My take on deciphering this, based on the official translations, and a bit of pure speculation: *Azshara* *Nordrassil* = "Crown of the Heavens", the World tree. But i believe that in this case it is meant in the literal sense. Something about Azshara and the Night Elves ruling the whole world before the Sundering. The initial part of the song seems to be a lament, telling the story of the Kaldorei, and a reminder of all they have lost. *Zin-Azshari* = "Glory of Azshara", their capital from before the Sundering. *Quel'dorei* = "Children of Noble Birth" , the Highborne. As i interpreted, she sings this on a somewhat bitter tone, showing resentment towards them. *Nordrassil* = "Crown of the Heavens" (Now this time i believe they are refering to the World tree itself). *Elune Adore* = Elune be with you/us (In no case "Adore" was oficially translated to "Be with us", but for the sake of trying to make sense of the lyrics, let's pretend it can also mean that. "Elune be with you" seems weird, who's this "you" they are refering to?) *Elune Adore* = Elune be with us. ~Drums start~ *Zin* = "Glory" (From "Zin-Azshari"). ~chanting~ *Nordrassil* *Elune* *Zin-Azshari* *Zin-Shan'do Adore* = Something along the lines of "May the glory of our honored teacher be with you/us". (Zin= Glory, Shan'do= "Honored Teacher", Adore= "Be with you".) I believe they are refering to either Cenarius or Malfurion. *Zin* = Glory.
@@tsvetlena9547 2 years late but I think its because of the city itself having that name. I dont think they're glorifying it. I love this song, because even without knowing a single word of the song , or the source material you would be able to interpret the meaning. Slow at first, majestic and mysterious like the ancient elven civilization. It is a gentle authoritative tone that slowly wanes as the drums pick up the pace. It tells of strife, of danger and challenge that the majestic melody experiences. And even as the melody and the drums grow faster , it maintains the harmony and dignity that is at the core of the subject material. The song is disrupted and yet remains consistent just like the Night Elves who stick true to their role and answer the call. The song triumphs over the trumpets. It marries with it and the strife becomes part of its identity. Ending almost abruptly like their civilization did, save for the very end, where the lyrics remind of the songs beginning, and the new drums announce that the ancient civilization still rises, and still remembers. This is a criminally underrated soundtrack outside of the fan circles that is.
I play this song for my best frined who commited suicide few days ago, he always loved it i will remember him by it, may God give you peace i miss you.
I'll never forget when I first heard this song so many years ago in Ashenvale around a single orc encampment. It was long before the song showed up in Ysera's death scene. I was questing around with my friends and I made everyone stop so I could just sit there and listen, utterly confused by its arbitrary little location and stunned by its epic beauty. It was so hard to leave, my friends had to drag me away.

The song is about Nordrassil yet the picture is actually of Teldrassil. Why can't Teldrassil look like that in the game? The big ol' stump that is the foundation of Darnassus is no where near as cool as this picture.
I think it's a stump because of how they let moonlight in. I could be wrong. It's also called 'The crown of Azeroth' so it could be a stump to look more like a crown.
I think they designed the in-game Teldrassil as a stump because the engine couldn't handle a full-blown, gigantic tree. In canon, it IS a big whole tree, the game just couldn't support it
