This is probably my favourite video from you so far, I love customization videos where they actually go through the process instead of just saying they did something and you see the end result I really hope you continue with this.
Thank you! That was the idea behind the video, to show the process behind some basic customization. There will probably be more content like this, just not too often. Unfortunately the time is what it is!
You helped me a lot with this Video. I got the same metal parts for my sazabi and was struggeling with the thrusters. First I tried to drill them but, like you mentioned in this video, some parts can't be drilled. The part that frustrated me the most were the shoulder thrusters. I haven't touched my kit in months because of my frustration. The answer was so simple just glue it instead of using the pins. This simple workaround of yours just gave me the motivation to continue my build. Thanks a lot dude, you just made my day randomly appearing on my front page! Greetings from Germany. :)
Yeah, I noticed that it would screw the internal mechanism pretty fast. Glad that the tips have been useful! A piece of advice: first of all test your super glue, if you already have one. Some tend to create a whitening effect on your part, that can be pretty annoying. If so, get a glue for model kits, like the one from Ray Studio that I am using. Also, do not pour the glue directly, but put some on a plate and use a needle or a toothpick to apply it on the thruster. Best of luck!
Ciao Paolo, video super interessante!
After it was sitting on my shelf for months, I finally decided to build my Sazabi Ver Ka. Since it is such a special kit (not just because the box is absolutely massive) I decided to try something special with it. While I usually give my kits an ultra matte finish, I'm going to try a candy coat gloss finish. And I'm going to try preshading. Wish me luck...
The shoulders are tricky to make posable and stable. The problem is if you stabilize one part the pressure is transferred to the other part then the elbow and so on. It's a real hornets nest. Ultra lite florocarbon line used in finishing threaded between the 90° bends over (under the armor) down the back would do it but would need adjustment every time you pose it. This is the problem with our kits. They don't have muscles and tendons, just friction and joints.
I know, right? That's why some external support really helps. The beam cannons actually weight on the torso, and that's pretty stable. I managed to create a couple of brackets to keep them in place too. I think it should work fine.
I sanded them down so they could sit properly, but the weight was still too much. I made a couple of brackets with metal wire to keep them in place and they work fairly well
@ You can take a picture and do a rough paint job on windows paint or something. I did that on my first try and it helped me to visualize it. It won’t look great, but you can get a general idea.
I got them off Chinese internet, that’s the best way for me considering I live in Asia. I found them on AliExpress for you, but I want to let you know I don’t know this shops so I can’t guarantee for them! a.aliexpress.com/_EvuyAGv a.aliexpress.com/_oDzm9g7 a.aliexpress.com/_EyqRX2p a.aliexpress.com/_ExbIAWV
I hear you. I won't lie, I thought about it. But I decided that changing some bits and pieces is fine, a whole frame feels... wrong? It's like the Ship of Theseus' Ship, or The MS of Theseus in this case!
You need to use the old funnel storage unfortunately. There as an piece that need to be swapped inside, but you still need the original case... I really do not know where you can find a replacement .
You’re not the first to mention it. I considered to add them, but I decided not to. I want the inner frame to stay as original as possible, changing only some parts and details, to be able to paint it and modify it myself
@ that’s fair. Youre also no obligated to use all the parts. In many cases I’ve only used the joints to reinforce the frame. It comes in handy when using resin kits and accessories that add a lot more weight than the orginal joints were designed to hold

Looking forward to seeing yours finished, going to be a beast
It will take a bit! Be patient lol
@ I started prepping my torso energy cables last night. Your solution is much better than mine!
The important is that they fit and stay up!
Thank you for this video. It let's me know I'm in o over my head with the metal parts lol. I will be returning this back
Thanks! You should still try to install them, in my opinion. It’s a bit daunting but will bring great results!

Candy coating can be a hit or miss, depending on the model. But I praise the boldness of your move!
And good luck!
@TeaandGunpla it is something I am nervous about, since the sazabi is not a cheap kit. But I have some scrap plastic I will be practicing on.
Test on your used runners, so you will see the exact effect on the Sazabi red
I'm a simple man.
I see someone customizing a Sazabi Ver KA, I subscribe.
I like your spirit!

❤❤❤
For the shoulder, you gotta cut the L shape part to make it sit properly to the backpack
I sanded them down so they could sit properly, but the weight was still too much. I made a couple of brackets with metal wire to keep them in place and they work fairly well
The red looks too good to me to change, so maybe a just a darker red with some black accents here and there.
I am still undecided, I'll do some testing before starting the real paint job, but the red will stay for sure. I just have to decide how much of it

Usually I use the trusty spoon, but I could tech up a bit for this! Thanks for the idea
Where did you buy your parts? I'm building one right now and want to do this.

What is the hand drill you use? Looks nice
It’s from Ray Studio. You can get both regular and flat tips with it. It’s pretty good
Still not maxed out, you need MG Sazabi Metal Inner Frame.
I hear you. I won't lie, I thought about it. But I decided that changing some bits and pieces is fine, a whole frame feels... wrong? It's like the Ship of Theseus' Ship, or The MS of Theseus in this case!

Missed opportunity in not using metal frame parts to beef up Sazabi

That’s true. If I see that the add ons will start to weaken the joints I will probably consider it 100%!
