Bold of them to let it end on evil notes. Everyone wants a redemption story and happy ending but some villains are just villains. His mom knew that the whole time.
She killed it with this show & I hope they bring her in for more projects. Deliberate, subversive, yet consistent all the way till the end imo. That moment was both expected yet shocking to me in how it was executed but cemented it as a supervillain show & the completion of Oz's turn into Penguin as the kingpin. I'm looking forward to see his role in Part II.
She is a genius, and no other showrunners could've made this fantastic show to be as awesome as it is; this lady deserves all of the praises. DC and WB have to get Lauren LeFranc on board for the upcoming Batman projects along with Matt Reeves and the producer Dylan Clark.
Huge fan of Miss LeFranc recently, she's humble, talented and sharp with a pen. One of the best writers/showrunners we got these days, easily. She's so inspiring.
Lauren, thank you for writing such a great show. Future writing classes need to teach students... this is how you write a show and build up characters the viewers will get invested into.
Thanks for the ride. Paraphrasing "I had enough love for all my boys," that line hit differently. The line encapsulated the devil experience. I don’t see a universe where OZ doesn’t ascend to Mayor of Gotham. As Mayor will vengeance be out of reach? DC studios it's time for a promotion.
Take notes Hollywood! This is the writer you need to write grow and develop female leads . Everyone on this show deserves a award . Ill go even further and say best TV series of 2020. And that's coming from a fan who's meh on DC so it's not a fanboy thing . I just call good storytelling when I see it
@huntsman1999 I'd be curious to see what this talented lady writer can bring to star wars . Kathleen Kennedy should maybe give her a call and we can make star wars great again
Every so often a show comes along to restore your faith that good storytelling isn't dead. With that being said, why'd Vic have to fucking die Goddammit!!!! Yes, it made for an awesome finale and completed the Penguin character's transformation from 'violent but misunderstood antihero' to true evil in a dramatic way. But why did Vic have to fucking die Goddammit!!!!
I will not forgive them for killing Vic like this.. but i understand. His death is the birth of Penguins kingdom. I hope they utilize Colin in the movies, the fans really hate Oz now and will be cheering when Bats takes him down
The way they did it unnerve me despite us all predicting because of how & when he did it. But I love that they stuck to Oz & the show being a supervillain piece to the end. That's what I wished the first Venom movie was like.
@@emanuel81111 I didn't think he'd be an anti-hero but I thought since everything was wrapped up that Vic will be Oz's right-hand man & more ruthless from now on. It was a great narrative choice & I love that they stuck their guns with this being a supervillain show.
i think it happens soo fast, and spoutaniesly, yes psychologicly he has a reason but i dont think penguin could have done that withouth having him as a problem to achieve power, they should find a way to make him physicly a problem too, like Vic gets arrested or suddenly takes all attention from Oz and he needs to make a choice between him and the power, that could have worked but instead he just dies because Oz goes crazy, that didnt made much sense,it was rushed the background of it wasnt ready, it was supposed to be something like Griffish from Berserk betraying his comrades because he can get everything back what he lost, if they did that it would made much more sense and see him as a actual villian ( we see him as a villian but not acknowledge him as one due to logical errors ) griffish betrays because he doesnt likes how weak he has becomed and now he cannot command nor get respect from his army*, its just shame this could have been better
The thing I love the most is the fact that Sofia didn't die but was sent back to Arkham, that leaves her with a potential future in The Batman universe.
I hate the people behind her just standing around doing nothing but being a distraction because they keep fidgeting with the phole pole and awkwardly adjusting their standing posture. Like you clearly can see the interview going on, move literally anywhere else.
Terrible writing, really lazy storytelling. Oh wow a mob war, so interesting, never seen that before. Colin and Cristin deserved so much better than this DEI hire writer.
@@scubadiverrrr_music Its the worst episode. You circus seals can clap and squeal at the batsignal, but its the laziest tie-in imaginable. There was not a worst way to link to the Batman franchise than a cheap batsignal scene. An easter egg isn’t content.
I feel sorry for you and ur inability to grasp subtle artforms and meanings like the majority of the population, must suck to be unable to enjoy a show even of this calliber due to your impairments 🤪
@@EDINXY You go back to celebrating your mediocre slop with rest of the circus seals. The "majority of the population" took an experimental vaccine 3 times, it's not exactly a winning argument.

Emmy Awards She deserve. 10/10 writing
She delivered something special. DC needs to keep her in house.
Agreed 100%. S1 of The Penguin was absolutely incredible.
She just casually created the best comic book series and thought nobody will notice it
She’s incredibly talented. The writing was seamless. It was so effective at making us care about a character you’re supposed to eventually despise.

Frrr, I'm finding out she read about the comics n shii. Really dedicated to the craft 🤲

This show is such a triumph! I am in awe of this gal’s incredible talent. Let her do whatever she wants to do next and I’ll be excited to see it.
This woman is gold !! The Penguin was badass
Lauren should write and direct DCU Batman.

she snapped with this one holy
Vic isn’t dead he’s in the background.
LOOOOOL
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT JOB! You should think about doing a "scarcrow" series.
Arkham series preferably. Scarecrow could be a psychiatrist there while he could do therapy sessions with Riddler and Joker, Sofia too potentially
Going to be absolutely following what she does next.
Lauren, thank you for writing such a great show. Future writing classes need to teach students... this is how you write a show and build up characters the viewers will get invested into.
Give this woman everything she needs 🎉

Killing Victor was the perfect choice, I didn't anticipate that you would have the audacity, masterpiece
I hope they let her write more DC storys!

She is beautiful....❤❤❤❤
Best villain series

She needs to go teach Marvel on how to produce a great TV show!!
So happy that:
A they didn't make him a hero.
B they didn't make him a stupid in order for Sofia to win and doing a gender swap in the process
Put her in another show
great writing
We better make sure her name is known.
Good job Laurence
She single handedly destroyed the MCU.
she did a good job.

Make the penguin more muscular and crazy not some half ass psycho
Muscular and crazy? That's emperor penguin, dude. That's the right hand of penguin, who later became his rival.
