The fact that i'm only playing on standard dif and still struggling speaks how much i suck at this game. I mean, look at this insanity... i always freaked out when i heard feral's grow
Believe me you don’t suck at the game, after about 4 years of on and off playing I can still only handle dread zone. I’d consider myself a casual player, with a period once or twice a year of hardcore daily playing lol. I’d say I understand the game mechanics fairly well, I know which traits I want, the skill specializations that treat me well, I feel comfortable taking on the occasional feral face to face, a little less so juggernauts but do so regularly… with that being said I still lose people on dread zone, it’s very rare and takes a lot of poor decision making for it to happen but I do still lose people. After all the time I’ve spent with this game, and with it being that time of the year again for my state of decay 2 obsession to kick in, I decided it was time to start a new community on this lethal zone I hear everyone talking about. I quickly realized that this sense of panic I feel very rarely in dread zone, after a lot of bad decisions and the realization a characters life Is seriously at risk, kind of just loomed over me constantly in lethal zone. In dread zone it would take a very bad decision, like leaving the base severely injured to do a mission on the opposite end of the map in a smoking car with no doors to end up in a situation which scared me (a slight exaggeration but you get the point). In lethal zone it took significantly less bad decision making to the point even with decent gear, fully restored car and a strong survivor something as small as quick looting and making a loud noise caused me to have a death. I was shocked at this moment that after so much time spent on this game it was still able to crush my confidence in less than 2 hours. After this first death things didn’t improve, awakened some plague hearts… ended up losing another character to blood plague and at this point just gave up. I will never delete this community with the one lone survivor on lethal zone as it’ll serve as a reminder of why I play on dread zone even after 4 years.
Don’t listen to him. You do suck at the game. But that’s okay. Struggling on dread means you aren’t getting the full experience of survival. You get better by trying out nightmare/lethal with a maxed out player/player and learning from the losses.

That was so crazy man i barely can handle 1 blood feral and i still freak out im on dread and nearly died any tips on how to get used to dread difficulty?
Well stealth is key when in dread zone alerting anything is dangerous so the most I can say is pack plenty of plague cures and health items and stamina items also make sure your community has good weapons to defend itself make sure you have plenty of ammo when you loot the biggest tip I can give is take it slow in any zone your in because rushing around can really mess things up don't be in a rush to move from the starter base build up your resources
@@ydktpofthedarkside501 do you know what skills i should use for the long run if i were to go into higher difficulties? And for stealth is it optional even when surrounded by zeds?and what weapons would do great for higher difficulties always heard ww2 weapons is better for juggernauts or plague hearts by the way hoping to see more of your videos and hopefully some tips on how to play better on sod2
Well the longest surviving character I have has swordplay witch makes it easier to kill with bladed weapons marathon witch makes my stamina go down slower when running plus he gets fatigue slower that way discipline witch makes it easier to loot and be stealthy and weapon handling witch if you break your gun that character cab unjam it and for the weapons the ww2 guns are good but not as powerful as people think I run Mastercraft assault rifles you can make in heartland and auto 50 cal snipers found on wandering traders kills anything quick but you have to have a friend with you in order to bring the Mastercrafts back to the regular modes by having them pick them up and give them to you when you load into your game and as for is stealth optional when surrounded I honestly have always tried to be stealthy bit the zombies always hear me anyway so I just usually try just to not kill zombies near plague zones and hearts so I don't wake up the hearts
Or you can do what i do(Alternate suggestion and playstyle, not replacement or insult) Go ham. Try to level up your survivor and get swordplay or striking, and grab a few snacks. You'd be surprised how much you can do with that. Just be careful of plague hearts, either have powerhouse survivors or a celltower and use the defense it had to make them hear less. Also quick tip, ferals heads always go into their idle animation when you shoot them, so you can calmly kill them quickly and efficiently. This will awaken plague hearts but powerhouse +strategy and a heavy weapon allows you to kill plague hearts at the cost of your snacks, painkillers and plague cures rather than hundreds upon thousands of grenades. This is only reccomended if you can't take this shit no mo and have decent playtime or are a souls like addict.
