Thank you!! I knew the fabric had to be cut in the arc like that, but I couldn't figure out how to measure it. This is so easy! Can't wait to make a lampshade to match my grandson's nursery!
Best tutorial, simple, concise & informative without all the frou frou. Didn't have any problem hearing, either, even with the music. Maybe CC will help? Thank you for the demo!
While it's a great tutorial, that background music is far too loud for us older folks.I never could figure out why folks doing tutorials even need to have background music. We watch the videos because we are interested in what you have to say,and we want to learn new ways of doing things..Thank you for doing this, and i hope the powers that be will take not having music,or softer music into consideration.
@@jennifermcquarrie6816 Well that would defeat the purpose of watching now wouldn't it??? You're going to get older someday,if you don't believe me ask your grandparents..Hope they don't let you talk to them with disrespect, and remember, what goes around ,comes around!!! Just sayin'.
@@daviskathi1233 Hardly anyone raises their kids right these days, and IT SHOWS doesn't it? I think your comment about the volume of the music is right on. I'm not THAT old, but I had a hard time hearing her talk as well. Kudos on you for being so nice to that rude kid.
@@jennifermcquarrie6816 Muting the video means that we can’t hear her at all. What a great solution! 🙄 I’m not old but the music made her sound muffled. That tutorial was great it was all explained very well and simply I now think I know what i am doing when covering my lamp shade , I didnt have a clue before I thought I had to sew the fabric first Duh!!!!
Thank you for the tutorial. You make it look very easy. Perhaps my shade was slightly warped, but every time I rolled my shade back and forth it never followed the same path. After one failed attempt I cut a much wider path than the width of the shade. I ended up with an irregular and too big overlap, but I was able to trim it with an exacto knife.
Great tutorial! I have a lampshade that is showing its age. I have 2 problems. One, I found the right sized shade but it cost $60. Two, I found shades for $20 but not the right size. It just occurred to me to recover it. I’ll try your method! Thanx for the info.
Hi Sohel, the adhesive is 3M Super 77 Multipurpose Spray Adhesive (www.onlinefabricstore.net/3m-super-77-multipurpose-spray-adhesive-16-75-oz-.htm). The packaging has changed since this video, but it's the same stuff!
Hi larusa4! We used Suburban Home Lana Aqua Fabric--it's a drapery fabric that would work well for pillows (you can find it here www.onlinefabricstore.net/suburban-home-lana-aqua-fabric-.htm). Most fabrics you would use for making a pillow cover would work great! Since you can use a wide range of fabric for pillows, I’ll also add that lighter weight fabrics (like drapery and quilting cottons) in light colors would let the most light through, while heavy fabrics (like upholstery fabric) would block a lot of light. And the methods in the tutorial should work on a square lampshade too :) Thanks so much for watching!
I enjoyed watching this video, you make it looks very simple to do, thanks. I have two cardboard lampshades that I thought of binning but may try this tutorial. I agree with another viewer that this music is too loud which is not only distracting but makes it hard to hear your instructions. Turning down the volume is not the answer as this obviously means your voice/instructions would not be heard!

Perfectly done video! Ty
Every video of lampshade recover is of putting fabric over fabric?? Can I have a video where there is just a wire frame and see the process?
Thank you - I think I can actually do this!
Hi! Is it possible to do something like this with a dome shaped lamp?
Very well explained. Only, what if there is only a bare frame? Also, the more material you use, the less light through the lamp.
THANK YOU!!
Great tutorial!

You are beautiful as your way of talking and teaching.
Thank you this was cute and simple.
Great job
Thank you!😊
How do you cover a lamp frame which has no cover?
I would recommend going to your local thrift store and picking up a frame that you like the shape of, and then just recovering it with new fabric.
@@onlinefabricstore I already have a lamp shade but I want to recover it because the old cover rotted away.
Would the hot glue beads show when the light is on?
Thank you

Does the fabric need to be flame resistant? Also, is the fabric glue and hot glue okay to use on an often used lamp???
Not a problem.
Really appreciate if you could tell me the name and type of spray you used.

Hi, good video. What kind of glue did you use?
Mary Espinal We used 3M Super 77 Multipurpose Spray Adhesive: www.onlinefabricstore.net/3m-super-77-multipurpose-spray-adhesive-16-75-oz-.htm
What about larger lamp shades thicker material, can we still use the same product that you used?
What glue was used
Spray on glue. Read the can for the brand.
will the fabric dim the light?
+Felisha Brown Yes, it will dim the light somewhat if it's a light colored lightweight fabric and a lot if it's a dark, heavy fabric.
How much fabric did you use?? :)
1 yard of fabric was just enough for this shade.
Sooo easyyy
Great audio
Excellent instructions...for those who find music too loud...easy fix...turn down volume!!!!!
