honestly whatever content you put out we'll love. both playing live (even if you get emotional) doing post game commentary on recorded games is great content imho. so maybe do a live game once in a while and commentary games in between? either way, you should do what makes you happy and works best for you!

Agreed. EZ solution here is to put a 30sec voice over at the beginning or end explaining why ore wheat sheep destroys new players. Then the title would be justified. But if it gets him more clicks & views he's incentivized to do it, even if it makes him look like a grifter.

I think your comment in the start is true about you bringing people in, and you could view youtube as a whole as a kind of zero sum game, where you divert people on the platform away from other videos, and at your level, the zero-sum is at that level, but for giga creators, and youtube as a whole, the zero sum game is more cross-platform.

There are defensive placements, and then there is torpedoing your game. No idea what red was doing, especially since they have the wheat port. They could have had an amazing OWS set up if they secured 63 to 83, and probably hindered your game more than just blocking 62.
5 (Ore), 9 (Wheat), and 10 (Sheep) were literally the highest numbers rolled besides 7, and it wasn't even close, lol. Love the content though, and love the commentary!

On the last turn, why didn’t you use both year of plenties for 2 roads and then 3for1 all your cards for a third road? Looks like you missed a guaranteed win

UA-cam is definitely not a zero sum game. Poker UA-camrs have made their own economy for instance, and chess etc.

I wonder why you didn't take the 3-6-9 instead of the 2-9-10... it's much better production, and while it would make your ore more blockable, it would make your wheat less blockable, so perhaps it balances out.
He was expecting to get the 2-6 to balance out his wheat production. Taking the 3-6-9 would flood his hand with wheat early in the game while making it harder to make it to the 3:1 port without the wood.
Also, there is less ore on the board, making it more value able for trades.
Why didn't you go for a settle on the 8 sheep? Would've been really good with your high sheep, 3-1 port.
So… your plan is to get 3 more brick and 3 more wood while only having access to 1 pip of wood production?

This is so inefficient. It takes more cards per point to build 2 roads and a settle than it does to spend cards on devs and cities. Roads and settles are more inefficient when you don't have to 3 for 1 for them, and he has to 3 for 1 several times over. Also, unless he places both roads in one turn he creates an incentive for his opponents to work together to cut him off and how is he going to get 2 wood and 2 brick on the same turn?

Why don’t people use card stack for competitive play instead of dice? Feel like it makes the game more about luck than skill. Like for instance a single 3 didn’t get rolled in this game.
black could easily take 6:3, build to the 8 sheep get the best wheat, the best sheep and also be the ONLY one able to build roads having wood and brick, but instead he took the abysmal 6-3-11 and decided to stay the whole game without both sheep and wheat. Then he proceeded to trade his precious wood for trash. Why do people play tournaments if they don't even know the basics ?

Why don't you play Cities & Knights? It's much more interesting game and Catan originally was developed as it is in C&K.

I enjoy the Catan commentary, but consider speaking a bit slower. I usually have to change the speed to 0.75x to understand everything.

I like it when you yell at the computer; it's funny. And to some extent it is a zero-sum game. Now I just want Drew and Dylan since y'all have been uploading. Used to watch Phantom and Elly, but now I don't cuz it's like... I can't/don't want to spend two hours a day watching Catan lol... I have more important things.
