My dad used to work with him in advertising. I never met him in person, but one year for my birthday, he sent me a cassette tape of himself singing "Happy Birthday" in Chas, Drew and Grandpa Boris's voices. One of my greatest childhood memories!
I always knew Michael Bell was Handy, Grouchy, and Lazy, but I had absolutely no idea he was Chaz, Drew, and Grandpa Boris! Additional fun fact: Michael Bell also voiced Ixus Naugus, the banished wizard from Sonic SATAM!
I got to meet him in Cincinnati last week and he is a warm and gracious man. So unreal to hear him talk in a character voice while watching him stand there.
I only knew him as Drew from Rugrats. I was amazed when I found out he also voiced Chaz, Boris, and countless other cartoon characters--mostly before my time. Also, you forgot Naugus from Sonic the Hedgehog.
7:12 - Missing a number of Transformers characters, me thinks. Along with Bombshell and Prowl, he also voice Sideswipe, Scrapper, Swoop, First Aid, and Brainstorm - at least, according to IMDb (What you do instead of things... ;) )
You forgot, he was also Swideswipe in The Transformers and reprised the role for Transformers: Devastation in 2015. He was also Scrapper, one of the Constructicons (the one who turned into an excevator). Oh, and Swoop the Dino Bot as well.
JCBro2014 Devastation was odd in terms of it's voice cast. Mostly regarding Frank Welker's characters since some of them are played by different actors.
Boris and Chaz from Rugrats. Wow, what the range, and he can go a great Eastern European accent. Cool how he used versions of the voices he'd use for Drew and Chaz for other roles.
I wrote a fan letter to Mr. Bell lately. Even though he won’t be in it, I told him that I believe he will be the much better, more talented, and more charismatic voices for Drew Pickles, Chaz Finster, and Grandpa Boris than whoever they casted for the Rugrats reboot series, and that the chemistry between him and the rest of the old adult cast seemed more lively and organic than the new ones. I also wrote that he and Tress Macneille as the Pickles parents went together like peanut butter and jelly, or chocolate pudding and green jello, as a reference to the show.
After all these years only now finding out that the guy that voiced chuckys dad from rugrats is also the same guy who voiced Raziel from Soul Reaver I think my brain just melted.
Can you do the many voices of Charlie Adler, Jeff Bennett, Dan Castellaneta, Jess Harrell, Tom Kenny, Phil Hartman, Gilbert Gottfried, Candi Milo, and Dom DeLuise? 😀
Live-actionly, Michael Bell appeared in shows like M*A*S*H, Three's Company, Dallas, Hunter, Fame, Remington Steel, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.
For me his most iconic role of Michael Bell is Raziel fron Legacy of Kain. Simply because I'm not familiar with the other franchises at large being from Indonesia.
It was interesting to me, when the Hub came out and I watched GI Joe for the first time since the early 90s and not remembering Duke was voiced by Angelica’s dad from Rugrats.
Note: "In the episode" The Babysitter from Beyond" Boogedy Bones (Molly the Moll's Deguise) was actually voiced by Frank Welker in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo which was the sixth episode from Season 1 and aired Saturday, October 15th 1988 on ABC.
12:36-12:50 Holy cow, that is one of the creepiest performances I have ever heard from any voice actor, and that made me realized that Michael Bell is capable of playing creepy characters
Considering what Bonkers was suppose to be originally, this performance is a perfect match to Christopher Loydd's Judge Doom. Also I can hear his Quacker Jack laugh making it extra creepy (and believe me, Quacky can get scary sometimes)
@@shaydystheshadowqueen9584 Yeah. And about Bonkers' origins, Greg Wiesman (who worked on the Miranda episodes) said that while Roger Rabbit did serve as an inspiration for Bonkers, the show was never meant to be a Roger Rabbit spin-off. Sorry about that. But still, I would like to imagine that pilot episode of Bonkers as a good horror movie...
@@cartoonprincessweirdchanne2161 Now I'm flashing back to that scene in Ducktales reboot where it's just Bonkers getting electricuted/beat up/crushed by the Fearsome Five. Only with Pencil Fingers (name escapes me at the moment)
The voice he used for characters like Scrapiron from Gijoe, Doctor octopus from the Spiderman and Hulk 80's tv shows and Major Bludd also from Gijoe is mind-blowing talent!!! This world is full of talented voice actors and Michael bell is one of them!
Michael Bell was part of the voice cast of the Lost in Space Saturday Superstar Movie, which also included Don Messick, Mouseketeer Sherry Alberoni, and Johnathan Harris reprising his role as Dr. Smith. ("Put me down you traitorous transistorized tin-plated tyrant!")
Here is something interesting, Michael Bell worked with LeBron James and coached him in voice acting just like how he coached B.J. Ward and Cam Clark. You know Scott McNeil reminds me of Michael Bell a little.
For a future voice actor video, how about doing Janice Kawaye, Grey Deslile Griffin, Dan Castelenetta, Jess Harnell, Jodi Benson, Debi Derryberry, and Paul Winchell?
I was watching an old star trek tng today..All I could think was "WHO is that guy? He sounds familiar." Thanks to the INTERWEBS found out I grew up listening to his voice in everything fromTRANSFORMERS TO G.I.JOE. Great actor, good PEOPLE!
My dad used to work with him in advertising. I never met him in person, but one year for my birthday, he sent me a cassette tape of himself singing "Happy Birthday" in Chas, Drew and Grandpa Boris's voices. One of my greatest childhood memories!
That is so cool! And it’s something you’ll remember forever.
That’s pretty sweet! What a great childhood memory. 💕
That's awesome.
Lucky!
Did you save the tape?
every time I hear Michael Bell I think of Raziel from Legacy of Kain
I think his most badass role was Ezekiel Rage from the The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest! A very underrated villain.
Same. I played LoK when I was very young, and Michael’s voice left quite an impression. Absolutely excellent work from an excellent voice actor.
Thank you! He brought Raziel to life in ways no one else could.
This guy not only voiced Duke and one of the Crimson Twins from GI Joe but he was also Raziel in Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver.
It's really cool that they got him back for Quackerjack in the new DuckTales. And, he still has it.^^
No other voice can fit QuackerJack other than Micheal Bell
@TopazCadet-GoJetters Agreed
He's a very nice man. Met him at Seattle Comic Con few years ago and got him to sign some of my GI Joe figures. Yo joe :)
He must sound like a very awesome guy I hope I meet at Tampa comic con next year in person
I’m familiar of his voice work on Rugrats for Nickelodeon

I love this "Many Voices of" series. Big nostalgia and great showcase of tallent.
You didn't even touch on his role of Raziel from the Legacy of Kain video game series.
you can hear the Raziel coming out in the GI Joe Renegades clip 13:27
This! How I couldn't see any of the LoK characters, particularly Raiziel?
Exactly... Possibly his most iconic role...
I don't think anyone present there would have known what the hell he was talking about.
Aww man, that’s why I clicked this video when I saw his name. Not sure if I want to watch it now 😅
Favorite Role: Grandpa Boris from Rugrats with Chaz Finster as my second favorite.
His voice is so nostalgic to me
I remember Michael Bell from Transformers since that was his signature role.
Raghu Seetharaman everything he's done is wait for it! Coollllll!!!! From Gavin!!!
I loved his Prowl voice...
Michael Bell voiced Bombshell
The voice of brainstorm and first aid
And he provided the voices for Sideswipe, Swoop and Scrapper
I always knew Michael Bell was Handy, Grouchy, and Lazy, but I had absolutely no idea he was Chaz, Drew, and Grandpa Boris!
Additional fun fact: Michael Bell also voiced Ixus Naugus, the banished wizard from Sonic SATAM!
He also voiced Rat from Martin Gates's The Wind in the Willows (American Version)
When I think of Michael Bell, I think of Grouchy Smurf, that guy with a scowl on his face (even though he is fortunately kind hearted inside).
QUACKERJACK, MY FAVE!

Mine too.

otopico I’m so jealous I wanna meet Michael bell
My favorite character that Michael Bell voiced was Drew Pickles from Rugrats/All Grown Up, my favorite Nickelodeon cartoon!
Stinkweed sounds EXACTLY like The Fear from MGS3 and I refuse to believe that Kojima didn't ask him specifically for that voice
😱I knew that voice sounded odd!, good ear jelly!
This man was my childhood
I only knew him as Drew from Rugrats. I was amazed when I found out he also voiced Chaz, Boris, and countless other cartoon characters--mostly before my time.

Truly an outstanding performer, I hope he got to star in Transformers again as he wish

That guy sounds like Grandpa Boris. He obviously used the same voice for both characters.
Michael Bell is a national treasure.

The voice of my favorite "Joe".. Duke.
Boris and Chaz from Rugrats. Wow, what the range, and he can go a great Eastern European accent. Cool how he used versions of the voices he'd use for Drew and Chaz for other roles.

The riddler superfriends. He was the dance instructor who hit on janet on three's company
A mite disappointed they did not show a clip of him voicing Raziel, from the Legacy of Kain series.
