Im in a wheelchair and will never be able to afford a catamaran, especially not a bluewater live aboard, but i cant get enough of your videos. You guys are awesome and give great practical information. Love your channel, keep it up please. And Congratulations on the new crew member :)
My uncle lost his legs being a Lineman for the State. Afterwards, he bought a beef master ranch with 200 head of cattle. He ran it with ONE ranch hand. Nowadays he’s a role player at Fort Polk, the blow his legs off every week during the training scenarios for the Army. HE LOVES IT! Wheelchairs ain’t nothin but a different way to get around 😉
The personal negative comments are generally from jealous or ignorant people. Good luck with your future endeavors of parenthood. It's something that will definitely change your world, but its freaking awesome! I enjoy your tours.
Hey, congratulations on the forthcoming crewmember! I'm really excited for you. Take care and no falling overboard, Randi. Good luck! And please keep the boats coming. I'll never afford one, but it is great to see them.
Congratulations. You are fixing to experience a new dimension of love when you have your baby. Stay positive, stay safe, keep on exercising, eat healthy food, and get plenty of sleep. GOD bless ya’ll.
spoke to an american couple in Sweden many yers ago that had a Norseman 43. I had an FP Athena 38 at the time and when we spoke I had been out sailing in some horrendous weather and did not have any problems, they had to go for shelter as the low bridge deck caused so much pounding that they where afraid something would break. I had a look underneath the boat and saw the flat underside with very little clearance. Would not do anything but coastal cruising with that boat. And also they had problems with leakages in the massive saloon windows, the flexing of the boat combined with the size was the skippers idea of the problem. Also the size and angle made for massive "greenhouse effect" inside. Would not have that boat!
All those solid molded doors: Everything behind them will mold/mildew. NOT good. Plus lack of ventilation? Recipe for disaster if you live aboard. But, you can DIY fix those doors for ventilation easily and cleanly
Yes, bow lockers would be a very practical and fun to do mod, assuming it wouldn`t mess up any interior functions. Very thorough walk through and lots of balanced real life sailing pros and cons for this cool cat... Good job.
Cool boat for safety and ready to go. You two come across as dependable kind people. That is as parents should. In fact most important. Best wishes, babies with the right parents, a blessing. Be well.
Congrats, kids change every thing. They are a blessing and a hand full. Don’t lose sight of your dreams. Kids are stronger and more resilient than most adults. Even baby’s and toddlers 🤗. Keep up the tours. Would love to see some sailing. Find a hobie cat, friend something . Miss seeing y’all on the water
Dennis Collins exactly! And how about really looking at the rudder steering mechanisms, and or emergency tiller... I mean, if we’re really talking performance!
Thanks for the video, nice yacht, couple of suggestions. Us catamaran sailors like to know things like what is the clearance between the bridgedeck and the water, This gives us an idea of whether it is a sea going vessel, and how bumpy it would get while sailing. another would be does it use dagger boards or skegs? I did not see any evidence of dagger boards so more than likely skegs, so whats the shallow draft? If it indeed has skegs, then I'm not sure I would class it as a performance boat, typically for fast closer to the wind headings dagger boards are a better option. What is the typical cruising speed of the yacht, under sail and under engines, and whats the engine run time? I owned Lock Crowther 10 meter, and I had bulbs added to the front, did not add to the rear which I could and probably should have. The major benefit of adding to the front was much better stability up front, more buoyancy where you need it really made cruising more comfortable on such a small boat. The fastest I achieved was 23 knots on a San Francisco to Catalina race with a crew of 4 on board. What was the hull construction? It looked like a very heavy boat, too much fiberglass not enough foam, so had all the creature comforts - but I suspect slow. Great video, hope we run across each other at some point, I live just N or Orlando. Keep it up, and congrats on the additional crew!
Very Nice Boat.. with a wider beam and lower centre of gravity, it is going to handle a little better for longer voyages. Congrats on the new Crew Member guys!!! Fair Winds and Following seas
There is an important relation ship between the beam and the bridge deck clearance. The wave pattern on a wider hulls is different so where the waves come together makes a difference where they hit the bridge deck and this also related to the speed .....so way more to consider that just the clearance.
Remarkably well kept boat for something that is 20 years old but if your going to spend $330,000 on a fast catamaran you can get something like a Seawind which is half the age of this boat, with all the design Innovations that happened over those ten years. That said this is still a lot of boat for the money. I would have a surveyor take a really good look at the sugar scoop extension though, because you often get issues after a few years unless the extension was done to a very high standard.
I agree there are a lot of positives with that, especially for a more performance oriented cat. But there are some negatives as well. They are minor though. For example an aft facing nav station is not ideal and would much prefer fwd facing one, but overall is lot more positives. The details in build quality is so hard to judge not in person, but it appeared to be more good quality or upper end of mid quality.
I think that was an engine coolant heat exchanger hot water heater, not an isolation transformer. Good review and 329k is a lot for a boat but a new version of this would be a million plus.
(General remarks / opinion, not only for this catamaran review) The (interior) walk-through at the end is very helpful. It gives a pretty good overview of the layout. I'd like to see some figures like standing headroom in the cabins/heads/showers/saloon, length and width of the bunks, distance between the bunk and the ceiling above it, etc. Imo this are important details for liveaboards and hardly to find in other reviews. Would offer true added value compared to other sources. Information like "lot of storage" is for the viewer (at least for me) pretty hard to quantify/estimate. At least a comparison with some similar sized boats would help. Or some measurements ;)
I didn't see anything that looked like a shower in the port head. Randi said she saw one but I sure didn't. Besides that, this is a very nice looking boat - but as most/all very nice catamarans go, it's going for a high $ amount. Oddly enough if you remove the zeros from the price, that's fourteen dollars more than what I paid for my very nice 20' monohull back in 2016. Then, about the "bun in the oven", . . . Very Nice! Now, the timing seems very good as well since you now have the example of LaVaga/Lenny and SV Delos/Sierra to help. BUT, you have to have a boat before you can have a boat baby. : - )
If you are going to review catamarsns you need to address bridgedeck clearance. This boat with extra wide beam and relatively low bridgedek clearance is famous for bridgedeck slamming, making for an uncomfortable ride in heavier seas.
Yep and from a person whos got as much knowledge about the sea to tell you its salty. . i thought that too. It looks beautiful but in heavy seas just like the big ones made in tasmania for the us forces
@@adammallerman8153 The new ones are no better than the 1980 one I sailed on, I could drive the dinghy through under it, but it would slam so bad at sea, when pushed too hard, it cause cracking in the tunnel.
With all the experience that I've had for a performance vessel this looks pretty well-designed especially not having to walk through the port side head to get to the galley Saloon area I like it
Congrats!! as to the boat, not sure about the kitchen layout. anything falling off the stove is in for a lesson in gravity. while busily moving around the kitchen you have 2 very steep options for that lesson yourself. overall the boat looks very ready for the next owner, nice
First off. CONGRATZ!!! This boat was awesome. Liked the unique layout. I too would prefer a forward nav station. Been over 20knts and has a great layout. Until our adventures cross, fair winds and full sails.
Fair deal for a nice cat. The gelcoat interior and numerous step-over bulkheads will be a turnoff for many, but that makes for a strong easy care boat. Not having bow hatches is fine with me because it means no bow hatch problems. When you sail that fast you stuff the bows through lots of blue water. Tight interior access to clean space beats outdoor access to damp dirty space. I think the tanks were klutsy installs -waste of space.
Yes I agree the wave slapping would be ever present under the bridge deak apart from the noise it certainly would effect performance. Sure it maybe could achieve 20 knots given the right conditions but those conditions would only represent maybe A 5 percent window in overall sailing conditions. Good clearance above the sea on the bridge deak makes for a consistent sailing cat in all conditions
What is the beam? I think it might be a challenge to get a place to haul it. Bow lockers on this boat are meant to be very light. There will be spray aboard and probability of leaks around deck access. Deck access would make sense in a cruising boat, but not this one.
Congratulations , guess they were right about the convid19 baby boom thing .LOL Nice Cat but I think there are too many different heights to walk on/ around.. Could be a problem when your in a hurry to do something. Love the front inboard sleeping berths.. one of my things I like. Those engine spaces/ sharing with the steering gear, seemed a little tight but everything looks different in real life compared to video's. Keep up the great work. thanks.
your link is to the main page of Just catamarans - not specially to this Voyage 43 Norseman (2000)- i've searched ... but the price is USD 223.600,- and not USD 349k like in your description - also a Voyage 440 (2002) USD 299.000 - please, correct your description

Thanks for posting and sharing. Nice boat, and boat tour.
So now we know what you guys were doing with your spare time during the lockdown !!!
Congrats on the new addition to the family! Love the videos!
I like everything molded in, for strength, quietness and cleanliness ..Less wood enhancement, for cleaner look and maintenance ...
I agree on the strength and cleanliness, but for 329k. I’d be looking for at least a little luxury

Dagger boards? Can it go into the wind at all? Claimed speeds?

Thank you for the boat tour.
Love this cat. If I was going to buy one this is the best so far. Would love to see how it's set up under water.
Best catamarans out there .
Congratulations on your new crew member. Love your videos!
Congrats on baby 👍👍
What's the bridge deck clearance?
Congratulations! Can't wait to follow the three of you on the water.
Congratulations! Great to see there is a little deckhand in the making.
Congratulations guys! Such exciting news!
Congratulations on the new crew member!
Hey guys, I love your walk throughs and... Congratulations!!!
Congratulations to you both.great video 👍🏻
I really liked the layout. Very sturdy and well built.
Congratulations, always love the tours.
congrats on the new Crew, so happy for you guys, now, MOMA needs a stable Cat!
WOW ...CONGRATULATIONS. Can't wait to see who you have. ♥️

How does the Voyage 430 compare to the Manta MK Ii 42?
Congratulations you two!

Congrats you two!!!
A very nice boat, what capacity engines?

What about the fourth bed behind the mirror in the suite? Didn't show it!

Like the walk thrus and congrats Randy ❤️
Congrats on the baby you guys. Hope he/she will be welcomed to a much better world state than the one we have right now
Congrats you guys!!! The "nugget" sailor will be a treasure! :)
Congratulations ❤
price isn't in description ?
Aww congratulations to you both 🎉❤
Congrats for the baby
I like this 🐈

Time to update the description of your channel
Congratulations on your expanding family

Hi, Just finished watching, I could almost hear you! Turn the volume up, Please. Thanks, Steve
If you are going to review catamarsns you need to address bridgedeck clearance. This boat with extra wide beam and relatively low bridgedek clearance is famous for bridgedeck slamming, making for an uncomfortable ride in heavier seas.
I will do this in the next one. You're correct bridgedeck clearance is important for offshore passage making.
Yep and from a person whos got as much knowledge about the sea to tell you its salty. . i thought that too. It looks beautiful but in heavy seas just like the big ones made in tasmania for the us forces
I'm sure that's true but if you're buying cats from the 90s that's to be expected.

Fast passage maker right here.

I think Voyage cats were designed to be chartered in specific locations. That bridgedeck looks too low for bluewater cruising
100%

im new to this. how do you guys know if its bluewater capable?
Sweet cat. Grats on the new crew!
congratulations on the baby.
By the way this catamaran amazing I think it's made for U2. You should get this one I really like it.😊
Congrats Guys !
Emergency exits below?
I really like the layout...
I really like that layout. Very nice and comfortable.
Was that a pack of hotdogs @17:11 ??? 😂
How is the bridge deck clearance with the water, with the deeper main salon does that effect the boat? Cheers Warren

My favorite one yet you have done considering all aspects.
Congrats u 2 . Dont worry it'll be just fine .
Congrats!!
Congrats guys :)
Very good looking boat. 329???? well that is asking price. Very nice performance ride though.
I would like to have seen the doors / hatches into the bow lockers to be able to be dogged to make them a water tight in case of collision at sea.
