John, Your Armoral comment made me laugh my ass off. I can so relate. You only do that once. Nice Halogen lamp restoration. I have a construction type Halogen lamp with a tripod and two lamp heads. Similar to your lamp. So my setup could be using 7 or 8 amps. You can almost hear the meter whining as it turns fast😂. I wish someone would make an LED replacement bulb for those halogen bulbs. That would be nice. Maybe one of these days when I have nothing to do I’ll try and convert my lights to LED’s. Probability of actually getting to it?? Low😢. Your aluminum crushfest reminded me of seeing a car crusher at a junk yard for the first time. I’ll bet that was as fun to do as it looked. Nice score on the DeWalt box and the lamp. It’s amazing what people throw away. Thanks for another entertaining video. Keep “m”coming. Best Regards, John
Boy that Dake is powerful. The poor man flea market gave me a remembrance. One of my older brothers walking home from school through the alley picked up a serviceable chalkboard easel. That’s what my older sister taught me the alphabet and then math. Good times. She had fun playing teacher and I learned at an early age.
Lol...that was great watching the aluminum get smashed. I dont drink much soda or canned beer, if i did i would turn my electric over hydraulic log splitter and make it a can crusher. Great stuff. Cheers
This is now in the top 3 of Scoutcrafter episodes! Aw the Dake action in this one! Very cool ! The lamp the 3 way switches. Wouldn’t have thought it till you found it John. Big score on the tool box ! The seal in the lid is still good ! Nice !
Great video as always. Finally able to log into my UA-cam account after months of trying. You definitely make my Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays much better. Sit back and relax for 10-20 minutes and forget about the rest of the world. Thanks
Hi John.. what a very satisfying video , especially with the dake.. I could watch things being squashed for hours 🤣 I remember the armour… once I shinned up the rubber car pedals and floor mats.... never again !!🤣 great episode, cheers Rob
Great video, Back in the day out on site we used 500w floodlights all the time, In the winter Guys would bring in meat pies in foil containers, set them on top of the lights 30 minutes before lunch, they would be bubbling hot in half an hour 🍺 👍 😊
Great episode, Scout! Love seeing how much solid aluminum is in a soda can and a sheet of aluminum foil. Real eye opener. Always amazed at your finds on the poor man's flea market. It's the walk that pays dividends beyond the health benefits it affords. Blue Cross Blue Shield should jump on this idea to motivate its subscribers to get out and walk, lol.
I too have a "collection" of useful repurposed aluminium, I'm tempted to try and melt some down, but as you demonstrated you need a whole lot of cans to make much solid bar ! Great saves from the poor man's flea market, I still have one of the halogen lamps, I considered getting one of the LED bulbs to fit it but I never have it on for that long so guess I'll just use up my box of ten replacement bulbs first and enjoy the heat from it ! That Dewalt rolling toolbox was a great find and cleaned up beautifully ! We had a similar spray polish called Back to Black, made everything nice and shiny but you didn't want to clean up your foot pedals with it ! 😬🙈
We have the same five shade light, our grandchildren use it over their Lego table. When it’s useful life ends it’ll go to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. As for halogen lamps, after burning my fingertips years ago handling a bulb I’m happy to see them go, along with incandescents. My engineer friend says Thomas Edison would agree with LED bulbs and all the advancements in lighting; he would be amazed. Thanks again.
Hi Scoutcrafter that is very interesting it reminds me of on one of those gold mining shows the guy melted down aluminum cans and made a bar out of them.
John, first time commenter. Been watching your channel for a couple of years. My dad was also an all around handyman. He taught my brothers and I so much, my goodness I wish he was still with us. Thanks for sharing your talents and for jogging my memories of tools, his shop and especially him.
Hey Albert- What we wouldn’t do for one more time to spend with Dad…. I think we can best honor them by living up to the high standards they had…. Thanks! 😃👍
Love that poor man’s flea market…going back when I was a kid in grade school walking home with my other gangsters we would pick through interesting trash on trash day well one day at the bottom of a box there was a bunch of pennies and the massive scramble was on…it was if there was gold in that box …what a score…we all went home with money in our pockets…🤩…🖖
You did get some neat items on your walk! The tool box was great but I was surprised at how nice the lamp looked. Thanks for sharing this, especially the Dake.
Always fun to play around in the shop, me I play around and take things apart just to see what makes them tick, also salvage what ever I can, to make or repair what ever comes along. I almost forgot you had the DAKE,Nice score on the poor man’s flea market. Thanks for the video.
John, Whenever you say 'lets go to the dake, everyone loves the dake'. I know we are in for a restoration treat! Please keep doing what you do. I continue to learn so much, your tutorials are insightful and you point out the pitfalls for the novice. Yes, I am sure everyone loves the dake, its one of my favorites for sure! Thank you again, for a fantastic channel.
After seeing that halogen light wattage I looked up if they make led bulb replacements, sure enough I found some on amazon. I'm going to try some out for my old work lights.
Hi Scoutcrafter, Crushing the can may be my 2nd most memorable video. The one I remember the most is when you made the toilet paper roller. I honestly enjoy them all. Thank you for the entertainment after my workday
Hi John. Love your over the top can crusher 😁. You sure made some great finds on your walk. Really like that light that you found. The 3 way one. Have a great rest of the week. 👍👍👍❤..
Always liked the word "wing nut" Good if you have some outdoor activity at night like shade tree auto repair. He scores on the poor man's flea market. That is a nice tool box. Wonder what happened to the tool tray? Good for some power tools..
Great stuff on the poor man's flea market its really amazing what people throw out and the Dake what a great press it was fun to see how small you get the can
I one found a Stanley upright tool box of a similar ish type of design on my version of the poor man’s flea market. I took it home and it had a few nuts, bolts, screws, rawl plugs, screwdrivers, scrapers etc in it. It also had a barely used set of ratcheting ring spanners too which was a great find. There was also another tool that looked like a ratcheting screwdriver but wasn’t and I couldn’t for the life of me work out what it was. Asked a couple of buddies and they didn’t know either. My neighbor popped by workshop one day and I was telling him about it. He took a look at it and immediately knew what it was. It was a doctor who sonic screwdriver toy.😂 This damn thing had me fooled for months.
Love the Drake is like watching someone work with a bulldozer so much raw strength. John, I'm so amazed by all that stuff you find , here in south Florida no one throws anything , they sell everything
Your halogen light is a fire hazard. If I remember correctly, the bulbs came in 3 different wattages. 100, 300, and 500. They used these for lighting up the America flag at night. They always burned one end of the socket. A little twist or remove the bulb and put it back and they would light up. A very poor light because they needed continued repair . The tool box was a good score. Thank You
I had a friend that used armor on all his golf club grips. First Two he used took off like a helicopter and made it all the way to the water hazard. He was unable to clean the rest enough so he ended up throwing them away.
At the 1.58 mark I love the added sound effect from the HPC .... nice find on the tool box as for the lamp that looks like a octopus i would just left that it in the trash the one you real want Do you remember the multi lights on a spring pole that went floor to ceiling with about 5 lights and had individual Switches and was made of real decorative metal ??? Good video Mr John BTW whats up with Snoopy is he drinking the can of Marvel mystery oil LOL
On the lamp - since it works and didn’t blow the fuse - your lamp was ok. Normally a good idea to check for continuity between the hot and neutral and continuity between either the hot or neutral and the metal stand or for some units to ground. I was in a lab once where the metal benches were not grounded and there was 60 volts between adjacent benches. We learned to only touch one bench at a time (for some odd reason). 7.5 ounce pop cans - when I was younger, I did not understand how anyone could drink just 7.5 ounces. Now that I am older, I understand that if I do not want to visit the john every hour on the hour….
Brian- Before I serviced my Craftsman Motor with the wire wheels, if I touched the motor and the dryer next to it I got Zapped!!! 🫣😂. Never figured out what was up with that. 😂👍
The motor might have had an electrical connection between hot and the case. Does not have to be a dead short to get zapped. A large resistance with 100 volts can provide a shock.@@ScoutCrafter
Our Moms wouldn't have let us play together when we were kids John, we think to much alike, can you imagine what we could of possibly done with a chemistry set as youth 🤯😳🤣👨🔬🧑🔬💥💥💥💥💥
I remember the day after the 4th of July we would comb the streets looking for loose firecrackers then we would cut cans in have and squeeze them together to make mini mortars. What fun! 😃👍
I would rather repair items and use them or give them to friends that can use them I hate the new throw it away generation no body wants to try to repair the items anymore it's a lost art
Love the mid week mosh some really cool stuff scout great way to get over hump day God bless 45 keep him in your thoughts he’s having a tuff time right now see you Friday 👍🇺🇸🙏🗽🇳🇿🦅🪖🌟45
Hey John, our Dads would have got along great. My Dad taught me the joy in making something new again.

NICE Restoration on the old pipe wrench! & yes John, you’re SO right about the advice our Fathers be right about SO MANY THINGS!
Very fun. The Dake and aluminum is every kids dream. Love the poor man’s flea market finds.🇺🇸

Same here, I love how far we have come in lighting of all types! 😃👍
Pretty cool crunching down that aluminum and the poor man's flea market is always fun. 👍🤓👍
Hi Scoutcrafter that is very interesting it reminds me of on one of those gold mining shows the guy melted down aluminum cans and made a bar out of them.
Love the tool box and happy to see you saved the paint can opener. I hate using a screwdriver to open paint cans.
I agree. The tool box was a great find
Good Dake-isms, a winter light and a nice tool box and happy almost weekend! God Bless!

Visited my daughter here in Middletown, NY. What did the grandkids show me - a Spotted Lantern Fly. They’ve made it up here.
I really find invasive insects amazing. We’ve had so many different type- It will be interesting to see how this goes. 😃👍

I Love watching episodes like this. It is so satisfying to know that you take care of the things you found on your was back home..

Thanks Chris! 😃👍
That dake is impressive. .I bet that was fun... good free stuff!
Señor Juan, your dad was a very wise man. We man, like to fix things although we do not use them later.... but someone will, sooner or later.
Hey, I learned a new word today. Copacetic. Never heard that one before. Excellent. 👍
Back in the 70’s it was a cool word thrown around to impress the ladies. 😂👍
Fun times with the Dake.
Finding hidden treasure is always a win. 😁😎
Good night at the Flea Market!! Well done Mate!!☻
Dr Pepper.
Nectar of the Gods!
I knew there was I reason I liked you!
Great free pile finds!
I challenge you to unfold that foil to be 9' again!
HA Ha ha!
It’s amazing that you can get 9’ of foil from that little puck! 🤔😃👍

That’s a great score on the tool box and it cleaned up looking brand new. Nice job 👍
Fix things and put them back into service. What a great feeling.
Awesome show today and glad you rescued that good stuff from being wasted 👌 very fun with crushing the aluminum too I can’t get enough of that.
Hi Scout , Some Good Scores There ! I Have One Of Those Lights I Think Myself . One of Those Around Here Somewhere! 😂
The poor mans flea market motto is... It's good for nothing 😂. Best deal in town.
Great episode. Poor man’s flea market seems to always deliver.
Great video. Not a fan of tool boxes, but I am a great fan of free. Your electricity education is always so interesting. Thank you.
Same here- I like roll aways much better! 😃👍
Yep. This was fun. I love messing around in the Shop. Makes me want a Dake even more. Do you remember the series "Will it Blend".
Yes! Those blenders took a beating! 😂👍
Great stuff on the poor man's flea market its really amazing what people throw out and the Dake what a great press it was fun to see how small you get the can

Good finds today John. I enjoyed the dake today. Thank You for sharing! You must have a huge attic 😂
WHO WILL PICK YOUR HOUSE WHEN YOU DOWNSIZE??
I loved the Dake...Pretty interesting crush....thnx for sharing...
Still use armor all on my power tools after I clean them up
Great finds! I have one of those lamps, they’re handy. My dad also loved picking the poor man’s flea market, and so do I.
Brilliant fun with the dake👍
What kind of maniac doesn't love the Dake? Great find with that tool box as well.
Looking forward to the “Ring-Side” Bell restoration!
Love the Drake is like watching someone work with a bulldozer so much raw strength.
John, I'm so amazed by all that stuff you find , here in south Florida no one throws anything , they sell everything
People are always moving here in NY… some things just don’t pay to put on the moving truck. 😃👍
Great find with DeWalt tool box
I was saying the same thing
I wonder what would happen if you tried to turn your aluminum slugs in the mini lathe?
I was thinking the same thing.
Man, that tool box is an amazing find.

They were big in the 90’s- Pre LED. Now they are dinosaurs. 😂👍
I also have a halogen light like the one shown and it doesn’t have a switch either.🤔. Good trash pickings, Thanks
"Snoop" Abides, txs for sharing...
The Stainless Pentad Lamp is Cool.
I had a friend that used armor on all his golf club grips. First Two he used took off like a helicopter and made it all the way to the water hazard. He was unable to clean the rest enough so he ended up throwing them away.
Another great episode in the can. Minting your own challenge coins in the near future?
Makes you feel like a man, when fixing things. Hard to explain to some.. I like that toolbox!

Tension pole lights not Spring pole lights sorry my mistakes
Great tool box.
Always enjoyably.
That is a nice toolbox
Thanks John.

My first thought was I wonder if nine feet of foil is the same weight as a 7.5 oz can?
You find alot of great stuff. Do you keep all of it? Give some to friends and relatives?sell them?trade?
Give away most. I just hate to see it tossed when still good. 😃👍
like the Dewalt battery tools. thinking about getting a Dewalt chainsaw. after I figure out what to use it for. thanks, Scoutcrafter. eagle.
Milwaukee is really leading the way with battery technology for the money. (Makita is top but pricy). They have a awesome new battery pole saw! 😃👍
Sell that light to a protagonist 😂
Love the Dake. Can you update us on when the next LI Tool Meet @ the Frank Brush Barn will be?
Thanks
I believe it’s Thursday August 24th 5-7pm. 😃👍
Thank you John.
I looked on line but I didn’t find any information.
We need more fixers in the world today
Soon the fixers will be the kings the way things are going
Fast fifteen minutes......more good stuff, thanks.
Thanks John
Dean- Back in the day the Number 7 products really were popular. Once clear-coats came out everything changed. 😃👍
That Dake and aluminium can can be a trivia question... It looks like it's reduced to the size of a quarter, but how many quarters tall is it???
I should measure it but it’s between 5/16 and 3/8 thick I imagine. Very dense! (Like me) 😂👍
Density by Dake!
Ours just comes the long road of life
Woo hoo, poor man's flea market!
Fun!
HEAT GUN WILL TAKE THAT DEWALT AD RIGHT OFF.......KEEP IT MOVING.!.
EXCELLENT.
Gotcha 👍👍🔩🔩
lucky find on the toolbox
Looks like our Dad's would have let us go out in the street and play thought 🤔🤫😮
BOOM 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We thought you said "date." Oh well Dake ok.
Recycle those?
Thanks and cheers
I know for me.recycling is giving something--someone a second chance.
What fun! 😃👍
My wife says if we were together they might have locked us up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Careful with that aluminum dust on your hands there John, that stuff goes through the skin and accumulates in your liver.
Where's the watertmelon?
For a second I thought your recycling is very strict
I have a friend who retired from sanitation- He said most stuff winds up in the same place….
I would rather repair items and use them or give them to friends that can use them I hate the new throw it away generation no body wants to try to repair the items anymore it's a lost art
Some people are appalled by “used” items. I understand but we always had old used stuff in my house. 😂👍
Love the mid week mosh some really cool stuff scout great way to get over hump day
God bless 45 keep him in your thoughts he’s having a tuff time right now see you Friday
