56:12 They discuss Nagash's Wizard(9) and not being able to really cast 9 spells. But, on Nagash's warscroll is the "Invocation of Nagash" spell which reads "This unit can cast this spell more than once per phase". Nagash could just cast his signature spell 9 times if he wanted to.
GW: 4.0 will be less killy
Also GW: It's totally possible to make these Morghasts hit and wound on 2s with exploding 5s, rend 3 and dmg 3 and also get buffs to their ward saves and charge rolls, and also you can bring the entire unit back
The lack of viability of this army in most games and the amount of points you ahve to sink into that combo, littearly the entire army, means that if you can figure out this synergy and are fine with the entire point of your army going into it, of course it is going to be killy and a bit nuts. For a casual game it seems overpowered but it really isn't. I don't even play ossiarh so I would relax on the "I'm mad about the new edition" complaint.
For... 540 points. And y'know, the rest of the army buffing them. For... A total of 12 attacks.
This is less good than Skarbrand.
@@verazunrus4834 sorry, but this is just a stupid OP combo. Good Job GW.
4 morchast achai : 540 points
The 4 mortissan: 120+160+140+140= 560 points
Nagash: 880 points
540+560= 1100 points
And if you want nagash for even more spell casting and buff and resurect it's 1980 points
The combo require half or the entirety of the army to work and could also have been destroyed in the first few combats with the unit of morchast dying
And that was agaisnt nurgle who isn't very killy
@@madflam3192 you get a free unit of Morghasts to bring back at full strength, so the net cost is more like 900 points. Nurgle gets to bring back half size of shitty units. its broken
Like Luka i'm all about Mortal Maggotkin. i'm actually happy i don't need to bring extra nurglings, demon characters, and like 20-30 plaguebearers just for possible summoning. Without them though it really brings home that maggotkin could use more unit variety. Looking forward to some 4.0 AOS. hopefully with armies that are slightly more models than a god model, characters, and basically 2 units.
Gotta be the least ossiarch bone reaper army ive ever seen lol
The thrice ripened deaths heads are the three perserved heads on the wooden apparatus he's got on his back. The plauge drones also carry deaths heads but they are not thrice ripened. The champion plauge drone usually has it on the end of his sword
I gotta see some kharadron overlords 4th edition gameplay
Just watch a t'au battle report /s
1:39:11 OBR player just straight moves a piece of terrain so he can fit Nagash in. That's not how that works -- if you can't fit then you can't fit. You can't just move terrain to accommodate your giant base -- that's one of the downsides of having a giant base.
I think it probably wasn't really terrain and just decoration that has no effect on the game which is something they do a lot of
I agree. the terrain is there and while some say its decorative, its not really. your opponent may think that gap is not big enough for a big base to fit through, so they position accordingly. Maybe they discussed terrain before hand, but I play, if its on the table its terrain and there for a reason.
@@WhyNot-sb9kk okay but you are not the one playing and considering neither of them said anything and that the camera focused on it i think it was just one of the many little pieces they put to decorate the terrain and it was fine to move them like the trees
T1 nagash couldn't have counter charged anyway. Redepo is run. Can't charge turn you ran :)
I really like that style of battle recording. Feels much better than just 2 static angles like whole board from top + whole board from afar. Thanks!
That's the MiniWarGaming style! Handheld battle reports make it so much more personal and feels like your POV is one of the players. I prefer it 100% to static/overhead cameras, although it's a lot more work!
You guys rock! Shawn/Sean? is an awesome dude, I love his list it's so hilarious. I'd love to keep seeing him play in these batreps.
Small note about coherency. New rules change how it works slightly. 18.3 Slain Models, basically you have to keep removing models until your coherent. Which changes from previous where you could maintain a state of non-coherency until the end of the turn. I didn't see that until someone pointed it out. Definitely makes you more mindful of how you position your unit!
Great batrep guys. I'm super excited to start playing AOS 4th edition. Nurgle feels like Nurgle. it'd be interesting to see how khorne play?
Don't forget your morghast archai gain an arcane charge token whenever they make a ward roll, or when they kill manifestations.
Then, you can spend the charge token in any hero phase to give +1 casting to a friendly wizard within 12".
It can help mitigate the -1 from magical intervention.
The ward roll one is only for wizard priest and manifestation attacks which they haven't been targeted by the whole game
I wonder in the last turn when the bird did the 7" charge would have tagged the unit of flys in combat preventing them from counter-charging the wizards in the middle.
Just a note, Nagash can cast his warscroll spell any number of times, other than that its fun to see that Nagash aint useless as he has been the last edition.
Thanks for the BR. Pro tip (from an amateur), when a disease unit rallies it only removes the disease and not heals as well. And I thought we had to pick one spell lore that can be accessed by all the wizards? You guys were playing like all wizards had access to all spells? I could be wrong on that though
All wizards know all spells from the chosen lore. Also, (I could be wrong) but the specific wording for Rally allows you to spend the points individually, meaning it gives you multiple instances of heal, so it can remove disease and still heal afterwards.
@@andrewcallahan1642 Disease stops the ability altogether from healing, so no
@@andrewcallahan1642 This is not true anymore in 4.0; instead of healing, you remove the DISEASED keyword. You can't pick and choose how to interact with disease like you could in 3.0, it's just remove that keyword.
EDIT: I'm wrong because, as you pointed out, each rally point you get is individual, so you could spend 1 rally point to remove disease and then use the rest to heal.
Dont think you are wrong disease says when a abbility is used and rally is an ability and what u roll for is the effect of the abbility wich comes later
you are correct that rally would only remove the disease. It says any ability that would revive or heal a unit instead just removes the keyword disease, which means that rally being an ability would only remove the keyword no matter how much healing you roll
By the way, the interaction with faction terrain(and manifestion) in the charge and combat phase have been errataed already, now you're only locked in combat with either of those in the combat phase. @ 15:38 you would essentially be locked in combat with the faction terrain with your Blightkings during the charge phase, without being able to charge anything else. With the errata, you now can (see below):
"TERRAIN, 1.5 FACTION TERRAIN In the first bullet point, change ‘In the charge phase and the combat phase’ to ‘In the combat phase’"
MAGIC, 7.0 MANIFESTATIONS Change the sixth bullet point to:
‘Manifestations that have a Move characteristic of 0" (‘-’) cannot move For the purposes of movement, combat range, being in combat and setting up other units, they are only treated as if they were units in the combat phase Units can finish a charge move within ½" of an enemy manifestation that has a Move characteristic of 0" (‘-’) instead of within ½" of an enemy unit’
You can also have a max of 3 Gnarmawl. If you have Horticulous in the army. And he can summon one each turn, but only 3 max on the battlefield at any given time.
Just for future reference, you can have 3 trees and Horticulus can spawn one in your turn.
if you rally while Diseased you cant heal, you only remove the Disease keyword, since it states that INSTEAD of healing/returning models by an ability, you remove the keyword.
Nagash can also cast invocation any number of times but can’t pick the same target twice
I didn’t think a level 1 wizard could cast a spell and unbind in the same phase
They can
They can't Banish and Cast in the same turn if they are a level 1 wizard.
SIGMAR LET'S GO!
You played the rally wrong on the soulmason. He was deseased and by healing he would just remove the desease and not heal at all that turn
had to go back and reread the ability on the Community article and it does say instead of the ability you remove disease.
@@shadeling6717 that is what I'm saying
Neat, I have that Nagash 3d model. Always nice to see some printer representation.
What is that Nagash sculpt? Love it! I want one!
It's a file from fleshcraft studios
Guys, I think I lost where Luka got the 10 points on turn 4 (weren't the objectives evenly split?). And also I believe you can't redeploy and countercharge in the same turn since redeploy is a run roll (unless rot flies have run and charge). Otherwise great Batrep.
Have you noticed that they changed the Rotmire Creed's base size yet? From 25mm to 28.5mm
Almost certainly a mistake, they've done it before
Are those trees magnetized? Sounded like they were.
They were not
I hope we get a new server, as the old ones are getting money inflated more and more :) But love the HC angle, its the only version i want to play anymore (until tbc gets back around)
Where can i get this kitty dices ? ;d
how important does "faction terrain" seem to be? i really dont feel like needing to haul around the realmshifter for seraphon every single game but it seems silly to just give up free things.
Most terrain seems to be a nice bonus if you have it but not essential. There are some exceptions like skaven though.
Where is that Nagash from?
I found him on myminifactory as Lotharius god of ruination
Just wish the camera wasn't all over the place
Good report. One request: brighten your models a bit. ;)
guys you have bots in the comments
Maggotkin got no anti-monster, no good magic, no damage, no abilities and their army rule is such a joke, basically doing nothing. How sad
Great Unclean ones can cast fairly well and are pretty decent at fighting other monsters.
You do disservice to Nurgle
