As an Alaskan vinyl wrapper I can help shed some light on wrap longevity. Or rather the lack of. The problem with vinyl in heavy snow is that it doesn’t like the cold very much. Once exposed to temperatures well below zero vinyl shows it’s pvc nature and becomes brittle. Once it becomes brittle it’s pretty easy to tear/chip and that’s where the real issues come in. If you can keep it intact the wrap will last, but once the snow can get up under those chips the wrap is going to look like trash and you’re just going to pull it off. As long as you can keep the wrap solid you shouldn’t have issues though
I live in Alaska. so far, I have done several colors (mostly matts) and I get all my wraps from Vvivid Vinyls. I haven't tried any PPF since most of them require applying wet. I have one car that's in ghost blue that's been on for about 7 years and gets driven all year around. I am just now starting to see some signs of lifting/air trapped in crease/channels. I count myself pretty lucky for how long its lasted, but I am wondering if it's a brand related issue. I just use normal car soap that's vinyl friendly. Just asking since you have experience up here
this is really late but i toitally agree and he didnt talk about the longevity issues wit brands like techwrap, he just said choose what you prefer. Well ima choose the cheapest if its all the same to you, but it shouldnt be techwrap/inozetek is calendared garbage that fades after a year as far as i can research.

Wrap school where I am in Colorado is about $1200 for the basics class (3 day Avery class) and then you can go on to take additional courses for the fancier and more technical techniques. I started wrapping police cars about a year ago, the guy who prints the vinyl was impressed and sent me and a friend to wrap school. It's so rewarding but also so frustrating! I have my hood in a matte carbon fiber, now that was a pain in the ass! The thickness of the material, like the neochrome is not malleable.

This is awesome bro, I own Dynamic Tinting and Windscreens, in Western Australia we have just gotten into the business of vinyl wrapping. Just caught this video and peaked my interest . Question ,, I have a 1956 Chevy BelAir ,, can you do a two tone color wrap ?? If you know the car , or look it up and see how the chrome trim lays on the car , you'll understand where I'm coming from ......... also , what kind of surface prep is required b4 using the wrap .... Hope you get this and can answer ,,,, Thanks in advance .....
Same problem here in Germany, told him wanna wrap my c coupe... He said it will be around 1900, I said OK let's do it. I drove to the shop he saw the car and said I made a mistake it will be a little bit more... Than he said 2700 the fuck is wrong with ppl 20m of wrap cost around 600- max 700 euros I want to pay the work OK but I don't want to be fucked a lot about the price
Kevin Kolodziej more expensive car makes ppl nervous and could be more liability. That’s why I get people on camera agreeing to things, acknowledge they seen my channel or they can’t party. There’s always a risk to the car with wraps because of a lot of unknowns like I talked about. If you tell him it’s good bro do what you need to do the price would remain the same lol.
Great Video, really down to earth presentation. You mentioned that we can ask what a car would cost to wrap. I have a 2015 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT Roadster. The top is canvas so it wouldn't be wrapped. I am looking to have it wrapped in the 3M 2080 HG77 High Gloss Sky Blue. It is currently white.
Awesome advice, you channel popped up on my home page, I don't wrap, nor would I have patience, I learned to airbrush and paint cars via UA-cam. Your pricing advice is spot on.
Lambochaser it took me a pretty long time actually. Almost 4 days. It was my first time so I messed up quite a bit but that’s why you always order more than you need! I did it slow and I did it after work little By little. Started with hood trunk and roof and worked my way to the sides. Once you get the hang of how wrap works it’s not too bad but there is definitely a learning curve.
@@ParadoxTheWrapper what!! No love for the VR-4 these people are crazy. That car is amazing. Had a 93 in high school RT-tt absolutely insane. For a stock car. It was leaps and bounds a head of it time.
$3,500 is a complete rip off. I'd suggest to just buy the material which is actually very cheap since it's just black ($500-$600). Do it yourself by investing about $100 more for materials. You'll save thousands trust me. Vinyl wrappers will charge you $800-$900 for a $500-$600 film. Labor will be something ridiculous like $1,000.
I lost it when the ducks came quacking at you like you were picking on your piglet lol… I’m so jelly you have your own small farm animals I grew up in the lifestyle on a farm in Puerto Rico god bless and keep up the good work some of us who are self employed didn’t finish school or have a college degree and make out on top learning on your own

Hey mate I’m from New Zealand but live and Australia. I’m 21 and starting up my own wrapping business completely inspired by you. I’d love to name the business after yours. I want to use some of your exclusive wraps for people that want them. There is next to no competition where I live as most vinyl wrapping business do commercial and charge around 7k AUD for full wraps. Nice I had a guy quote me $3500 without even seeing the car just because I said it was an AMG. crazy.
Lol yeah don’t tell them it’s an AMG just tell them it’s a mercedes, bet you it be a few hundred less
A shop wanted to charge me 3,500. To wrap a golf gti!! That’s almost a quarter what the whole car is worth!
Kevin Kolodziej more expensive car makes ppl nervous and could be more liability. That’s why I get people on camera agreeing to things, acknowledge they seen my channel or they can’t party. There’s always a risk to the car with wraps because of a lot of unknowns like I talked about. If you tell him it’s good bro do what you need to do the price would remain the same lol.
e val79 lol gotta pay to play or do it yourself for $500
Great Video, really down to earth presentation.
Dm me on instagram @ParadoxStyling or email me a pic of the car paradoxthewrapper@gmail.com
Awesome advice, you channel popped up on my home page, I don't wrap, nor would I have patience, I learned to airbrush and paint cars via UA-cam. Your pricing advice is spot on.
I did my car for 600$ for everything in 3m metallic dark red it was cheap and turned out just as good as these cars in this video
You did it yourself? If so, how long did it take?
Lambochaser it took me a pretty long time actually. Almost 4 days. It was my first time so I messed up quite a bit but that’s why you always order more than you need! I did it slow and I did it after work little
By little. Started with hood trunk and roof and worked my way to the sides. Once you get the hang of how wrap works it’s not too bad but there is definitely a learning curve.
Lol show your corners bro
I just want that VR-4 damn that's sexy as hell!
About time the VR4 got some love!
@@ParadoxTheWrapper what!! No love for the VR-4 these people are crazy. That car is amazing. Had a 93 in high school RT-tt absolutely insane. For a stock car. It was leaps and bounds a head of it time.
Yeah the MR2 is cool too.
I was quoted $3,500 for a matte black wrap on my BMW e90. Is this a fair price or not?
It depends who you are going with. Do the research, price comparison, and reference checks!
If you live in California, Newport Coast Auto will paint it Matte for that coast. They are in Costa Mesa California near Newport Beach.
I lost it when the ducks came quacking at you like you were picking on your piglet lol… I’m so jelly you have your own small farm animals I grew up in the lifestyle on a farm in Puerto Rico god bless and keep up the good work some of us who are self employed didn’t finish school or have a college degree and make out on top learning on your own
Good videos bro !! 🔥 Finally someone tells you the cost of wrapping
I'm new to the channel. Those pigs better be named "Bacon" and "Eggs"
Nice GTO, I imagine it was a pain in the ass to wrap.
Yeah the side vents and wing sucks lol
@2:54 we see the real owner of these cars 🐈

Also so glad to see you succeeding man! Much love!
Lmfao those ducks kill me every time 😂😂😂
Yeah they crazy
Peace out bro!
3:20 "There is no Board of Nursing for wrapping."
Why you gotta take a shot at a brother's dream?
When the pig popped out I was like wtf lol
same
I've watched CK Wraps for years. It was his original tutorial videos out of his garage that inspired me to try wrapping my own car a few years ago, and after a few tries it turned out better than I expected. I still watch him to this day, his tutorials are pretty informative.
Bro!!! That green yellow metallic on the left is amazing!!! Subbed
I tried putting Aluminium foil in my car lol
I guess my friend charging me 800 was a real good deal
Hope they do a real good work..thats the point lol
@@eltio21 yea he used to have his own shop now he doesn’t cause his baby mama took everything from Him when they divorced I work at a dealership and he does work for us and he does a good job
@@lucastheproducer995 that is great..well not the divorce part lol...but 800 its a great price...one guy wants 2000 to do my 2018 jeep wrangler...
Loved seeing the 3000gt and the 3g Spyder in the background at the beginning. Mitsubishi
Great video man. I happened to look up your business while watching this video in the background and found out you live in the same city as me! I probably won’t be getting a wrap soon until i feel like I need it. You seem like you really know your stuff so if/when I decide to get a wrap, I’ll be sure to check you guys out first!
Thanks! 🤙
Very through presentation! I just recently decided on getting my 2006 xB wrapped. Being brand new, this has helped me narrow my decisions! Thanks!
You do amazing work. Love the different colors of wrap. Would love to wrap my truck in one of your wraps and rock that stuff... love watching you
My first wrap I paid for materials then install was double material cost. Great vid with lots of info.
That cat had a wide-body kit installed. Your animals are very amusing and I'm glad you don't completely edit them out. you obviously enjoy them to some degree.
More VIEWS for this man !! Honest and helpful info ! (:
Are you going to put something on those cars those rainbow ones look cool
Hey mate I’m from New Zealand but live and Australia. I’m 21 and starting up my own wrapping business completely inspired by you. I’d love to name the business after yours. I want to use some of your exclusive wraps for people that want them. There is next to no competition where I live as most vinyl wrapping business do commercial and charge around 7k AUD for full wraps. I’m looking at charging half of that and make myself exclusive for constant business. Found you through mike and have not regretted it 🙂
Nice! Ya man just buy colors from ParadoxStyling.com and start practicing. A solo wrapper can be very successful vs large shops if you are good at it
