This was delightful and Joe was even respectful enough to NOT constantly interrupt Mr. Sedaka. I lost my only sister this past September and this brought back precious memories. She loved Neil Sedaka and played his music over and over again.
Hi Joe, Hi Neil! I had the pleasure to meet Neil years ago when my band played a brief summer set before him at Crystal Park , Worcester Massachusetts. I was familiar with all his music from the Brill Building onward in his brilliant career. That day when they geve him the microphone my jaw dropped. I swear Angels came out when he sang! They still do..Thanks Neil, for being so consistently great and so humble at the same time. Why aren't our Rock n Roll Forefathers (like Neil) not in the Rock n Roll Halll of Fame? He certainly should be. -doug
You are a really wonderful man, good singer and very good pianist too, I used to hear your songs when I was a teenager (I was borned in 1947 march 25): I have many favorites like You mean everything to me, I must be dreaming (both very romantic), run sanson run and so on. God bless you for ever Neil, most of all because you are a very humble man in spite you're a famous singer. Congratulations and salutes.
My favorite is Stairway To Heaven I grew up as a teen with Neil Sedak as music what a great musician an d songwriter and I still listen to his music. Love to hear him playing th e bells on the song Church Bells M ay Ring. Shout out to Neil from Lex ington Ky
I loved Neil Sedaka in my teenaged years, I am a Jamaican, and he was very popular in Jamaica. I was SO happy to see this interview this morning. Thank you Joe.
Love it that 1. Neil gets into music theory, assuming the audience will figure it out if he shows why it works (which we do). 2. Joe and the producers gave us some credit and didn’t cut it. 3. That Joe started singing in The Immigrants.
What a prized interview you have Joe, and he was in the same restaurant, though you were emboldened to come up to him knowing what a prize catch Neil Sedaka is, and you to him as it turned out ! Like you went fishing, in that restaurant, and hooked a willing fish. What a prized-catch for an interview really.
Favorite People. There's Charlie Rose. So many nights we watched him after Late Night News. It's 1 a.m.,. No, it's 2 a.m., in the ginmilll. New Year's Day. Joe Scarborough and Mika Bregniezski (sp) perched on stools. Commandeering the ivories is Neil Sedaka making the keys sparkle. The saloon door opens. In walks in Paul McCartney, wearing heavy black Navy jacket. Paul saz, "Baby, it's cold outside." Neil does a twill with his right hand fingers. Willie Nelson and Stevi Nicki take to the microphone. Paul holds a green tea. Sedaka goes into the slow version of "Breaking Up is Hard to Do." Everyone sings. Immortality is achieved.
I’m happy to give my honest opinions now so everyone thinking of running in 2024 can do some soul searching before they do so. Not that my opinion has to matter, but it’s worth considering.

"Solitaire" is my favorite Neil Sedaka song. Hits home and brings me to tears. 👍👌♥️
I could listen for hours to Neil Sedaka, sitting at the piano playing and telling how he did it. Thank you Neil, thank you so very much.

In 1990 I was a dancer for a tv show that featured him and I got to be his “calendar girl.” I was in heaven. Lol. So talented.
This was awesome. My fav' song by Sedaka is "Workin' On A Groovy Thing".

Oh my, Joe kept his mouth shut and let his guest do most of the talking. I'm in shock.
Too bad you refuse to do likewise.
Was in my country and watch his show in Araneta Colisium 1960's
So bring on Paul Anka who was at his best at the same time Sedaka was.

Yeah legends and how this situation plays into their careers matter to me. The Beatles are one example. Elton John another.
What a fine video such a nice man such gret music...
Great stuff! For once we get something good about America
