You are one of the rare naturals on youtube who know what they are saying, bring NEW and accurate information on here, and who can actually just be themselves. I feel that the other naturals are just copies. Thank you for your insights, advice, and time!
Every since you said wash and go's, more water and hair staying hydrated, I took your advice, because the carpal tunnel was killing me with the twist outs even though i do like them. I have been able to retain my length..I have been natural since May of this year and I'm loving my hair and retention..thanks for your advice/expertise...go girl!!!
great vid. i am a firm believer in wash n gos also. it works for my hair and it's "easy" (keyword). I have a busy life and i need the easiest health hair possible. so agree with you 100 percent. thanks for posting the vid.
@WorldLeader2010 No I don't but when people usually experience knots it's because the hair isn't hydrated enough and it's time to redo that wash n go. The biggest thing is that I'm trying to get people to realize that a wash n go isn't suppose to stay in your hair a week. You are suppose to redo it when it start to look and/or feel dry. When you do that you won't have any knots. I hope that helps
Great information, and I agree a 100%. I have twin girls 10, they love my wash and gos. Now that they are getting older I want to start training their hair to do the same. It is so freeing doing a wash and go. I have fallen in love with my hair. It takes a time of adjustment to do your hair this way, trial and error. Then before you know it, its all you do. Your hair justloves it. I have also been doing the tightly curly method so I could get rid of the gel and love it. God Bless
One of the reasons why I like your channel is because you do not promote braids and weaves as the only way to retain length. They are not for me. Thanks for the information.
After 3 years of being natural i still have not mastered it, but i have not spent the time trying to get it right, i just gave up, but you are right i should not only do twist outs but i should go back to it until i get it right because i know the potential is their, i just need to find the right product combination and stay determined to get it right, Thanks!
Glad you made this! I get asked all of the time if I did a straw set or to define exactly what I did to my hair. It all started with the Curly Girl handbook and I started conditioning overnight then gel in the AM and it really moisturized my hair and brought out it's natural curl definition. This is right on point.
@ElleNuMi I don't have them either. Usually if people get them the hair is dry and lacking hydration. To fix that they need to up the # of times they co wash their hair per week.
@iamsillywarm yeah is suppose but I promote the wash n go because gives you an easy quick hair style and moisturize at the same time. It also trains your natural curl better.
GLAD you pointed out that caring for natural hair is not the same as relaxed. Washing and conditioning regularly is essential of natural hair. I don't knock protective styles for some people because not everyone has a curl pattern and they want their hair to be uniform so they do braid outs and twist out constantly. But I think to many WOC buy into that they can't wash n go without even trying it first buying into to many myths about ethnic hair.
Great vid. H20 is the key. This is such a hard lesson for me to get past. For years I have been runing from water. It is just within the past year and a half that I have been embracing this concept. Still have not tried a wash and go. I guess its the fear factor. What fear, i don't really know maybe shrinkage!!!! Don't judge me, I'm a work in progress.;-). i'm getting to the point where I am tired of this protective styling. Baby steps. i'll get there.
@Shemsa08 Pick your times in when you do the wash n go. I know about the cold weather....So I feel for you but what you do is do you wash n go after work when you don't have plans that evening. Let it air dry in the house mostly or sit under a hooded dryer if you have one. Hopefully it should be dry by the time you go to bed. If not the just blow dry the rest. Once the hair is hydrated you shouldn't have to do this but 2 times a week maybe 3 sometimes.
Did I tell you that I love you in the last video. I love the fact that you have read my mind and articulated in such a way, that there is nothing more to say. Wash n goes is the key to gaining healthy hair. Period. Water Water Water moisture and sealing.
I agree with you, but someimes I feel like it's more about your hair texture and genetics. When i was a child I had natural waist length hair and I hardly got my hair washed. Sometimes when your hair strands are thicker or stronger you can retain more length.
you are sooooo right about the wash and gos.. my hair is thriving so much from the wash and gos.your one of my biggest inspirations its getting so long !!:) hey I think someone else touched on this..can you give some advice on how to handle wash n gos more in the winter time.. like do you diffuse in the winter all the time and/or do you do plopping at all? Just would like some tips on how you handle wetting your hair in the winter thanks :)
This is so true!! I recently trained my hair by finger detangling only. It was hard at first now detangling takes me 10 min! And I have ALOT of hair. My wng's are perfect now! (to me) Thanks for your videos!
@bpwarren128 Exactly. It's trial and error. It's doesn't just happens it's takes practice. I'm so happy you are starting the little ones off young. Good for you!
Maybe it depends on if your hair is truly naturally curly no matter twist out or not my hair is curly no training involved j/s ...the wash n go just defines your Natural curl pattern
@sayma8 Then you can do a wash n go. If you hair is curly wet it can be curly dry. I wish you were near me in Miami and I would have you come in so I can show you. Watch some of my wash n go videos I ramble some on them but skip to the points. Keep practicing you can do a wash n go though.
@sayma8 The logic is your hair take the shape of the style that you are often wearing. Look at the form of a braid it starts off big but eventually get skinny towards the ends but constantly doing that your hair take that same shape causing the hair to go ends towards the ends. When you hair is wet do you have any kind of wave or curl? If so then you have a curl pattern some pattern take longer to come out. I bet if you cowash your hair at least 2 times a week you will start to see a
W-N-G are great for those who live in warm climates but it's like 32 as a high here in NJ sometimes, and I need to wear a knit hat. Since the hats always give me breakage around my edges, I twist or braid my hair up and wear a silk scarf, then I will wear the knit cap. I do however co-wash my hair every 3-4 days. What do you suggest for us naturals that live North East with a colder climate?
@sayma8 a difference. Actually aim for 3 times you can do any style but the main part is I want you to get water in the hair. Try it and tell me what you notice.
@aljehi When you start off doing it you should but the more you do this it becomes easier to apply which is why it doesn't take as long for me to do my hair anymore.
Thanks for making this video. You have no idea how much I wish that I could do a wash n' go. But, I'm beginning to think that I just don't have the kind of texture (4a-c) that would make it work. I am going to review the comments and see if there's some advice that might be helpful. Thanks again.
I agree with you on wash n go..Love them. However, in the winter months working and going out with wet hair is just not working for me..and I live in CA but lately in the mornings is be cold as hell. Therefore, I do twist or flexi rods and wash n go on the weekend. Its the only time I can allow my hair to dry.
@rockthenatural Not exactly but I do it the same back I put in my products for my wash n go's. You are probably thinking about it too hard. Just think of your fingers as a comb and detangle your hair from root to top with your finger and do this when you have conditioner on the hair.
@KinkyTresses Yeah girl do it. You hair is like mines so I know you can do one. If you come down to miami let me know and I can show you how to do it. Watch my wash n go videos again and keep trying it. Practice makes perfect!
My last relaxer was december 2009 and transitioned with sew ins. In august 2010 I chopped it off and continued to wear sew ins because I was retaining so much length. But my hair underneath is so dry and I am tired of sew in weaves. My hair is crying for water and conditioner. But I am so nervous bc I have not dealt with my own hair in 2 years. Just thought I would share.
hi there i just want to ask you a question regarding the issue you touched on in the video about when you do twist outs or in my case braid outs, too often your hair gets thinner. I have been constantly doing braid outs as my natural style of choice, and i have noticed that the ends of my hair is not the same they used to be. Could you tell me the logic behind this because i dont seem to understand how braid outs could be doing this. Also i cannot do wash and goes as i have no definite curl
Hi, I dont know if you went into to this before, but do you have any suggestions on doing wash and goes during winter months in cold climates? The drying processes is what is sometimes hard for me during the winter months. Thanks in advance.
OOhh, and one more thing. Do you experience knots with wash and goes? Because I do. I am not sure if it is not moisturized enough thats why it happens. I just dont know. Do you have any insight about this? Or can you direct me to a video where you mention this? Thanks again.
yes i have a curl pattern when wet it is a lovely curly 3c type curl but once the water stops touching the hair it loses its curl and shrinks to like 85% of the length. Also when i do shrunken styles i get horrible single strand knots. i will try the wash and go i have a feeling it will be so short and shruken. What product do you put in after your wash n go? thankyou
I'm getting knots in my natural hair, and I have to cut them out. Is there anything thing I can do to stop this? they are REALLY tight knots. Most of the time, I can't work them out without ripping my hair. I use water and lots of conditioner.
Hi, Anaturalbeauty3. Miss you on the YT. Let us know how things are going with you and your clients. Look forward to getting your updates, especially your insights about the benefits of the WnG. Thanks,
hi, thanks for the video. do you have to apply the gel section by section each time you co-wash during the week? if so, how do you do so in a timely manner? also, do you have to finger detangle each time? thanks for the help!
Thanks for your video. I work out 2x a wk so i must cleanse my scalp from sweat just as often with shampoo to keep away the build up. Idc what nobody says on that! I've been using my fingers to separate tangles and remove shed hair while i'm conditioning and I dont get as much ssk asbefore. I don't twist or braid too time consuming. Also, I feel its easier moisturizing my ends when my hair is straightened, Do you have any techniques for moisturizing ends when it is curly like in a washngo style?
also could you recommoned any other style in which i could adopt to get my hair to grow normally minus the thin ends. I have very kinky 4b bsl hair. thankyou
I have been keeping my hair hydrated and moisturized, however i find that the ends of my hair are really defined but my roots look frizzy. What can I do about this?

I love your philosophy. You should are one of a few hair dressers that think like a natural. Thank you for your vids.

Wash and gos EVERY SHOWER🔥

thanks alot . i will view them. me too i wish i lived in miami lol unfortunately im stuck in cold London, England. xx
Very informative... Thank u, transitioning since April of this year....
@bpwarren128 Exactly. It's trial and error. It's doesn't just happens it's takes practice. I'm so happy you are starting the little ones off young. Good for you!
@Ncw771 No I haven't used it. I keep hearing some much about it. Maybe one day.
No one had to tell me to wash and go. That's all I ever did because I'm so darn lazy! LOL! :D
Maybe it depends on if your hair is truly naturally curly no matter twist out or not my hair is curly no training involved j/s ...the wash n go just defines your Natural curl pattern
OMG speak the truth. There are soo many women out there who do not wash their heads for weeks and you can even smell that head smell.
@Dhamiltonj It's hard to explain because everyone's hair might need something different to train it but WOC need to know that our hair is trainable.
WasHnGos🙌 I've fell in love😍

@sayma8 single strand twists are great you can let me dry and then pull them apart for a more curly look.
@lookingforachange You are focusing more on the ends which is good than the roots. Try making sure you are saturating the roots too.
@aljehi When you start off doing it you should but the more you do this it becomes easier to apply which is why it doesn't take as long for me to do my hair anymore.
Great advice ! blessings..Doll
Thanks for making this video. You have no idea how much I wish that I could do a wash n' go. But, I'm beginning to think that I just don't have the kind of texture (4a-c) that would make it work. I am going to review the comments and see if there's some advice that might be helpful. Thanks again.

@TawanaNicole Use less product and you will still have big hair. You can also use a blow dryer to manipulate the hair to go bigger.
Exactly! I wash my hair more or less every day....
@KinkyTresses Yeah girl do it. You hair is like mines so I know you can do one. If you come down to miami let me know and I can show you how to do it. Watch my wash n go videos again and keep trying it. Practice makes perfect!

Do you have a video on how to finger detangle? I'm struggling with this, and would love to see a video on how you do it.
@AmberAuNaturel Yeah mostly some 3c but mostly 4a.
@KinkyTresses Hey Happy New Year! I don't have much of an opinion on them but I can throw it in a video. I hope you had a great new year!
@notsoshy28 Keep practicing and you will get it. It could be something as little as getting the right haircut to make it come together.

I so wish I lived in miami
@calculatefees Thank you. and I'm glad it's working!
@uniquely2004 Thank you! Same to you!
Do you get single strand knots w/ the wash and go? If so, how do you minimize them?
OOhh, and one more thing. Do you experience knots with wash and goes? Because I do. I am not sure if it is not moisturized enough thats why it happens. I just dont know. Do you have any insight about this? Or can you direct me to a video where you mention this? Thanks again.

dosen't it take your hair all day to dry? If I do a wash and go in the morning by evening underneath and the roots are wet. I just do air dry only
@mzpatriciakeller I always switch up my products. I haven't use aloe vera since i BC'ed. I just like eco better but use whatever your hair likes.
@JenJen80J Super easy once your hair has been hydrated enough. Thanks for commenting!
Thank you for this video !!! I have achieved a decent wash n go watching your videos...question is it wrong to deep condition with each wash?

@MrsSarahWalz I agree. What's WOC?
Do you oil your scalp???
I been reading that its not good to do.
also could you recommoned any other style in which i could adopt to get my hair to grow normally minus the thin ends. I have very kinky 4b bsl hair. thankyou
I wish u were in Dallas
Can you do a "wash and go" on relaxed hair?
@MrsSarahWalz lol ok thanks
@leienabeth630 TY
♥ ♥ EASY hair ♥ ♥
Do you still use the shea moisture and eco styler?
I have been keeping my hair hydrated and moisturized, however i find that the ends of my hair are really defined but my roots look frizzy. What can I do about this?
@anissa1115 Thank you!
