Incredible talent for color sense. I don't understand how you can put blue, crimson and dark brown on a white canvas while looking at an orange landscape. And then bam, it all fell into place! It's amazing!

I love your iconic stance when you crouch down slightly, both hands out in front of you, then you pause, looking at the scene and then getting your first lines down. It’s like you’re about to cast a spell and create some magic…which of course, you do! Love it x
G'day Richard, the outback turning it on once again. To the casual observer there is not much to see I guess but as always, once the day progresses and the light changes, the scene appears dramatic. How best to capture it? the Musgrave-Evans way of course with it's attention to contrast and atmosphere. Those ranges caught beautifully with their repetitive but distinct character within a cocoon of bluish haze as they recede. The foreground painted with restraint, knowing when to stop very important in this type of scene. The focus is the tree pulling the eye toward the ranges. Another insightful learning experience and enjoyable watch mate. You deliver everytime . Cheers, Rich

Wow, a magnificent composition with this tree in the foreground which gives all the immensity of the landscape; a splendid sky as always; and when we look more closely, we could believe that it is the Sainte Victoire mountain of Cézanne, with more modernity and more audacity in the touches of colors. Bravo Richard, another great success.😊👏👏
The wide angle lens distortion made me think that the tree was in the centre of the composition the whole time you were painting.. up until the frontal shot at the end. Then i went “Aaahh” 😂 Great painting as always, Richard..
That's the eye wanting to pull everything in. Sometimes if you paint or draw something on a flat surface and then try to hang it up it won't satisfy unless it is hung in a high place.

Sometimes seeing you painting I think: the paint is done, nothing more is necessaire (at 36")! Now just sit in front of it and enjoy the work.
