looking just to do a stock replacement is definitely not the way to go.
