I love your video so much and I can’t explain how much they help me!!! Do you think you could make a video where you just say everything will be okay and how to deal with nervousness around exams?!
hello udoka! lovely video. i’m in year 11 at the moment and i really need advice. like you mentioned there is an overwhelming amount of content. i did not do much revision in year 10 and now i am really scared for mocks and actual exams. how do i manage all these subjects? i’m an average student i don’t have motivation much of the time to revise i ALWAYS procrastinate which lowers my self esteem too. people around me are quite smart whereas i even struggle to do basic maths. please suggest something that could help. thank you💗
Okay so i'm not Udoka but let me suggest something and can you tell me if it works for you? So first off, ask yourself why you want to learn and pass GCSEs/IGCSEs. Write atleast 3-5 reasons. You can do more if you like. Paste these reasons somewhere you see everyday, it's something I feel really pushes up my motivation. For procrastination, i'd suggest getting a study buddy. Someone who will hold you accountable and can help you if you feel unsure about a topic(it's always better to ask teachers but sometimes classmates/friends just explain it better). Personally, studying in a public place like a library or at home somewhere around my parents usually lets me push myself the extra mile when studying because I don't want to be caught slacking. When it comes to maths, i'd say it's quite helpful when revising if you explain in words how and why certain questions are answered the way they are. Hope this helps!
Hi X-ray hads, I am a year 12 student, and at GCSEs I got all 9s. In terms of advice, I would suggest that since you are already in year 11 and are unlikely to make very effective active recall questions/flash cards, considering you have mocks coming up, it would be seriously advisable to look into pre-made flash cards, I have heard the CGP ones are good. But please don’t be silly and start to just rely on the flash cards. First read the textbook, and understand each and every part of it, DO NOT TAKE ANY SHORT-CUTS! Then if you don’t understand even the smallest concept, write the query down and search online, post it on Quora, or ask your teachers. Once done, begin to go over your flash cards, I recommend an LCD display, it costs around £20, but on that you can scribble and erase very quickly, so begin to scribble out the answers to the flash cards onto it, and say the answers out loud, keep doing this till you are absolutely confident. If you have a topic that you are not completely confident with in terms of understanding, stand infront of a wall, and imagine that you are explaining the topic to a class, keep doing this till you are not completely confident with the topic. But please realise that understanding will not get you many high grades alone, you also need memorisation, since you need to remember key definitions and how to answer exam-questions, so also begin to look at exam papers, and it is not required for you to do them, but just begin to see how the markscheme answers the questions. Finally, please don’t worry you have this, and you can do it! Just remember when studying that after the next 2-4 years of studying your life in terms of academia will be much much better!
@@itz_ary thank you so much for this!! i will definitely be looking into your advice, you mentioned some very helpful things there thank you for taking out the time! i really appreciate it. and i’ll surely be updating this hopefully with good results hehe💗

@@x-rayhads8382 personally i searched for pre-made ankii flash cards to ssave time because making flash cards for everything on my own tqkes too much time (in my opinion). Thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful and motivate me to study more. I also have a question, how are you able to finish reading and understanding a whole text book without feeling tired and unmotivated to do so?
I’m now in year 12 and my advise is that don’t EVeR EVER delay any of ur IGCSE subjects to October November Trust me U will loss all ur power and u will not be able to revise for any of the subjects I got A* in all the IGCSE subjects I took in MJ but now I’m procrastinating af and I have only 13 days now to my exam and I’m not ready at all ☹️
great vid! btw, do you use flashcards for all subjects like chemistry, physics and maths? and if not, what study techniques do you use to prepare for those subjects? (besides past year papers and just doing sums for maths)
i think for maths and english practice makes perfect because you can’t really be writing hella notes on it except for like context and analysing poems for english literature but i advise you watch like a maths genie video on a specific topic in maths, make a couple of notes of the example questions he does and do some yourself along with him, and then search up “(maths topic) practice questions maths genie” and do thoes and then mark them yourself and see where you went wrong.
I think you should start in year 10 or year 9 summer holidays. That would give you enough time to start exam papers after December year 11. That's what I did and achieved great grades
I'd really be glad if you make a video showing how you made Anki flashchards for Computer science as i am struggling how to make cards for that subject.
Yo I wish I was you I’m currently in year 10 doing me GCSE next year and I’m wandering how am I gonna get 9’s. Honestly you are so lucky to get all 9 and 8. Hope you do well on your a levels. Good luck

I’m in year 11 and I’m halfway into making a retrospective timetable after watching your video. Ik you use anky, but do you have any suggestions for paper practice work cause I’d like something not in my computer.
Cognito is good as well, same with exam boards where you can just pick questions to do based on the topic, if you don’t have a printer then just type your answers on a doc
in my opinion that’s weirdly actually a good thing, because it gives you extra motivation to revise and do more than if you were relaxed and let it catch up to you later. :)

hello udoka! lovely video. i’m in year 11 at the moment and i really need advice. like you mentioned there is an overwhelming amount of content. i did not do much revision in year 10 and now i am really scared for mocks and actual exams. how do i manage all these subjects? i’m an average student i don’t have motivation much of the time to revise i ALWAYS procrastinate which lowers my self esteem too. people around me are quite smart whereas i even struggle to do basic maths. please suggest something that could help. thank you💗
Okay so i'm not Udoka but let me suggest something and can you tell me if it works for you?
@@vedantbhardwaj7582 thank you for this Vedant!! really helpful. and in your opinion do you think it is too bad of a thing to start making flashcards now? i feel it would be more helpful if i made them myself so i could know and remember the things i wrote myself, but yeah thank you so much for taking out the time bro i appreciate it!
@@x-rayhads8382 personally i searched for pre-made ankii flash cards to ssave time because making flash cards for everything on my own tqkes too much time (in my opinion). I can also edit these pre-made ankii flash cards into my own words to make it simpler for me when appropriate.
Whatver works for you. I hope you get all 8s or above in your gcses.
I’m going into year 11 this September and hope I revise and learn a lot this year, I don’t think I did too well in year 10 although I tried to listen in class this year I feel like I just don’t know how to revise properly because I always get distracted so easily i’m so scared
Thanks these are useful, doing GCSEs next year
Hey Udoka. Love the vids keep it up, you really inspire me. Is there any tips that helped you with revision? Because I find revising is not one of my strong points.
Dnt avoid mistakes the lessons you learn from your mistakes will be valuable later on at uni
You are a very bright student . Best of luck for your future
Hi udoka I am long long subscriber congrats on 51k I just reached year 8 I just wanted to tell you you have changed my life till now I have gotten 7 and 6 thank you pls help me in the long run pls keep uploading btw luv ur videos

Hey Udoka! Great video. I know you're probably working on a lot of things right now but it would be really helpful if you did an Anki tutorial video :)
Sick knowledge bomb 🔥
Thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful and motivate me to study more. I also have a question, how are you able to finish reading and understanding a whole text book without feeling tired and unmotivated to do so?
I’m now in year 12 and my advise is that don’t EVeR EVER delay any of ur IGCSE subjects to October November
Trust me U will loss all ur power and u will not be able to revise for any of the subjects
I got A* in all the IGCSE subjects I took in MJ but now I’m procrastinating af and I have only 13 days now to my exam and I’m not ready at all ☹️
_questions decisions for choosing IGCSE Subjects_
That s so awesome💜
great vid! btw, do you use flashcards for all subjects like chemistry, physics and maths? and if not, what study techniques do you use to prepare for those subjects? (besides past year papers and just doing sums for maths)
i think for maths and english practice makes perfect because you can’t really be writing hella notes on it except for like context and analysing poems for english literature but i advise you watch like a maths genie video on a specific topic in maths, make a couple of notes of the example questions he does and do some yourself along with him, and then search up “(maths topic) practice questions maths genie” and do thoes and then mark them yourself and see where you went wrong.
One question what is your favourite books?

thank you very helpful
just started y11 great tips
Bro I'm in year 9 and I am worried about my GCSE'S. When should I start making my notes.
I think you should start in year 10 or year 9 summer holidays. That would give you enough time to start exam papers after December year 11. That's what I did and achieved great grades
This video just outlined most of my problems
*patiently waiting for an anki video*
my goat udoka 🐐🐐🐐
on the trying to do it on my own, i dont put my hand up due to my stutter. its the only thing that stops me from asking.

Good luck
I just uploaded a video on my channel om how to get grade 9s. Check it out and pls subscribe if u like it :)
So helpful keep it up
9:50 only problem with that is whenever I do that everyone in the class violates me 😂😂!
Same here man 😭😭😭
But I honestly don’t care anymore, if everyone violates but I still get better grades than I don’t care tbh
@@salafadel4509 True I should start doing that…
sameeee

Oof im in yr 10 doing 2 GCSEs early this year and the rest of the exams in yr 11 tyyy
Oh yeah you guys have to do ur English ones. Good luck and try hard. I’m in year 11 now
hey udoka, firstly thanks so much for guiding me through this *very* complex road to go past your gcse. I'm currently in year 9 and i just would like to ask, which type of school did you go in? Was it a grammar school or was it a regular state school.
Thanks so much

Another decent video!
My mocks start monday and omg im so stressed
I’m in year 11 and I’m halfway into making a retrospective timetable after watching your video. Ik you use anky, but do you have any suggestions for paper practice work cause I’d like something not in my computer.
i personally use physics and maths tutor
ignore the name they have much more than just physics and maths past papers
Just print them off
Cognito is good as well, same with exam boards where you can just pick questions to do based on the topic, if you don’t have a printer then just type your answers on a doc
@@shreyc1 thx, I’ll check it out
I’ve used physics and maths tutor before for topic test. I guess I’ll just have to print it out for a physical copy.
Does online revision help you or past questions
Both! Do online and the n past papers to round it up. I've got some useful tips on my channel. Would love it if u checked it out and subbed.
3 weeks into yr 11 and I’m shitting myself
in my opinion that’s weirdly actually a good thing, because it gives you extra motivation to revise and do more than if you were relaxed and let it catch up to you later. :)
idk if you stopped doing it but your email newsletter sign up has a bug or something it sends an error message saying theres a typo in the url
