  • Tyseley's 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' was out in place of 'Clun Castle' on 23rd September working 'The Melton Pieman' from Birmingham New Street to Melton Mowbray via Coleshill, Nuneaton and Leicester. After servicing, the Earl would run a mini tour to Corby and back, via Manton Jn and crossing the impressive Harringworth Viaduct.
Seen crossing the Rutland Northamptonshire border beneath Harringworth Viaduct, 5043 emerges from Seaton tunnel and gently coasts onto the viaduct. Some exuberant whistling follows and the regulator is swung open as the Earl begins the 5½ mile 1-in-200 climb into Corby. Roaring like thunder over the viaduct with more whistles, the train disappears on towards Corby.
Fantastic seeing 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' again, running in her typical Great Western style; loudly!
