    Great Video 👍 Love seeing that visible padlock 🔐, that is awesome! 👍 Those Bakelite wire nuts are fantastic!, I would agree they are better Quality as compared to the Ideal ones👍. Great information and demonstration of the mechanical fire alarm. I thought it was awesome to see and very interesting 👍👍. That Royal Gorge train 🚂 looks amazing,What a Great Looking Train 👍👍. That would be a awesome trip to see all the scenery in the Mountain ⛰ state

    Thank you for another nice show, one cool thing about that railroad light is the incandescent bulb and how it fades in and out as the filament heats and cools, reminds me of the tail light of a 1965 Ford Galaxy, those cars had style, not like the cars today that all look like a worn bar of soap.

    • @ScoutCrafter

    Being as we live in Colorado, I took my daughter and granddaughter on the Royal Gorge train about 4 years ago. It's great fun, with wonderful scenery. As to the fire alarm, I like it, but as a paramedic/firefighter, we always cautioned that these are not considered to be early warning devices. By the time the alarm goes off, you will have a fire that is pretty much heavily involved, since it is doubtful the alarm will be directly near the point of origin. Great show, as always. Wayne out West

    • @ScoutCrafter
      @ScoutCrafter  Місяць тому

      Wayne- The funny thing is when you hear that alarm you’ve got to GO! They were pretty impressive for the time they came out- even more impressive seeing they still work after 60+ years with zero maintenance. 😃👍

    RR light comment. I retired from a East of the Mississippi RR, after 40+ years. When I started, there were up to five people per freight train, two to three on the engine, and two on the caboose. Lights like this replaced the caboose, and two to three employees. On the engine: an engineer, a flagman, and I can't remember the title of the other person on the engine (kinda an asst. engineer). On the caboose: a conductor and brakeman.
    Now there isn't a caboose, only a flashing red light, called an ETD (end of train device). On the engine: an engineer and a conductor. When's the last time you seen a caboose, other than in a RR museum? We (wife & I) really enjoy your videos. Thanks.

    Nice items. There is one in Arizona called the Verde Canyon that is great. If you watch How the West Was Won the final shoot out at the railroad station was done where this train stops. Our house is right next to an old train track which I am glad is gone but out in the country it is a multi use trail and even 40 + years after it was pulled I still find spikes. At least once a year during my walks. Frost brings them up and then when the trail is graded they really pop up. Probably because they weren't to careful when they tore the tracks out. I have one on my desk I found not long ago.
