Funny, half the comments asking questions that are clearly answered in the comments. Yes, the guns are angled downwards for safety, and to hole enemy ships below the water line so they take on water and sink. Yes, they're firing steel BBs. No, they're going to switch to firearms, no matter how small the caliber. No, they're not going to use explosives. Yes, the ships are recovered after they sink. No, the electronics don't have to be replaced after a sinking (well, almost never), they're sealed against water intrusion. Yes, torpedos may be possible but, no, not with explosives.
Ever watch the film Beau Geste? Thats cool stuff, thanks! It reminded me of the Battle of Tsushima (1906). I guess no ramming was allowed (or sinking). In the USA, those ships would be sinking or at least damaged more.
It's actually been a thing for centuries but I'll come back to that what these are is known as a bilge pump they suck water from the bottoms of watercraft and spew it out the top or sides and they are common place on nearly every vessel today from super carriers to bass fishing boats however the concept dates back to the days when putting cannons on larger ships first became a thing in combat as part of damage control there where entire teams whose job was to bucket water from the bottom of the ship and dump it out though it wasn't a very high paying or desirable job if a necessary one and the personnel designated for this task where hence known as bilge rats

On boats.
Dumb.
Sounds dumb as hell and too expensive
Yeah and die drowned
@@lemonhead1442 ironic coming from a guy called lemon head lmfao
Can we get a video of the damage at the end and if you dont have one already, a video going over all of the systems and how you built them?
I didn't know this was a thing until today.
Too bad there's no one in the area I live in that is interested in this hobby.
I can think of some ship designs and materials to use but have no experience in remote control setup.
I believe older ship battles would be fun as they're either left and right side fire.
Modern battles could be fun if you have multiple people to control the different cannons on a boat.
How many working turrets does your ship carry? And wouldn't it be more accurate with a somewhat slower turret traverse? Like 5
When Mom tells you to go outside when you're playing *World of Warships:*
I need to do that, at least once in my miserable life.
im suprised we dont have a really cheap entry level version, even 3d printed versions with super cheap rc equipment and a shop and a pond and have it cheap enough for anyone to play, or buy uer own two to dual, have a reallynice club, flying drone battles too.
That's gorgeous! Is this widely spread among the US or it's enjoyed only in one town/county?
There are clubs all across the US. This particular group is in California but there's been a club within a few hours drive everywhere I've lived.
I've never seen this anywhere at any time in the US and I've spent my entire life here, so I feel like it's a relatively niche hobby.
That said this is a big place with a lot of people in it so I'm certain it can be found if you ask around and do a little research on it
@@kotori87gaming89 how do I find these kind of clubs? Is there a website for it?
@@001sharpshot Why yes there is! UA-cam generally doesn't like directly posting links (except for spambots, apparently) but if you do a quick google search for "RC Warship Combat" and I guarantee you'll find it.
Вот это я понимаю, настоящее мужское хобби👍
What are they shooting?
Peanuts
Metal BB's. The hulls are fiberglass except for the broadsides which have windows blocked by very thin wood.
Thank you youtube and the algorithm gods by bringing me here when I had no idea this such event ever existed
I don't have a model wartime submarine, but I do have a model submarine. I want to make it a war submarine, then I can fight like you sorry I'm not that good at english :)
Your english is pretty good!
thanks but i can only speak german 😅
Now that was a thrilling action packed video
What would be really epic imo is if you rigged the barrels up with firework artillery shells
It is crazy how far I feel this could go for example if you had a private lake with Dr connected to the ships you could be in a safe place allowing much more dangerous ammunition I can also see planes being used in this I'm a big sugar rocket guy and you could totally attack a rocket engine to a rc plane awesome video I have been looking for something like this.
Guns are too low...
They’re low so that they can hit the enemy below the water line so they sink
But wouldn’t a shot be more likely of puncturing if it has to travel through an inch of water to hit the hull, vs 3 inches of water
2.5cm vs 7.5cm to clarify
@@taylorgrasman8174 That's the trick, isn't it. Sometimes I have time to adjust, other times I have to take whatever I can get.
I don't know why but it reminded me of that school trip to a lake and i had the brilliant idea to start a naval battle with my friends while we were on the boats
Dang, that cargo ship can zoom
Yeah, let's say it's "a little over scale speed" 😉
Oh mk
just found this on my recommended. this is genuinely cool af
HOW DID YOU MAKE THIS???? I love these ships so much.
This is peak "male fantasy" right here.
Average Bismarck activities:
Everybody gangsta until you hear:
"All slow ahead flood the aft trim tanks!"
This is freaking awesome. I wonder if people could do this with foam tanks
Just train little squirrels to load and fire... 😆
Damnit Steve, you knocked out my crew.
That French ship was like a frickin god while that little blue one sat in the lagoon to die.
3:16 Ramming speed!
“Evacuation process is now underway. I will go to the detonator, and start the countdown.”
Awesome video!! I've never seen anything like this, and I love it!
Im suing youtube for not putting this on top page
Looks like fun how much does one of those cost
To build from scratch? Probably a couple hundred if you know what you are doing and make everything watertight on the first run.
Would be cool if it had ballast flooding controls to increase elevation of the guns.
*USS TEXAS INTENSIFIES*
I want to hear some one yell "YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP!"
COOL
I remember watching these 12 or 13 years ago.
Imagine one of these with Ruger .22 rounds. (that's probably cheating though)
What projectile is being shot from them?
If only you were better at aiming and shooting this video would have been cool. You had 1000 opportunities to shoot and didn’t
The video is already cool because the amount of engineering skill is impressive.
Its still cool but i agree about the aim 😂
Battleship board game but with these guys... you don't need to guess the enemy but the range.
А-150
Ever watch the film Beau Geste? Thats cool stuff, thanks! It reminded me of the Battle of Tsushima (1906). I guess no ramming was allowed (or sinking). In the USA, those ships would be sinking or at least damaged more.
ЧТО?
"An Enemy Dreadnought has arrived."
5:17 Does that ship have a pump making sure she don't sink, or is it part of the engines to move?
That's a pump.
It's actually been a thing for centuries but I'll come back to that what these are is known as a bilge pump they suck water from the bottoms of watercraft and spew it out the top or sides and they are common place on nearly every vessel today from super carriers to bass fishing boats however the concept dates back to the days when putting cannons on larger ships first became a thing in combat as part of damage control there where entire teams whose job was to bucket water from the bottom of the ship and dump it out though it wasn't a very high paying or desirable job if a necessary one and the personnel designated for this task where hence known as bilge rats
вот он тимейт, который постоянно в мою команду попадает
impressive engineering, btw i watched from Philippines.
What are you shooting out the cannons ?
Hey where can you find and purchase a r/c ship like these because I was kinda interested in getting one myself?!.
Beautifull 😍🤩🤩👏👏👏👏
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 and love from #CSTU (#Chandpur_Science_and_Technology_University).
The day we can start 3d printing these on mass will make me happy
