🤍 Thank you Carla. I have lost weight twice before. 66 lbs the first time, and around 60 the second time. I experienced childhood SA and other traumas. I’m now divorcing a psychopath. The years of sustained stress took a toll. I now need to lose 120 lbs. Your experience and wisdom is so inspiring and extremely helpful. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing! I have done the same. Lost 60 lbs 1st time and then 92 lbs before and sadly I put a lot of weight on my husband validating my progress. I’ve gained 50 lbs out of the 92 lbs. I realize my progress is mine only no matter who validates it. I am back at it and I’m not making that mistake again. Sending positive vibes for your journey love! We can do this!
❤ All the best babe! You are a warrior and you deserve to live your most amazing life now that you’re out of your situation, it’s all about you now! Sending love, light and healing hugs❤
🤍 I’m with you on meeting yourself where your at for each day. Some days I power walk to beat my best time because I feel like it and may walk and extra mile or two on top of my normal 3. And then sometimes I choose to walk my 3 miles very slow because I am having a low day, but doing it anyways!
Thank you for sharing your story! I'm on day 3 of walking because of you. I'm taking it slowly with changing my habits, not changing everything in 1 day.
🤍I have a daily food diary that I am accountable to. I do not measure or weigh or count calories, I simply write down what I eat each day. It’s something I need to do. I am trying very hard to love myself. Every day I look in the mirror and say positive things about myself, it’s not always easy but I do it. Thank you for so much for your videos ❤️
I need to get into the 130s always stuck in the 150s. Not for superficial reasons but because of my pcos i find that weight range the most comfortable improved energy and mood.
🤍 just what I needed at the end of today - a notification that this video of yours is up! #8 is the tip I’m taking with me for the moment. Weight-loss has stalled and has me nitpicking my efforts, when it may just be a plateau, which is totally normal. Even if it lingers, I plan to keep showing up for myself and concentrate on doing my best to abide by the BodySlims pillars. You’re my #1, Carla - the positive influence & evidence that it can be done! Forever grateful for that!
I have watched MANY people talking about weight loss. But I found your channel recently and although our journey differs a lot, everything you say and how you say it speaks directly to my soul... Your story is real, relatable, and not rose colored. It's not as easy as "change diet and exercise", there's always a lot more going on in this whole process than people let on. Our minds are our own worst enemies. Whenever I need that extra boost of motivation or inspiration, I'll be coming to your channel. When it comes to visualisation.. I did exactly that before even finding your channel, came across an old photo of myself and a little realisation occurred to me... We look at all these other fit people and wish we were like them and yet our bodies don't cooperate. But here... That is ME. ME AND MY BODY. I should be my own inspiration in this journey. This is the body I had which means it is achievable for my body type, my genetics, and whatever else plays a role. So now other people's work becomes only a guide. Not a goal. I am my goal... It's more motivating than the regular disappointment from not achieving someone else's results. Greetings from a fellow Irish ;)
This comment means the absolute world to me, thank you so much. There’s a part of me that thought there so much weight loss content online, who am I to add anything, but then I’ve realised we all have something to say and it might resonate with others, so thank you for reminding me of that xx
🤍 great motivation. I'm focusing on not watching TV and mindlessly munching and being consistent with my exercise. Every day, every day, because often enough real life steps in and makes me miss a day 😉 loved the idea of writing down motivations when temptation happens 😊🖤
What if you are Married to them I'm going to keep it from him too I go walk he thinks crap in his head. I exercise in my house. I don't have the same with my husband. He does make comments and doesn't support me. I'm alone on this im 277 pounds i need to get this off
Hi Tammie, I hope you don‘t mind me answering you. I suggest strongly that you (secretly if need be) sign up for the Bodyslims programme. I‘m in the middle and the support from the programme and the community is incredible. It‘s the one Carla did and is now ambassador for. It‘s truly life-changing. And when you feel able, try to talk to your husband about how he treats you. You can do this on your own, but if he loves you, he should have your back, or at least not be mean-spirited. Maybe you can ask him why he doesn‘t support you. But join the programme and do it for you. Btw, I‘m a singer, too. What a beautiful mezzo voice you have. Best wishes, Lauren
🤍🤍🤍 This has been such a great series! Thank you for putting together all of these great tips. I will go back and take more notes from each of the videos 😃 I also love the bloopers you include at the end of your videos - they never fail to make me laugh!
You're the only UA-camr that I have notifications on for. I'm on a journey to lose 45lbs & struggle with motivation & in fact a lot of stuff you talk about. I'm grateful I found you. Sending hugs & blessings from North East England x
It took me a year to lose 30 pounds and people notice last minute when I didn’t talk about it which threw me off. I’m a person that overly shares because I get frustrated when I don’t meet a certain goal at a specific time. And I seem to get really upset. But I think I’m keep it to myself and actually do it for health reasons not for looks. It’s kind of difficult because I try to find lie to myself to keep motivated.
Thank you Carla, I love these videos I find them so useful. I am preparing for my second round of BS next wed really looking forward to it, hoping to get the mindset more aligned this time. Something you touch on in the video is comparison of weight loss, I added myself into a Bodyslims group chat the first round, although I found it incredibly inspiring and then women so so nice, I was feeling anxious each week when everyone was sharing their weigh in result and would feel like a failure when comparing against others. I couldn't help it so have opted out of the group for this round x
New follower. You talk so much sense. Your comment about telling people you’re on a diet is so true. Everyone has an opinion. I will tell my very best friend who is not a judgmental person. I feel very hopeful having listened to you. Thank you. xx
I’m 37 and 230 pounds. I feel like I’ll never be able to lose it. I’m SO grateful to have stumbled across your channel!! You give me hope for the first time in such a long time. Thank you!! 🥹
Thanks madam ,I have been able to lose my weight in just 10 days for you. 😊Friends, if you also want to know or need my help, then you can definitely tell me, I will definitely help you.
🤍Kindness to yourself is so important. I am ⅓ to my goal and this has been the most I've looked at and felt my body in years because I no longer feel shame for how I currently am because I know I'm doing something about it now. And that feels so good.
Love these tips! I write down all my whys and post them all over my surroundings - mirrors, doors, refrigerators, pantry, car …. And the week 4 BodySlims video was so inspiring with all the why-nots, I may post those as well!!!
Thank you for all the tips. I find it hard to stay motivated. You have shared some helpful tips. Meet myself where I am and quit comparin myself to others.
Thank You You convey tips that are very simple and easy to do, of course we have to be passionate about losing weight so that the results can be maximized and satisfying
Thank you for this video! ❤ you’re such a great motivation for me. I’ve hit my first plateau really early and I’m pushing through but discouraged. Needed this ❤❤❤
@@GabrielleSR yesss normally I breeze through the first 10-20lbs but man I’m only on lb 6 and it’s been 2 weeks!!! But I’m gonna keep going because like Carla says you’ll never reach it if you stop!
🤍 Thank you for this great video, Karla. I need a full lifestyle makeover in order to lose weight, and I've been fighting the change. I will be watching your vids over and over. How in the world do you have the self control necessary to change your life? I'm following and hope to learn what I need to know to succeed.❤
Did anyone pull the 8 tips out of this video? I've been listening for a long time - have heard being accountable and knowing why you are doing the work and walking. What are the other 5? empathy and compassion perhaps. would love to see the list! Thanks
🤍 So what if you’re really tired and you want that nap, but the only time you could do the nap is instead of exercising? Do you say “screw you, kindness! Must exercise!”? 😔 I don’t seem to be there yet.
It's a toss up isn't it. I think we have to assess what is the kindest thing for us, what would be more beneficial in the moment. Sometimes it will be the nap, sometimes it will be the exercise. I too still struggle with that toss up.
I love these tips, especially the keeping your journey personal and private for a time. This is exactly what I’m doing. I’ve created a whole IG account that is completely private with no followers and I only follow fitness and nutrition accounts. Some additional tips I have are: 1. take progress pictures, videos, measurements, etc. 2. keep a calendar and plan out a goal date with your ideal goal weight, however keep it realistic (I gave myself 1 year to lose 50-60 lbs) 3. Create a vision board
In the process of recommitting, so I’m watching all your videos again, lol. I would love to know what lipstick you were wearing here (if you can remember). I have similar colouring to you and it’s hard to find lipsticks that look as nice as that.
Hi! Sorry I can’t find the girl you mentioned that motivated you. Hope you can mention her here. Thank you so much and pls continue to inspire us. Love to watch your videos. So far, walking works for me. I don’t see much difference on weighing scale but I can feel that part of my clothes are not that tight anymore 😊
