The fact that she's 34 years old and shes still lowering her PB
Champions never quit.
omg can i tell u!!!!
She just gets better and better!
Her and Gatlin are disproving the myth of sprinters in their 30s slowing down. Ultimately, it's not the age, but the injuries which tend to come the longer you've been maintaining the insane competitive schedule, which is the real limiting factor.
With a smart coach, proper training and a bit of luck we're going to see more sprinters continuing to get faster into their late 30s.
@@KX5Kat Yes injury is a very big factor, but age is still a very important factor. Muscle degeneration can begin as early as 30 years old, particularly so for fast-twitch muscles which are essential for sprinting. Right now I'll still say that SAFP and Gatlin are the rare few who are exceptions to the general rule. Many athletes still follow the trend of experiencing decreased performance once they are in their 30s.
I have so much love for Talou! Just look at how overjoyed she was for Fraser-Pryce. That's what this sport is about: raising the bar, and raising a smile.
If that's what it's about then you never end up wining anything.
I noticed it too my god. Great sportsmanship🤗
would be nice if ET and SAFP showed the same loe for each other.
@@1murkeybadmayn They do!!! It's just for most people that love has to be performative to be deemed legitimate love.
Elaine just spoke very highly of Shelly in the Diamond League press conference in Paris. She spoke of their mutual admiration for one another. How each one is basically pushing the other towards their goals. In short, it doesn't have to look the way "we" want it to look to be legitimate.
@@nithinmathew2472 Good thing she has multiple international gold, silver and bronze medals then.
Both runners are legends, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson Herah. As I like to repeat often just Jamaican Foreverunners.
They can’t touch Flo Jo, USA baby
@@barnetthejosh Ummm... Elaine is very close to it. So you're making no sense at all.
@@TheFlash3237 very close isn’t touching, she’s also 4 decades too late. Pathetic
@@barnetthejosh Someone is gonna break it sooner or later. Plus, the fact that it hasn't been broken yet is irrelevant. Not pathetic at all. Flo Jo was one in a generation athlete no doubt, but her 100m record is in trouble for the very first time. A record which was considered unbreakable can actually be broken next year.
Anyone who knows shelly from the beginning, should realize she is a fighter to the end.. Big up to all three.🤗
No matter who wins after this... Please stay healthy to break WR... Go Jamaicans girls, the world is counting on you...
talu 2 hugs were genuine and soo passionate big up #iverycoast
It always is between those 2, I have watched many of their races together and Ta Lou is always excited for Shelly Ann. Watch the 2019 world championship in Doha. I love that!
It will be a sad day when Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce retires.
You can say that again. I wonder who next will dominate like her??? Trust me her belief in herself is on another level. This woman is unstoppable and a true fighter. She never back down!!!!!!!!!!!
You bet! She’s my favourite of all time! 😢😢😢
Definitely will be missed.
Just announced she’s retiring after the Olympics 😢
Mi start bawl already😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
These two going back and forth. I've never watched athletics outside of the Olympics until now
That's great! It was the London 2012 Olympics (which Fraser-Pryce won) that got me to start following athletics year round. And yes it's sooo exciting to see these 2 go at it! Just a little heads up, they go again on Saturday in the Paris Diamond League.
im in same boat as you
Me to
Their races more interesting than the mens
These women are raising the bar... Gone are the days where a 10.8 was a sure medal
Still 10.92 is the bronze
@@krishnajithh9219 that was the slowest third place in awhile. And I was really referring to major championships no medals were given out today
@@jamaicansciencetutor3902 In a while? Ta Lou won bronze in 2019 World Championships running a 10.90.
@@chamindujanith6337 I'm talking about future championships... That's why I said gone
Shelly said "Nope! Not today!"
Ta Lou was more thrilled than SAFP herself! ❤️
No, Shelly toned it down, she was absolutely ecstatic, she knew she had just run like the Shelly Ann we all know and love(we love them all, including Sha'carri). She put everyone on notice that she's still a force majeur, a most 'delicious', effervescent and positive soul. I believe this puts to rest(even her own) talks about her "age" and her upcoming retirement. Her only limits are those which she focuses on. In my mind here comes Paris 2024. Merlene did it, and I prayed that these sisters have put aside their competitiveness to genuinely congratulate each other regardless of who wins. Not for the sport, nor for TV, just for their own peace of minds. Keep spreading love sisters!
With this run, Shelly Ann has become tied with Merlene Ottey as the woman to have ran the most sub 11 races in her life (65). She now has ran the most under 11, the most under 10.9 (41), and the most under 10.8 (21). Elaine Thompson is currently at 4th, 3rd, and 3rd respectively in those same categories.
On another note, not including the 2nd and 3rd most sub 10.8 sprinters, Shelly Ann has ran sub 10.8 as much as everyone else in history combined.
Thank you for these stats. Very eye opening when it comes to the question of who is the true GOAT
This stats are crazy!
Nice statistic. Tnx
@@jordanjordannis2258 I’ve put together a pretty comprehensive spreadsheet with a database of all sub 11 performances, world record progression, and global medal history. I’ve spent a fair bit of time working out the formulas, but it calculates based on global medals, personal bests, average top 5 and average top 10 performances, sub 11, sub 10.8, and world records to give every athlete a score out of 100 and rank them in order of greatest of all time. Anyways, long story short, Shelly Ann is definitely the greatest of all time, with a score of 87, with Elaine second with a score of 77. Third is Marion Jones (though personally I would disqualify her) at 68. Shelly and Elaine are both really in a league of their own.
@@desroywhite Also very fascinating, is that 2021 is already the year with the most sub 11 races in history (79, 2nd most is 2015 with 57), the most sub 10.9 (37, 2nd is 1998 with 23), the most sub 10.8 (21, 2nd is 1998 with 10), the most sub 10.7 (5, 2nd is 1988 with 2 (I don’t count the windy 10.49)). It is also the year with the fastest average top ten results (average top 10 time of 10.66, 2nd is 1998 with 10.73), and has the fastest world lead (10.54, which I consider to be the world record. 2nd is 1988 with 10.61). On essentially every single metric imaginable, 2021 has been far and away the most competitive year in history for women’s 100m sprinting. It’s not even close. The future is looking bright.
It's the way talou is genuinely happy for Shelly Ann for me Love it. congrats shelly u are truly an inspiration. Keep on inspire us queen
People underestimated her due to Elaine’s last exquisite results. But, think about it 10.54 and 10.60 are really close and I think they are going to have great duels, pushing each other to break the WR!!!
0.6 is
Congrats to SAFP the 🐐!!
Just incredible sprinting from both of these women - imagine running 10.64 and coming 2nd?
Seriously insane.
The Greatest Of All Time. The QUEEN!
I like how she held her composure. Usually she tries too hard on the last 30m and throws her whole technique off. What an athlete
Imagine Bolt with SAFP's commitment
How I wish shelly-ann's body can keep her till the next Olympics. Her retirement will hit me hard. I love her commitment and professionalism.
Fraser- Price still running PB's... Can't stop now
This is the first time someone has run sub 10.7 and not won the race. That is INSANE!!
My exact thoughts!!!!!!!!!!

I admireTa Lou
TA LOU IS ADORABLE !!! SHE HAS A HUGE FAN BASE EVEN AMONGST JAMAICANS, BECAUSE SHE IS SO ADORABLE
She's a tough Cookie!
I'm Jamaican and I love her.
Me too
ok
🇯🇲I think our new area code should be 123 and no longer 876🇯🇲
Lol
congrats Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce!!😍😍😍🤩, a well deserved victory!!!!
smh
Settle for 10.64🤯 never thought I would hear those words these ladys just rewriting history
I knew my favourite will win Congrats Shelly and Other Jamaicans
I am looking forward to seeing Sherika working on that start… Her top end speed is superior, she closes so fast…
She is brilliant.... so strong
I agree her reaction was a lil slower and you can see she passed Ta lou at the end. I feel like shes similar to Elaine in that sense. Elaine also tends to get "faster" in the last 40m which how she managed to get so close to ShellyAnn here. Im so excited for these three. Ta Lou is going to get her medal. Shes always so close!
@@glampie9 Ta lou won medals lol. 😆😆😆 She won the silver in 2017 World Championships 100m race and again silver in 2017 World Championship 200m race. And another bronze medal in 2019 World Championship 100m race beating Thompson.
@@chamindujanith6337 why are you laughing?.... We all know she can't beat a healthy Thompson lol 10.54 is no game
I absolutely love shericka. I pray her mind stays in a focused place so she'll dominate as well.
Shelly-Ann for 2022 WC no doubt !!
and you were right
@@Nathaniel676 happy for her
I love to watch Shelly .....her running style is awesome....luv from India Shelly ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
the most humble lady ever, so happy she won!
Shelly has a really fast takeoff. Elaine is faster, but it takes a few secs for her speed to build up, where as Shelly can blast off at full speed from the start.
Elaine's start was not too good in this and realizing Shelly was gone, she came out of her drive phase too soon. At this point, these two are really just racing each other and the clock.
Well said Jeff T.🙏👏
@@tashdavidson4046 They are racing each other and Flojo record lolz. They both been through a lot and kept pushing after many were doubting.
No wonder she is called the pocket rocket
Shelly is faster but her age n what she have been through doesn’t give her the endurance if she run 60 m nobody can beat her
Sill giving that lovely smile.
Most gorgeous smile. She’s such a treat to watch ♥️🙏🏻
Jamaican women going worldwide with that 100m broom.

Absolutely astonishing time & richly deserved!
Very compelling rivalry between the two Jamaicans which evidently is bringing out the best in both of them...

My girl shelly. Right deh suh
Here in Africa we are Jamaicans at heart...Congratulations ladies..Queen Shelly,Elaine & Sherika🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 #Dominance
We love Africa too!
the british grabbed some from africa to jamaica as slaves
Shelly likes Lausanne.
Shelly like an old wine
She is 34 but still breaks her personal bests unbelievable 🥰🥰🥰
I was sooo expecting this because unlike the other competitors Shelley's starts are PERFECT..!! You go giirrlllls 1&2nd
Crazzzy start by Shelly Ann...was like she took candy from Elaine and ran away with it 😅 but damnnnn Elaine have some scarey speed the way she closed that gap so fast. These girls may push themselves to break that record
man these races are gold! 10.64 and you are second. 😱
Amazing...from tokyo to lausenne, jamaican swept 123 podium..
These two ladies ETH and SAFP are raising bars in every event. Kudos to both of them. At this moment a big thanks Jeter also who ran 10.67 and 10.64 in 2009 as a forerunner in this millennium.
Jeter is not competing now
@@noelbartley1084 Yes i know that is why i wrote a forerunner in this millennium. She was the first women of this millennium who ran sub 10.70.

I love my Jamaicans… but I do feel for Ta Lou!
She's one tough Cookie 🍪! 32 years old already though.
I also like ta Lou 4th is her name with the jamaican 3
I still think she missed her best chance in 2017 when she didn't dip at the line and lost the world championship to Tori Bowie

A race by all time greatest Shelly Ann Fraser, Thompson Herrah, Ta Lou Shericka Jackson, Del ponte. Just wow!!
Elaine almost caught up to Shelly! That's crazy when you think about how fast Shelly was going.
shelly cant ran leave elaine elaine had a slow start the world saw this only reason shelly won
Shelly is excellent at the start of races. She tends to lose speed in the final few metres
@1st dolla of all the years shelly been running why just running 10 60 now look how long she be running and cant even run 10 54 elaine come set all these bars for her to cross smh
@@TaiAkinz shelly good at running but cant out run Elaine shelly does not fast as elaine no matter how hard she push even in this race u could see her face how much it taking out her to get cross the line look at both girls face Elaine was so relax while shelly face was under struggle so u kno who is way faster also
@1st dolla he is stupid
Leave him
What's crazy is the fact that both Elaine and Shellyann are not just winning but they're also destroying the field also.. WOW..
So close Ta Lou! I hope she gets a podium finish soon
The 100m G.O.A.T, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce!!😋😍😍😍🤩

Lol 😂 for real
Lost two Olympic finals to Elaine so no way she can be considered the Goat

@@dimitrisfarmakis7572 Lol and she won 2 and 4 world championship tf 😂 she is thee 🐐
i have been watching Shelly ann sprinting video for so long and the hope is she will break that 10.70 barrier outside Jamaica. Kinda frustrated at Tokyo Olympic not because of becoming runner up but for stuck at 10.70 barrier. Elaine did it twice outside Jamaica. Finally Shelly Ann made it to clock an astounding time 10.60 internationally. Now if she decided to retire, she can walk out that tracks with pride 💪🏼
Ma Gurl-dem Shelly Guna get dat 10.48 and become the world record holderrrrr. Jamaicaaaaa 4 the win
Good god! The standard is 10.70 and lower now. If you can't break 10.80, might as well try a different event, sport or career.
EXACTLY !!! THEY MAKE 10.84 LOOKS SO PEDESTRIAN !!! ATLANTA OLYMPICS WON IN THAT TIME

Also running 10.64s and you dont even win the race, that would've been fantasy just a few months ago. Can't wait for the world championship next year
elaine is at 10 54 now shelly behind time
Shelly is a rocket on start, thompson hellah can accelate like a missile. Best atheletes. I love you both

Shelly the most beautiful woman sprinter
The distance from that first stride off the blocks by Shelly Anne... Yasis!!! Hard Launch!!
Ta Lou is so happy for her. Would be nice if ET and SAFP showed the same love for each other lol. One of those two has to break the WR or I'll probably not see it go till I'm old hehe.

Shelly not finish yet. Big up coach reynaldo walcott
10.60 at 34 Wow
Both in a race for the WR!
Future is bright for Jamaican sprinting (women side). There are so many upcoming youngsters too.
Brianna Williams, Tina Clayton (i have some high hopes on her), Ackera Nugent and many more.
Yes!!! My Favourite Athlete Ever... Execute!!!!
finally she beat herah💛💙💚💖😍🇯🇲🇯🇲
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce splits 4.3 for the 40y. She is blazing. Half way through the 3rd (32m) and 4th (41.14m) hurdle (of the 110m) = 36.57m = 40.00 yards. The stop watch is at 4.3 from ≈ 36 - 37. So she defiantly crossed the 40 mark in 4.3...
This is so FUNNY 😁 running 10:64 and still coming second I can't even run 11: seconds
I don’t care what anyone says that “kiss” from Elaine was salty af
Queen Shelly is a real champion. Shelly and ETH are the best ever along with Ottey.
Older athletes beat younger ones with their discipline, work ethic and Humility
Congratulations to these 3 power puff girls, or should I say the new power run girls. These 3 ladies are just phenomenal super athletes, doing great things for themselves and their country. What a piece of history they’re creating. It’s a great time to be alive and to be inspired. Shelly omg, I love her dearly, she’s such an inspiration to many near and far. I can’t wait to see the new generation coming up talking about her.
The Caribbean need to rally around these majestic ladies of Jamaica. Ladies, stay together, encourage each other and you will break Flo Jo's record. Do not let any of the media outlets pit you against each other because a house divided against itself cannot stand. All the comparisons and comments is to distract you. Do not be distracted by all the gossip and bacchanal. Focus on the goal and be each other's source of strength and break that World Record. Who knows, you three may probably break it together in the same race, anything is possible with God. One Love, stay close, mentor and motivate each other.
I wished all the ladies will keep up the good work and stay positive and strong. ❤
Love you shellyyyy
Whoever edited this need to include a little bit of the build up before the race like them getting into the blocks or something. Its to faster a transition right into the race.
