    This is the greatest race in history... and there were so many things leading up to it. It featured 5 of the fastest men ever in Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Justin Gatlin, Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay. Olympic Story time with Justin this week is EPIC

      Yea but in 2021 the wind was +0.1m/s and Jacobs ran a 9.80. And in 2023 the wind was 0.0m/s and Lyles ran a 9.83. The wind in London was +1.5m/s which makes a huge difference. Yea that race was probably one of the greatest 100m final but when adjusted for wind, both Jacobs and Lyles both ran time around what Blake did in London to win sliver. A double doper allowed back on the tracks after a permanent suspension actually had the nerve to claim someone else got special attention.

      I don’t think you guys know how big the 100 meter in London was, because of what bolt did in Beijing and his rise to literally a god that made sprinters scared of him. Everyone was tuned in to see if bolt can perhaps break the record or even win 4 years later. The fact that he was number 1 in the world of sprinting but got beat by yohan and disqualified also add to the doubts and anticipation.
      The London Olympics stadium energy was loud as hell, sprinting is extremely difficult to stay consistently good at most less win, because if your nervous you won’t execute your race in good form and spirit. Powell does well in diamond leagues when no other top sprinters in the race, he seems to falter in big races, if you look at some of his race he suddenly slows down for no reason and gets beaten. He claims he had no psychological issue but something was wrong with his mental
      Then the semi finals had guys causally dropping 9.8s and slowing down before the line. Gatlin said lebron, Kobe and all the other basket team ran into the stadium to see the race. Which just shows how anticipated it was. Bolt became even more ridiculously popular after that feat.

    Justin you are easily one of my fav track athletes of all time. I love watching your channel and stories. You and Bolt were in a world of your own when you had those race against each other and it was amazing to watch. I get goosebumps every time I see you come out of the outside and winning that last race of his. The respect you showed after is the best part. True sportsman. Keep it up bro thank you for your contributions 🇺🇸. Love from Montana.

    That 100m final was absolutely awesome indeed.
    I wouldn't exactly say that Blake took off. He was slightly faster than you in the latter part of the race, but not that much faster. Usain absolutely took off.
    The 5 fastest man ever in that race and 3 of them pretty close to their peak form (you, Usain and Yohan Blake). Gay wasn't as fast as in 2009, otherwise I think he would have got 2nd place. Asafa too wasn't as fast as in 2008 (his peak) but he was still decent, though he chocked in any major event, so nothing new there.

    • @TaughtByTech
      @TaughtByTech 3 місяці тому +5

      Asafa got 3rd when bolt ran 9.58 at world champs. That was not a choke. He certainly could not have won that race

      @@TaughtByTech I never said Asafa could have won the 100m in 2009. I said he chocked in pretty much any major event, which is a fact. 2007 Osaka, 2008 Beijing, 2012 London, you name it.

    I guess the rivalry between USA and Jamaica can seem so intense but i for one as a Jamaican appreciate and love athletes from both countries Justin is a freaking inspiration i can't recall anyone coming off a 4 year ban and freaking dominating the sport afterwards.. tyson gay is another one dude needed to run 9.69 which seemed impossible and did it that's just nuts. The two countries keep pushing each other to be at their absolute best and i don't see any other country really dominatibg the sport for the foreseeable future. Big up Mr Gatlin. Respect and love from Jamaica. Such a humble dude too.
