- With the live action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender coming out on Netflix, well I think it’s time to dive back in to the world of Avatar! And specifically, well were gonna take a look at the water benders of the northern and southern water tribes - ranking them all from weakest to strongest. So lets get to it!

Bloodbending is the freakiest power I've ever seen.
Amon should be higher than Katara. That psychic blood bending is arguably the best bending in regards to water.
But ocean and moon spirits being #1 is a hack. They're spirits. -.-
Katara is still the better and stronger waterbender so she is above him.
Putting Katara above Amon and Yakone is crazy. Yakone literally defeated that entire room including toph!!!! TOPH!
What is Toph supposed to do?, she can do anything if Katara bloodbends her too.

Edit: if anything I think a lot of Avatars have a natural affinity for power within their natural element, this was the case with Aang aswell & he’s regarded as the greatest ever of his bending discipline so it’s no suprise if Korra was powerful too.
Maybe she’s more ‘powerful’ than Katara but Katara was definetely better & more ‘skilled’

Maybe it’s just me but plant bending is weaker than bloodbending, very broken list sir. The first two bloodbenders mastered taking water from plants, trees, oh yea and thin air so there’s no way a simple plant bender is above a bloodbender AND katara definitely defeated that swamp monster or plant monster when they initially first met merely with regular water bending

tarlok, yakone and amon destroy katara, maybe she can resist bloodbending during full moon but honestly, their bloodbending should also get stronger thanks to that buff

Katara vs amon isnt even a close battle, amon bodies any character thats not and avatar and very easily. Katara absolutely has no way to combat his blood bending even on a full moon. Amon can shake of tarloks blood bending with no issue and tarlok is a seasoned trained blood bender. Katar gets slapped badly.

Amon would wreck katara the man way to fast agile .. the man dodge lighting point range , tarrlock blood bending didn’t work on him . I wouldn’t be surprised if tarrlock would Moo the floor with katara his blood bending is in another Lvl .. and then there’s there father omg . Katara at least # 4 or 5 easily

And the thing about getting close he can bloodbend her and then it gonna be easy. And what you said about getting close, in her fights katara stayd about 2-5 meters away from her oponents wich is just as close as amon needs her too be, but tarlok she can beat if she holds her distance
I don't think taking his bloodbending away would change much since he was strong as hell even with just water. He instinctually bend a giant water tornado after presumably not using direct waterbending for years. Hell the fact that he mastered the pshycic bloodbending at 14 and Tarrlok called him the strongest bender he has ever seen I think that Katara would get wrecked.
So, other than dieties, Katara is the greatest water bender!!!!!
