Based on this trailer alone, it is VASTLY superior to the flawed Masters of Cinema , Eureka! relase, which had washed out "sepia", and the notirious digitally scrubbed "coin drop" moment at the beginning of the film. If this gets a Criterion 4k then all is right with the world for getting this title into high resolution.
oh, boo hoo. I love the movie even if it's a beat up old 16mm print. Restorations are cool, and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into them, but I still love the atmosphere and experience of an old film that's been through the projector a hundred times. Something that can't be faked. People who have to make a Congressional case out of every single black spot on the screen are whiners.
@@MontagTheMagician You are so right and these old classics should never be in 4K and too much digital in an old movie and even digital in new movies destroy the feeling of real movies and cinema.
I actually prefer Eurekavideos Masters of Cinema release of this great classic. Eureka makes the best restorations of them all. I like Criterion too, but they don´t have so many good movies than Eureka.
I love the movie but the music is bloody awful. Someday a real composer will write some real music for these films instead of this tinkering doddering crap.
Hope you do Diary of a Lost Girl as well
that was my favourite of her two Pabst films

i love this film. i hope there's a new blu-ray coming.
Eureka! just put out a beautiful set in Europe
We don't want Eureka--we want Janus Films. It is superior to Master of Cinema.@@alexanderbucsis3825
criterion bluray this October

Interesting Trailer
Marvellous.
English title cards it seems? (My hope would be German with English subtitles.)
