  • Being creative is what still life photography is all about.
In this program I take you step by step through the process of making creative still life photography.
I will demonstrate how to use an aquarium, fish tank, to photograph a surreal image of a flower under water.
From the studio lighting using a simple two light studio flash set up, through the tethered capture in Capture one software, to the final image in Adobe Photoshop.
Every stage of the image creation is covered.
I'll use a Canon DSLR, tethered into Capture one software to show you how to capture your subject from basic image to completed photograph.
    Ideas for art photography.
    Profoto studio flash.
    Canon 24-70mm f2.8 Lens.

I LOVE YOUR PROGRESSIVE STEPS! Details after details show deep knowledge of lighting. Thank you! (How could I have lived without tethering so far?) 😆

how to get rid of the reflection on the backside right behind the flower?

If you need to remove items in the background then use a blank slate (just background no subject) and comp in photoshop.

I have watched many of your presentations and listened intently to your explanations and appreciated your creativeness. It leads me to indicate that they are clear and do not cloud your intentions with confusing, superfluous details that are not pertinent. I wonder if you are an educator knowledgeable in driving home the salient elements of a subject. However, concerning the photo at hand leads me to question the reason why you left the central (brown) part dark with only very few barely perceptible specks of highlights? To me it makes the flower look very unnatural as if the center is a deep void. .

I liked the contrast of the dark centre, thank you for your comments. Glad you like the videos.
