Nice! That's the key to these starter lights, blow it up on the cheap and then reap the rewards. Upgrade if needed later.

Need advice, I have a new 4x2 tent & now for the light. I will do tomatoes from seed in the tent then to the greenhouse and finally to outdoor gardens in June. I am considering 1 Mars SP150 to start with for seedlings and veg stage. I know it's on the small side but I did start around 60 plants last year without a tent with a $24 led shop light. It was slow going but the SP150 should be like a giant step forward. I may add another SP150 to the tent later to fully utilize the 4x2. The SP2000 just seems like more than I need because I'm not doing a total start to finish grow, they will finish in the greenhouse and in the raised beds. Thanks
Thanks man. I’m tossing up what’s good budget for a 2x4. I’ve got the BP1000 & a TS600 going atm’ in the 2x4. But been looking at either this one, the Vipar 2500 or the TSL2000 - although the TSL is pretty pricey for my budget. Was thinking of just trying this one. But since you admit that it’s prob only suitable for a 2x3, now I’m kinda back to square one
Update: Been running the Bloom Plus XP2500 (updated version of the BP2500), dimmer and moso driver detached and on top of tent.
Together with the BP1000 in the 2x4 flowering 3 girls. 4wks to go and they’re looking and smelling overwhelming for price of the product(s). Although admittedly, 350∓ watts in a 2x4 is pretty much the limit I’d wanna push… also have co2 supplemented

Yes, go with the 3000 . The 4000 will make too much heat unless you are running a 300cfs inline fan.
I have a SF2000 but I upgraded to a 4x4 tent so I decided to get another light. I ordered a BP2500 to go along with the spiderfarmer. Would it be ok if I plugged both lights into a powerbar, then plug that power bar into a timer, then the wall? Would that be alright?
Yeah that's all good. I do that with my lights and 1 of my fans to control them all on the same timer. How do the two lights compare? sf200 vs BP2500
@@dropinbiking92 Havent had them long. They are pretty similar in size, the 2500 goes up to 250w maybe more, but it is also runs warmer.
The dimmer knob on the spider farmer is nice, the BP2500 you have to use a screwdriver to adjust, but its not that big of a deal, you just need a very small screwdriver.
I noticed that the silicone coating on the spider is starting to get yellow, heard thats a problem with the newer boards. Im gonna keep an eye on that for a bit.
Im still new to this so cant really compare them to other types of lights.
@@bob-rob Do they look like yellowish goldish "burn" blotches? I'd like to know more about that. If it's just the waterproof coating breaking down and seperating that's all good, I read some people mention that and made it sound like the board itself was burning up, it wasn't making sense.
I can get a REALLY cheap brand new BP2500 from bloom plus. I know they have the newer XP series, there are Vipar and Spider farmer lights, but I can get this particular BP2500 for like 1/3 the price. I just want to make sure it's not going to die in 1 grow if I keep it running cool and dialed down.
@@dropinbiking92 Its like a yellowing thats probably from heat buring the silicone. Im not scared about it burning up or anything. Im pretty sure its just the coating.
About the BP2500. Its a low price and I took the gamble. Cant say if its worth it cuz Ive only had it about a month now lol
Its a gamble, but looking at reviews and such, it should be alright
I use them T5 LED STICK LIGHTS with 3 settings of light source as misc lights to work with my main grow bulb . Place the misc T5 lights on lower sides of opposite ends with main light on top. Its working very well as misc light options. My plant reacts well as the lower part of plant caught up with top of plant ...
Using as misc lights is best use as how I place them gives a prism effect . Only 18$
Those led sticks are usually not that great compared to what they cost but if you get enough of them they'll work.
@@Justintime2grow My dog chewed off the lower Kola stems to the stem without the head. Did some brain storming and got them LEDs just for the need to see if they will grow back. Yeah, as misc lights it did the job in 3 to 5 days Kolas stems grew back same size as top.... Great lights as misc light options and planning to buy more to use as..

PSA: Light is not even on the longer 2500, it's brighter on one end. Most "2x4" 140w grow lights distribute power from the middle out by using 2 120w boards. When you PAR tested this light, you did so from the side receiving power. I bought the light and it took a few days before I noticed the uneven light distribution.

Luckyberry lk2000 is making some bold claims on their ppfd chart, by bold i mean uniform 1100 average and nothing under 900 across a 2x3... @18inches. For $230 delivered that'll either be stupidly good value or stupidly good bullshitting with not one review.
