Thank You, Sir!! GREAT Video as always! That STAR Clamp blew me away when I saw it being made! Wow!! Excellent grinder!! Mish Mosh Monday is always FANTASTIC!!
I had so much fun with the clamp challenge! Everyones clamps turned out great! I'll have to grab one of those Bauer grinders, my Porter Cable Grinder has started to rattle pretty bad.
I think the weak point of those style grinders is the right angle gear box mechanism and the switch. I really believe for $40 this grinder looks great!
Great info as always John. 👍🏻 I have the old fashioned strikers for my torches. Was not sure what the advantages of the new ones were until now. Thanks for the review on these ad the other items. Rats! Now I have to wait two more days for another video 😄😄
I really enjoy these Mosh Videos! Yanno those grinders come in two sizes there are 4" and 41/2" ones out there I own both I learned the hard way because the wheels do not interchange. I have used those bucket boss products for years.Especially the jumper cables bag. I swear by them. Keeps my cables untangled. The downside to propane torches is they will not melt silver solder which is code now in most concrete slabs and foundations. Thanks for all the good info Scout!
Hi David! They used to make MAPP gas which was a nice go between... Now they make Map-Pro but it doesn't get as hot.. I didn't know they made 4" grinders! I thought they started at 4.5" That's good to know! Thanks David!
Great video as always Scout. That little screwdriver set is made in Rhode Island by Moody Tools. I've got a few of their picks and they are pretty nice, especially the ones with the magnetic handles.
Great MMM!!! Now I have to look at my torch for that button on top!👍 The clamp entries are fantastic!! I think I have to pick up some bucket boss tool bags for the cars! Nice product! I'm glad your enjoying the grinder, looks like the Bauer with the handle is a nice addition. Thanks for the tool review!
Great mosh! The coins in the c-clamp was a neat idea, i laughed so hard i spit soda out of my nose when you said "his was the only clamp worth anything" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Cheers
I like a mix of handled grinders and handle-less. I tend to use the handled ones for heavy work, slitting or whatnot, and the handle-less for work where I'm moving the grinder around a lot (smoothing, wirewheeling) or where I'm moving the part around a lot. My old style propane torch is nice, but you really can't get any heat into things even with a 7" flame. I don't think I could live without a good oxi-actalyne rig, they're so useful for big work.
Hello Noah! Propane is the perfect starter torch! It will unfreeze rusty nuts, warm up cold metal and strip paint! LOL Nothing beats a Oxyacetylene outfit though... However it can be intimidating to the newcomer to the workshop... =) I do almost all my work in the basement and I still don't feel comfortable having a big unit down there, =) Thanks!!!!!!
I look forward to Monday mish mash. On the tool roll with the long straps, fold up the excess of the straps about 2 fingers wide and bind them with a bit of insulation tape. This keeps them from flapping around and can easily be cut when you need them longer.
This is why I love Mish Mosh Monday! I agree the Bauer grinder looks great, but c'mon... it's red! No other vendor has a chance! Ha ha!! Seriously I agree on loving the 4½ inch angle grinder. I bought one for the first time about 18 months ago, and anymore there is hardly a day that goes by that I'm not using mine.
Hi Anna! The old torch heads were great but the auto ignition heads are just convenient for most projects. They aren't cheap but I inherited the two I have and like them a lot. =) Thanks!
Yeah...for $42, I’ll keep reaching for my Zippo! I had no idea the new heads were so expensive! I don’t use one much, so the old school stuff works just fine. Burned my finger using map gas last week...stupid mistake on my part! That hurt!
We missed the clamp change not the Stanley box cutter though a while back. We like and use the blow lamp or torch depending on your country of origin, LOL. That was a first zeroing in a screw driver wooden handle at that wow always learning around here. Nice tool ID history lesson. Lance & Patrick.
That flea market looks so great. Wish I could go sometime. I really like the video, only thing is that now I really need a no tool safety guard for my angle grinder!
Hi Alex! You know my other grinder needs a screwdriver to adjust the guard and it was always a pain... I think I might loosen the screws on that grinder guard so I can adjust it by hand but tight enough that it won't move on its own! =)
There is a guy on UA-cam named aVe and he talked about the wooden handle screwdrivers once and said that the wood gives a better grip because it can absorb some of the oils that might be on your hand as opposed to plastic which doesn’t absorb anything and that the plastic handle tends to spin in your hand if you are torquing down a difficult screw with slightly greasy hands.
Great show . Keep an eye on ALDI store .i think they are now in the states they sell a adaptor for the angle grinder it turns it into a chop saw . Very handy and they are cheap but strong . Love tool rolls as well they are useful indeed . I've got two similar but mine are ex-army surplus store. The surefire torch lite then press the silver button on the top and the trigger is locked on ,press trigger to release like a drill great tools never would be without one . Thanks John enjoyed 👍

I would return the cheap tool roll to amazon and use the credit for a second buck boss roll! They make an awesome cable bag too, I use it for the jumper cables in the car.
Hi Bert! I really think you will benefit from owning one! Even the cheapest model is worth having over nothing! A rusty bolt is no match for a little heat! -=D

Map gas is good for silver soldering or brazing, your littlestown vice which you put the steel plug in , could have been brazed, just another way of fixing. If you are going to buy a torch to buy a map gas as it burns hotter than propane. The old paraffin torches were a dangerous contraption did not get it hot enough and you had a flame thrower instead of a torch. Tool rolls, I like the ones that you see each tool rather than pouches, and if you have a gap you have left out a tool, pouches are good for small tools. We are all different and have our own way of working.
Hi Tony- Unfortunately Mapp gas is not being produced anymore (as of 2008) the replacement is Map-Pro gas that burns slightly hotter then propane but more expensive.. Propane is a must have and the next step up would be a nice oxyacetylene two tank torch for cutting and brazing/welding. Propane is cheap and available everywhere here. =D Thanks
I'm liking the Bucket Boss tool rolls. I have an extra set of tools in a tool box that is rather large to carry in the truck, now I may get one of those. I'm liking the torches. I have one as well and the Kennedy tool chest I bought had an extra torch tip and after a scrubbing, it puts out more heat than the original. I watched a video by @JimmyDiresta and he makes a wrench roll. I have a ton of canvas I'm thinking of trying in the future. I'm liking the Bauer grinder. My Craftsman 4" grinder is wearing out after a rigorous maintenance cycle during it's life. I really liked those clamps. I wish I had time to do one. Between my motor in the '64 (I'm slow) and the honey do's..... After the next 10 work days, I may have time to do things like that. I had an original torch probably from the 80s and it had three different size tips and it came in a blue metal box so I know it's pretty old. The problem is I could never get it started I would have to actually turn the gas on and then turn it off and then start using the striker and when the gas was just about done it would light and then I would have increase the gas to light it again. I could never light it with the gas fully on it just wouldn't light. Needless to say I never used it very much and I'm glad that you've gun review on the newer models. This thing is definitely going to the Goodwill
