I'm both intrigued and concerned. The more you build and talk though, my confidence increases. I was trained to design and work on turbine systems. Turbines are amazing and I think demystifying them is a great step to bring them into more common use.

BRAVO, What a video. I'm a chef and fine woodworker but as a boy, I have always wanted to be able to build a wooden airplane from balsa wood flown on strings with gas engines. my neighbor across the street did just that and let me in his bedroom to see his workbench where he built his airplanes. he would fly them in his front yard with me watching in amazement. But this never became a realized hobby for me. And yet all my life I have loved to go and see men fly their RC planes here in town. Now the jets have taken over and that is just so amazing to see all the big RC remakes of all the popular aircraft that is flying now and through history. But the engines. I never could understand its function and how it works. this video has Greatly made things so much clearer as to how it all works. BRAVO to you and your skill, craftsmanship, and imagination. Thank You for making it so much more enjoyable to watch and understand what goes behind the engines and their makers.

Excellent content, and the speed at which you speak, the lack of unneeded words, no stuttering or pausing, or stupid music, and fast-forwarded segments all combined to create this great video that is SO different from most videos on youtube. Oh, and great re-use of a turbocharger shaft and wheels.

You did a great job, have you seen the aluminium turbines vacuums use? They are half as strong as this and spin at 50-60,000 rpm's , the one I just pulled from my vacuum is smaller and the blades have just a pressed down tab sticking out the top and bottom plate. He's using stainless steel rivets not a simple pressing, no comparison in engineered strength!!! He literally over engineered it compared to what we see commonly used, since its relatively small in size the inertial force won't be very strong so there is no way this thing will come apart built like that!

Very impressive. Why don't you just admit von Ohain is your grandfather? Some critical remarks though:
    - Centering the hole positions before drilling would lead to a more precise hole pattern and thus a more stable flow.
    - Will all the parts stand up to the temperatures involved?
    - I love you handtooled the turbine but how do you avoid imbalance if you do not do it with a lathe?
    - That spring mechanism in the nose cones will only work if the springs are tailored specifically to the occuring pressure differential(s). Taking just some spring that happens to be avaialble will probably not suffice.

I suppose in order to demonstrate this principle you'll have to test fire it in supersonic flow. I would still call a turbojet engine operating static on the ground an engine, since the principles that constitute a turbojet engine are functional. The compressor, combustor and turbine are all functioning as they would at cruise speed, although the efficiency may be low. But a ramjet sitting on the ground cannot compress air with the inlet shock, and thus I would hesitate to call it a functional ramjet engine, but more along the lines of a display model.
    But still, very impressive work.

You might have been able to get a more even grind on the fins of that impeller if you had chucked it up in the end of a drill and spun it the opposite way the grind stone was spinning so that the verry edge was perfectly even and consistent. It might have also been quicker to grind as well.

I know those cheap electric motors, they run at 20k rpm with no load! A fan will give maximum load at maximum rpm, so that needs to be compensated. I run them from my lab power supply with the current limiter on 6 amps, that is the maximum according to the specs of my motor. And then I ramp up the voltage to whatever is needed to reach 20k rpm. To get in that corner of high torque and high rpm without overheating.

Awesome build. Being you know how to build your own Turbine! I wish you could make a shaft with a 360 degree linkage which has a crown gear at the end that would allow you to have another fan that could move into three different angles! Like an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter which you could be the 1st to have a turbine that has VTOL Vertical takeoffs and Landing! That would be my #1 project if I had the knowledge and actual tools with extra parts of aluminum which would transform new turbine’s with would be the greatest jet engine for all r,c Jets if this isn’t a pulse turbine! Either way I would make it work Especially with an afterburner. That would be pimp to all r,c Jet Enthusiast. 😎🇺🇸🛩🚀🚁🥇🏁P,S I love how the intake nozzle points down like the SR-71’S! Did you know that it was supposed to be an R,S 71 except that the president accidentally called it the SR-71 for Sub sonic reconnaissance 71 or Speed reconnaissance!
