UPDATE, PLEASE READ! For those who use Vehicle Simulator, there is another way to add in the elements that I forgot to cover, making what I said at 10:00 useless, and this new way will make it easier for you to get elements instead of downloading another addon with them. (Sorry I didn't include it, but I am including it now right here.) Select your ship, and then go to the design tab, then go to elements and if your ship does not have elements, click "Save Elements" and it should create some for you! Here is an example: i.gyazo.com/7dcab93b1e19cba958cfa09d29760e15.jpg
There is another way for VSF! Press v - Design - Elements - body - dz Configuring the dz makes it sink like it would in vsf. But you can’t control it to sink starboard, port, stern. It normally goes bow. If I want it to sink stern I just use max float elements.
Thanks for this. I always used the "capsize-submerge-capsize" method, good if you want Titanic to sink with a port list. Also, I see you have the old version of VS7. I have the update 7.5, which makes the graphics like VSF. I have VS 7.0 nostalgia, but I prefer the updated 7.5 graphics. Also, voice reveal. Noice.
Yeah, I have 7.0 because I couldn't get 7.5. But I hoped this video helped a bit. Now, that my voice is revealed, wonder if any day I will reveal my face, not sure about that one though.
Recently I tried something with Virtual Sailor, and I don't know why I had never thought of it before. I decided to duplicate my copy of Hudizzle's Titanic, having one for sailing, and another for sinking. That way I won't have to change the original ship's mass. I actually made two duplicates, one of which sinks at a higher angle than the other. That way I feel that I can recreate the sinking as accurately as possible, considering the limitations of the program. In my opinion, it's my own way of honoring the lives that were lost, by trying to imagine what it was they had gone through.
@@G011d3n I would like to thank you for making this tutorial, however. I wouldn't have known the trick about changing the ship's mass if not for this video.
@@G011d3n Well the thing is, I don't actually have virtual sailor and the last time I tried to sink her in Ship Simulator I think I was 10 years old and I'm 22 now lol. I can't buy virtual sailor right now because my bank has decided to dispute a transaction stopping me from purchasing any games on steam for the next 4 weeks. So I guess I'm just going to watch videos of virtual sailor and throw temper tantrumes like I did waiting for my parents to buy me ship simulator.
For the elements method, if a ship doesn’t have elements.cfg, you can just go to the elements tab, and click „Save Elements” to create the points for the ship while not messing up the floating.
@G011d3n damn. Well it sucks that I can't find it anywhere anymore hardly. Because while the new graphics are OK, i really loved the 7.0 version and the wave settings it had as well as the simplicity of it
i think your the last person to still use virtual sailor as Ivan (the creator) has now change the game to virtual sailor next generation Ivan's newest ship game
From websites that have downloadable ships for the two games. Though some of them were either edited by me or other models converted to the game by me.
@@thefidgetspinner2007 You have to go in your Virtual Sailor and paste the ship folder in "boats" (for Vehicle Simulator you paste them in the "vehicles" folder.)
In the description there is a site where you can get ships with elements. If you want to use a different ship with the elements, the video will explain how to import the elements file to the ship you want to sink.
I can't really hear that much breathing, probably some noise going on in the background (the mic I used was pretty bad, and I probably put it a bit too close).
