The conventional way to live out your older years is no longer an option for many of us still in sticks and bricks. Husband’s die and leave us with a roof over our heads that we can’t afford. No pension, no life insurance, no health insurance. I do not want to live the rest of my life in this manner. There are options out there and even though they are unconventional, we have choices. If they’re not in our situation, they cannot understand. Thank you for these videos. They’re showing us how it’s done.

My husband will outlive me as his family lives way into there 90s. His mom passed away at the age of 98 and she still lived on her own. But she had a bad fall and needed hip surgery but sadly she gave up on life as she knew she would no longer be independent and would need to go into a home. My mother died just before her 58th birthday of a heart attack and I myself had a heart attack at 53. I managed to survive mine because the doctors put 2 stents in my heart. I still have a blocked artery somewhere so I know I'm on borrowed time. I'm not much older now than when my mother passed away.

Husband’s die and leave us with a roof over our heads that we can’t afford This is exactly what happened to a women I know here in this small town. Husband died in August 2022 and even before his death she had to work. She still continues to work to this day after working at the local supermarket for 20 plus years. I went to her retirement party, and she was full time retired for 4 years before going back to work. She is 73. She needs to sell that house and move into section 8 housing.

Great personalities. You Ladies are so positive and inspiring.
I turned 70 in February. A few weeks later, I found out I had Ovarian Cancer stage 3. I been having Chemo treatments every 3 weeks. Surgery is, hopefully, in December.
After I recover...in remission, I plan on having help & fixing up a Van, for my Adventures.
I've thought about this since last Fall.
So, Y'all keep up the awesome Encouragement to everyone. Thank You... you've made my evening.

Patti is an amazing lady! I hope I'm still able to travel when I reach 77! I would love to be 'homeless'. I think a better term for living on the road is 'baseless'. Your 'home' is your vehicle, what ever it may be. So not homeless. Patti has done a wonderful job of making her van very cozy!

👋🤔5 years ago I just took off in my Kia Rio with my cat and bunny and lived a full year as such. I chose to do it. I kept the inside as a car and made my trunk my storage. The bunny and cat loved to lay in the back window and when I stopped at a red light I could see the people in the cars behind me sit up and say, "it's a real bunny and cat!"😅. We were very comfortable together and both of them would get out of the car with me and stay nearby. They never needed a pen or leash. We would sit at picnic tables and such and hang out. 😊 We were 3 'girls' on a road trip. I considered myself a retired vacationer. I wasn't homeless, I walked away from a perfectly good brick and mortar and decided to venture. I've been with the girls in an apartment for 5 years again now and my feet are itching! I need to find a high top or truck and go again. I'm 62 and want to go across West to East this time. 🤪

I have great kids and grandkids who I’m lucky enough to live very close to. But I want a different kind of lifestyle for even just a while. Not sure what yet but seriously considering it now. I do have arthritis all over & fibromyalgia and I have terrible muscle spasms but I still get around and do pretty much what I want. I am watching your video with your guest and it has been wonderful listening to two intelligent women talking about real life. This Van is light and airy and not excessive. Keeping it simple is so much easier. Enjoying her family in the mix of her new life. I am 77 as of Jan 2024 and would love to do this Nomad lifestyle but, I have Crohn's Disease and getting to a proper washroom would be a requirement. Still, I am having fun following everyone else.
Stay safe. Thank You from, Ontario, Canada.
