What this doesn’t show you is that on the original NES version, there was NO holy water dropped on the level 5 (Grim Reaper level) so to fight the Grim Reaper with the holy water w/ triple-shot you needed to collect those on level 3/4 and get through all the Medusa heads, hunchbacks, axe-knights, canons, etc and fight the Grim Reaper without dying which was hard AF.
2:13 This is the reason why the producers programmed Simon's whip to be able to move in 360°. Players who knew nothing of the holy water trick in 1986 finally get to take out all their frustrations on Death.
Some of those can be found on youtube by typing in grim reaper commerical. One was a bass beer commercial, A movie called scrooged (1988) which is the ghost of christmas future, another commercial from 1987 about aids, Another movie called Monty Python's The meaning of life (1983), Clash of the Titans (1981) you can find the full movie here but I don't remember which part it was. He was in a boat. As for the last one I don't remember the title. It was from a low budget trailer. Hope this helps.
I know, right? I was like, "okay, Drac's dead, so maybe Death will resurrect him in season 3." Nope. Here's hoping he's at least alluded to in season 4, if he doesn't outright appear.
@@DraceEmpressa Isaac originated in Curse of Darkness. The anime simply expands upon him greatly. Also, I don't know what you're on about. The Castlevania anime is the golden standard of a video game adaptation done right.

@@DraceEmpressa Well, I suppose it all comes down to taste ultimately, but I greatly prefer Isaac's anime design as opposed to his game design, which I felt was rather overdone. Additionally, with Order of Ecclesia being my favorite game in the series as well as being a fan of things like Berserk, I approve greatly of the decision to have most of the show take place outside the castle and go for a dark fantasy, character-driven approach.
Death battles got easier as the games went on. It's a shame. And less important, I think. As much as I like the Symphony of the Night-type games (Aria of Sorrow, ect), Death in those games feels like just another boss, whereas in the first few games, he was a bigger deal.
In Aria Of Sorrow is the only game I remember him appearing like any other boss, but he was the most difficult one I fought in the game. Even with the Chimera Soul he was really a pain on my neck
I was thinking "Were Death battles so easy in the past?" until you reached CotM. That battle wasn't hard for me, but it didn't take me around half a minute...
Wow! What was that really cool song in the beginning? Great vid btw! When I first played this game I didn't know the Holy Water freeze locks, so I tanked him while spamming the watch (Which momentarily froze his projectiles).
Super Castlevania 4....Death is defeated in 7 seconds. Now that is the very definition of a swift ass-kicking. Very well done and impressive to say the least.
Anyone else disappointed that Death isn’t in the Anime series? I mean he is Dracula’s right hand man and most loyal servant and he isn’t even given so much as a throw away reference
I remember that in the very first CV game for the NES, you CANNOT use the stop clock on him because logically it has no effect and he’s clearly the one who controls the time of mortality.
Александр Шалаев symphony of the nights death is a joke his first form doesn't get a chance to attack and the second is slow as fuck but yeah circle of moons is compared to its game really noting to fear about
That's Castlevania Symphony of the Night, arguably the best Castlevania game there is. It's the one that made the castle exploration (Metroidvania) popular. It was for PS1, but it was re-released on PSN, XboxLive Marketplace, and bundled in Dracula X Chronicles on the PSP. Play it now, it's amazing.
We talking about SotN here? The Crissaegrim is the best sword in the whole game. The floating pumpkin in the inverted library drops it, and in the second screen you can just go back and forth to force it to keep respawning. It's not hard, just depends on luck. Like the 99 luck code or just flat-out patience.
For the record Death is far more recurring than Dracula. Death has made more appearances in almost every Castlevania game in the Castlevania franchise.
Dude can we get a list of the games and the systems they are on please cause some of these i do not recognize all the games. are some of them japan only titles?

Meanwhile, at Simon's Quest:
Death:"No!!! You have to defeat me before getting to that door!"
Simon: "haha door go open"
I never really got Rondo of Blood Death. He's actually easier when he takes off the robe, despite acting like the kid gloves are off.
Nice to see all of the forms of Death, but why did every battle have to be of him getting owned? We don't get to see many of his attacks.
same, i was actually hoping this would cover those
Right! I mean Sotn Death is one of the harder fights but using Crissaegrim doesn’t do him much justice
I love death as a boss but man this makes him look like shit
