FloJo's last competitive sprint race was a 100m race in Tokyo Japan, in October 1988, 1 week after the Seoul Olympics. In February 1989, she announced her "retirement" from the sprint events, to focus on the 5K, the 10K, and the marathon. Seriously, who ever heard of any sprinter moving up to the middle distances and the marathon. Also, FloJo for all her glamor was never hired to do color commentary for any media network. Because they all knew she got busted in Seoul, and probably in exchange for keeping her records, she "retired" from the sport. Her times need to be expunged, just like Marion Jones' times, and for the same reasons."
Track surfaces change shoes change and yes people use drug enhancements...yes she got caught. And No one has broken that record yet. But they will. And they have not yet. No need to comment.

Yet this interview gets buried by the media. This is what is wrong with the US society today. I know that ShaCarri was dealing with lots of things during this race, the death of her mother, losing the opportunity to go to Tokyo and other things that we probably don't know. However, i just can't stop laughing while watching this race. She came in last place after been so disrespectful towards the jamaicans, and they respond to her not with words, with action. She can learn something really useful from this, be more humble.

When Florence Griffith-Joyner set the world record, one false start was allowed. Now a day, runners are much more careful. That can be a difference of 0.01 or 0.02 seconds. So she could have run 10.52 30 years ago on the same pace

Everybody does not know anything about Flo-Jo’s record most especially Fast Eliane, who very publicly has adopted her technique
Wtf are you talking about? Flo Jo's techniques? Which one? You mean the 'calm while running'? Every sprinters use this philosophy. Literal running techniques very very different. Elaine's have a more prolonged drive phase while flo Jo's are the usual. Elaine's are a fast fast women even on her drive phase not to mention that she is the only women in history who can reach max speed of 40kph or 24.8mph which is faster than flo Jo's. Elaine is one of a kind. She is a gifted individual unlike Flo Jo who by the years developed manly voice who knows why.
The 10.49 women's world record are 100% false & you can't rewrite that history for some reason possibly to respect her achievements & especially she's dead now. The race was +5-7m/s which is way above the legal wind assistance of below 2m/s. Her best race was 10.62, pretty much all the time. But the conclusion is, let's be honest here, her speed is the same as shelly Ann but not faster than Elaine.

You must keep in mind that the Diamond league commentator is selling a product. We should be careful to not be persuaded by unfounded comments. Consider who else in our world uses the phrase, "and everybody knows" to persuade their followers. The athletes themselves say they are learning Flo Jo's technique and therefore have hopes to beat her record.

The wind was blowing side ways and not blowing to assist her forward motion. It was also found to be within the legal limit. Flo Jo had a congenital brain abnormality which caused her epileptic seizure at times. She valued her health, hard work, her good character. She never was tempted nor in fact used performance enhancing drugs. But my opinion. And the opinion of her husband, the Olympian Al Joyner and unknown others.
