Finding you is like finding an oasis in a desert. Thanks for helping to make our lives that little bit better. 😊

I was doing this the other day after I accidentally struck and killed a deer. The best I could come up with was that at least I was OK and nobody else got hurt. It was also a reminder of how fragile life is. I feel terrible about what happened but it is what it is. Maybe I need a less difficult example, but you did say the first one that popped into my mind

Perhaps the deer only came into this world so as to be hit and make you a very aware driver so as to avert a tragedy that could occur if you forget to only drive sober or alert. ...or You could be happy you just won 6 months free meat to cook.. :)

This is genius. What a brilliant cognitive way to address anxiety and hopelessness. I'm totally going to try this and see what happens.

Needing to lose 40 lbs compared to being confined to a wheel chair ....suddenly doesn't seem so hard or important

I’ve heard this my whole life and I get it BUT what’s the point in comparing one’s issues with another’s?
While another may seem to have it worse it’s THEIR problem same as my problems are MINE! Nobody can feel or understand their problems but them and possibly each person had different tolerance levels, support systems, …
No point in comparing one persons “is what it is” to another’s!

The idea is to look at your problem and think of how it could be worse or better, eg. 2.5 months ago, my wife said she needs space, it could be worse if she said our marriage is done, so I can be thankful for that and feel hopeful to reconcile. If I focussed on how unfair it is that I have to be the one not staying at home, it would make me

I like the reply below. It isn't to belittle someone or make us feel better, it is to neutralize what is happening so we don't get stuck.
