Yep, this is my new favorite channel too! I love the music, peacefulness, the joy of the animals as they romp, and play in their own paradise,, the wholesome hard work you two are doing to build your lives. Bless your young knees, hips, feet and hands.
You are such a lovely and elegant young lady ! Your artist heart and talent is lovely to see! Your husband is a funny, loving and gentle man ! I do so enjoy watching the great team you are! Thank you for sharing your lives with us ! 💁🙏😘🇺🇸👍
Dan and Sinndy's channel Simple Life Portugal is amazing. It's really sweet that people are giving them a shout out. I heard of them first from Project Portugal, Cindy Vine, and now you guys. Great community!
Are you sure Diogo is not part dingo?? Whenever you guys are working he is scanning everywhere on the look out for predators. He loves his family and was really having a lovely moment with his toy.
Thank you for asking us to support Simple Life Portugal. What an amazing couple, showing such love and strength during such difficult times. I’m currently watching their back catalogue to help.
Love to you both and I’m so very pleased that the UA-cam community in your area is backing Sindy and Dan. They, like you, are beautiful people, and they don’t deserve to be so down. Everyone is being marvellous. Much love from Oz🐨
Thank you so much for all you have shown us. You both have done an awesome job. God Bless you both for your kindness and love to everything and everyone you surround yourselves with.❤️🙏❤️
Hope Frankie is ok….Diego’s new toy is very cute, hope it works and he stops chewing the sofa…..will check out your friends Cindy and Dans page. Kindest regards from Ruth in New Zealand…
A great remedy for puppy chewing. Take a white tee or cloth. Wet and ring out. Take 2 teaspoons of meat gravy. Drizzle down the center. Then tye in knots. He will chew that looking for the meat.
Love watching your videos. I love the clouds, the insects, the flowers ... everything. I LOVE Frankie and the Diogo (?) and of course, the cats. They are so loved and loving. I have been watching some of your earlier videos and you have come a long way.
in amongst the lovlyness of your home n animals, the "beserkness" of lugging heavy stuff in a wheelbarrow!!!! blows my lights out. as a life-long organic gardner here in NZ, i'worked often n was at times sole charge in areas of usually 2 acres....n the easiest ever tool were smallish, ride-on lawnmowers (with catchers, of course, to capture the best of all garden n weed-control mulches, lawnclippings ) n when not in use for mowing, they had lil towbars on the back for not large, but tall-sided mesh, (removable) sides..n voila, you had a lil powerhouse of a mower cum tractor n trailer which made absolutely everything barring the very huge the easiest tasks.
I love, love your beautiful videos. You're a big part of my Saturday breakfast (watching from Los Angeles). My favorite parts are your animals, they always make me smile. Please keep doing what you're doing.
@ 6:41 Thank god you got a cement mixer. I was watching a Dutch man rebuild his house in Portugal and insisting there was no need for one. Despite almost all viewers watching the channel telling him how much easier it would if he did.
After helping my elderly mom have a unexpected but nice midnight shower and putting on fresh linens, it's been nice to chill back down enjoying this vlog. Terrific content. I like how you filmed Quinta das Matinhas (Quinta of Sunrises?) and gave it your Foggie treatment. Thanks for the sweet captures of loving on all the kitties, puppers, and piglets. And thanks for asking your viewers to put on Dan & Sindy's videos. 💖
Dear Frankie Mom, I think you should ask your vet if Miss !Frankie is overweight. My Fritzie was a standard Doxie. I was lucky enough that my mother prepared him stewed chicken with veggies. But in your case, ask about other easier alternative solutions. She should have private uninterupted food time. Only occasional veggie or protein snacks and lots of private time with you and father. I love her hairtcut!
Another lovely video. Thank you. You two are very possibly stronger in brain than body but, honestly, you are super industrious and I'm very happy to join you on your homesteading journey. I do love how the community has rallied around Dan and Sindy of Simple Life Portugal as they go through such an incredibly tough time. My thoughts and prayers are with them (oh, and I'm binge-watching from the beginning to get their 'Likes' and 'Views' up).
Congratulations on your growing cinematography skills! I have enjoyed every video along the way, even the rougher ones in the beginning. I like how you started this one showing activities around your homestead set to background music. It’s a lovely way to set the scene. I’m a country girl living in the suburbs (our jobs are keeping us here for now). We have our plot of land in the country. I can’t wait to move there. Your videos are a wonderful escape in the meantime. Thanks 🙏
I love how the doggos and kitties follow you everywhere. Have you tried drawing one of those gnarly old olive trees? That would suit your technique beautifully.
I saw the gorgeous sky in your video and remembered: yesterday there was yet another Starlink launch, 22 satellites, the "bundle" and then the "string"- they keep launching them, "in spades"!
What if you took 2x4s and made a strong flat cart with strong wheels so you could pull material instead of lifting. Just a suggestion! Good luck and I do look forward to your videos!
Enjoyable to watch your day to day with your choice of music, soft demeanor... and my hot cup of coffee. It's always nice to see Nick and Andrea. You have a great day, Iwan, Carissa, Frankie, Albi and the lot of your homestead animal family. I do hope Frankie feels better. It has to be hard to feel the pain in an area that allows the mouth to open to breath, and to eat.
Another enjoyed video with you both and the animals supervising the cat should be in the gymnastics squad please don't hurt yourselves with heavy work love the content Frankie Diego the cats such enjoyment to watch greetings from Australia
Really enjoy your video and you both work hard. Love the way you take such wonderful care of your animals and I am sure your ginger cat thinks she is the centre of attention-ha.
well done on moving it and all the setting up of the camera shots, and your pets getting in the way l mean helping you lol made me giggle 😆Lovely footage of project Portugal's home, great video as usual, you make my Saturday mornings, thank you ☺
By lifting the front of the concrete rafters you put all the weight on the handles instead of over the wheel of the barrow thus making it much harder for the barrow pusher. Oops.
Very true.. but also very difficult to hold the beam above the wheel of the barrow - we did try 😅 it wasn’t too difficult, I think the barrow helped spread the weight of the beam quite well.
That dust that came from the well, use it in your garden as it is full of minerals. You’ll just have to dig it into the soil to combine it with more organic material, your plants will thank you for it!
you might be surprised by the response to a go fund me appeal for a small garden tractor that would make all the difference with mundane hauling tasks. I can't believe that I would be the only one happy to contribute. Your channel is a constant pleasure, if UTube gold exists I can't imagine this not counting among them. Thank you. (perhaps 15-20k for a Chinese model and up to 3 times that for a north American/European one). All the best
Good idea with the wheelbarrow!!! When using a wheelbarrow always load the front, then the wheel is the balance point, try it with rocks etc. easier even if you only move half a barrow at a time…
A morning with very fresh air and very useful work to improve your place, the construction materials seem very heavy and a hard working day, hope you two will soon complete your project.
I just caught your channel, and BRAVO! I think you are doing a marvelous job of reuse & recycle. Since one of my cats is black, (Zorro), I tend to look for yours in your vids. If I may suggest? With 6 kids, my mom did A LOT of cloth diapers. (long ago). She ran two lines approx 12" apart and hung the diapers clipping one corner on one line, another corner on the other line. (Instead of side by side on one line.) Pants? One leg on one line, one on the other. Shirts clipped upside down by the bottom side seam. Now you're only taking up the width of a clothes pin and can dry 10 x's as much. Just an idea. I live in the US and envy your beautiful country. The land and how you are appreciating every inch. The weather, even the torrential downpours. Easily beats the northern winters here. I've subscribed and look forward to another vid. Again, Bravo!
That well capping is a big project, and tricky as you can't get the bits dropped close enough. Hope you don't mind, but found the wheelbarrow walking entirely comical, but a clever improvisation. I know you were thinking 'call Uncle Nick' for the bigger ones, but you might be able to do it yourself, if you had a wheelbarrow with two wheels. So if you can imagine one of those small kayak haulers, that is basically a V-shaped frame with the axle at the point of the V - if you could make up something like that, but using wheelbarrow wheels, and make the axle say, 1m wide, for stability, and about waist height, so say 900mm off the ground, you could lift beams onto it, one end at a time, strap them to it, and then simply wheel it like it was a wheelbarrow with 5m long handles..!! One hauling, one pushing and steering. This 'gurney' could also be used to carry other large objects like furniture, concrete blocks, tree trunks, whatever. Now as to getting the beams over the well - you need a pair of sheer legs. One of the simplest man-made tools of all time, and old as the Neanderthals. Google it and look for vids. With Iwan's rope skills, should be simple enough to erect and manage. Hope that helps!
How exciting. Cannot wait to arrive. Love watching your projects. So inspiring. Enjoy the fall and the cooler temps and rain. Cheers. Watching all of your work inspired me to create my own channel to document my property search when I arrive. I am learning how much work you put in making your beautiful videos and filming. Hope to meet you all on my property search. Keep inspiring. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal.
SIPPIN MY JAVA , GREAT EPISODE, BUT IM ON THE ROAD IN MY CALLEN CAMPER AND STREAMING THIS WHILE BOONDOCKUNG ON MY TRIP TO SEE GRANDKIDS SOME 1900 MILES FROM THE HOMESTEAD. I HOPE THE WEATHER HAS COOLED DOWN, AND GOOD TO SEE THE WELL COVER PROGRESSING. BE BLESSED YOU ALL!👍👍😄😄PRAYERS
Hi so many wonderful things in your video as always. Duck toy...my dog Bonnie who is a Staffie (the same as Nick and Ange's) loves her Ducky toy. We have to bulk buy them 😂 they do not last long but oh boy does she love them no other toy ever measure up to Ducky 😂. Thank you for shouting out Dan and Sindy I went over there after Nick also gave them a shout out and am 3/4 of the way through their videos. I haven't watched recent ones yet as I really like to go to the beginning and get to know people and watch their journey fully. However another channel I watch (mark and Carys (?)) Mentioned the situation and I am devastated for them. Good luck with the well capping and see you are stronger than you think 😂
I like your honesty about the heat! In Southern Colorado high desert country - last summer was so hot I spent most days inside. Now, mid October it feels so summer like - I feel guilty for enjoying climate change & am out every day, The more I watch Frankie off Grid - the more I envy you - in spite the hard work. I know envy is not a virtue; but, the world is in such a state your life style away from it all - becomes, to me, more and more appealing. And, I like your graphic T-shirts - no commercial logo, just appealing graphic designs. Keep the faith. Someday, all your hard work will be rewarded.
Love the spirit and vibes of FOG❤ Please, on a serious note for your next Q and A....UK Expats all over the globe are having their UK bank accounts closed...If expats do not read between the lines..their hard earned and taxed funds will be frozen. The cost of relocation are high..and many don't factor in ..the emergency flights back to uk, and the need to pay for private health care. Not all expats have supportive family members...not even for emergencies. Loving your videography. ❤🇯🇲🐕🐕🐈🐈👍🏖🌺🐠🦩
Hello there 🙋♂️ one good thing it's a one off lifting these heavy concrete beams take baby steps to get it to the roof have everything in place that can take the strain of your back can you get your hands on some tressels my spelling isnt my strong point You work amazingly well together to get the task done What you are creating is a little Gem all the best from the west of Ireland 💎🏠🍰🍀👍🍻
Your garden is looking so nice now and boy you two have got your work cut out for you moving those lengths of concrete beams . Are you not able to build a road up to your house as that would make life so much easier for you both . Loved watching the reaction with the dogs with the dog toy .
Just found your channel, brilliant work and the place looks amazing, just a little advice if i may, think of ways to make your lifting and draging easier, the concrete posts and blocks would be much easier to pull on a 4 wheeled trolly, dolly, 2 batterns with somthing like pram wheels on the back and 2 stearable front wheels, hope that helps in some small way, regards to you both and stay safe.
Haha, Diogo loves his toy! Scary watching your lifting technique, please bend your knees & keep your back straight & never turn & lift at the same time. Admire your determination! 🏴❤🏴 X
Thank you! Interestingly.. the last time I did a manual handling course they’ve decided that the straight back & bent knees technique isn’t necessarily the safest.. 🤷♂️ we’re always careful though! ❤️
@@FrankieOffGridThat's interesting indeed as I was quoting my work training re knees & backs which is out of date already it seems. Stay safe anyway, good luck with the rest of the work on the well.
All our family's sausage dogs have chewed the squeakers out of the dog toys. They see it as a challenge! What is that white bucket hanging in the air doing? I'm presuming it's a counter weight of some sort, but I'm not sure.
Good news is the Evening of the 6th is actually the Beginning of the 7th day Sabbath. The Day of Rest. It ends in the following Evening. God/ELOHIM blessing you both ❤
You could still grow things were the well soil hardened just put your plants in big pots or put raised beds on top of the granite soil. At least you won't have critters that dig come up in your beds lol. Those beams look really heavy, don't mess up your backs. Take care love watching your videos. Oh no sure if this will help with the mosquitoes bitting but maybe you could soak your gloves in citronella oil or if you have shoe laces soak them maybe that way they won't but so much?
You may find the rock dust can be mixed with soil and be planted over: use plenty of bio mass, organic matter, and what is bio unavailable will become available through the magic of the plant's roots and their chemistry. Use mulch always too, especially in Portugal with its dry season. Do not pull "weeds" up either: it's around the roots that the microbiology is the richest and drying happens all too easily when you pull up root systems and expose them to the sun. If I lived closer I would come and visit to help, but I am in Peru!! Maybe one day!! I want to learn your accents: I think of your accents as the way Robin Hood would have spoken!!!
At some point I wondered whether you guys will learn some bee keeping skills? It would definitely be a great benefit to your off grid survival and just for bartering.
Hey guys! You guys are definitely strong. You really need a drive way to the house, it would make your life so much easier. Loving the pets all around you and all the love they have towards you both. Keep it up. Love and be safe!😘🤗🌼🇻🇪

So sweet how those critters follow you around.

Funny watching your animals following back and forth.😂
Thank you for mentioning Dan and Cindy from @SimpleLifePortugal they need all the support we can give them.
Awe Frankie wanted to play with the tiny pigs. Amazing little farm, great to have special friends who help each other out. ❤❤❤

awe... Diogo and that toy duck... priceless!
I can hear the Django Reinhardt infelance to that music. Is really nice.
Oh you can see stars your so blessed!!!
Those will either make you strong or kill your back. 😅 You guys are amazing. ❤
A great remedy for puppy chewing. Take a white tee or cloth. Wet and ring out. Take 2 teaspoons of meat gravy. Drizzle down the center. Then tye in knots. He will chew that looking for the meat.
Great tip!
Love watching your videos. I love the clouds, the insects, the flowers ... everything. I LOVE Frankie and the Diogo (?) and of course, the cats. They are so loved and loving. I have been watching some of your earlier videos and you have come a long way.

We have found that a four wheeled garden cart will shift most things. Thanks for the vlog.
Need to look for one of those!
"Stronger in the brain than in the body" helps a lot with these kind of jobs. Such a nice relaxing video with your cute garden helpers 🐈🐕💛🐈🐕
Diego is so cute play with his new toy 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love, love your beautiful videos. You're a big part of my Saturday breakfast (watching from Los Angeles). My favorite parts are your animals, they always make me smile. Please keep doing what you're doing.
I love when they interact with wine. You can just see how happy it makes them.
@ 6:41 Thank god you got a cement mixer. I was watching a Dutch man rebuild his house in Portugal and insisting there was no need for one. Despite almost all viewers watching the channel telling him how much easier it would if he did.
I bet you he’ll get one soon 😅
After helping my elderly mom have a unexpected but nice midnight shower and putting on fresh linens, it's been nice to chill back down enjoying this vlog. Terrific content. Love watching your videos and sending 🙏🙏🙏 to Sindy and Dan... your four legged friends are adorable 🥰
But she is (centre of attention)❤❤❤
Lovely. Your place is looking so beautiful.

Hi, Carissa and Iwan. Good job on moving the material for capping the well! I hope that Frankie is ok. Take care… see you next week.
For fruit flies. Just put a bit of fruit and water in a container. Cover top with plastic. Cut a small 1/2” slit in the plastic. Flies go in and die.

Your garden is looking so nice now and boy you two have got your work cut out for you moving those lengths of concrete beams .
Are you not able to build a road up to your house as that would make life so much easier for you both .
Loved watching the reaction with the dogs with the dog toy .
😂oh that made me chuckle watching him walk with the wheelbarrow
Great job!

They’re always changing it 😅 same with the first aid courses

All our family's sausage dogs have chewed the squeakers out of the dog toys. They see it as a challenge!
What is that white bucket hanging in the air doing? I'm presuming it's a counter weight of some sort, but I'm not sure.
It’s an ancient method of getting water from the well! Very clever 😅
o vosso vídeo de manhã é um bom começo para um dia relaxante ❤
🙏🙏Sindy e Dan
❤
At some point I wondered whether you guys will learn some bee keeping skills? It would definitely be a great benefit to your off grid survival and just for bartering.
Our neighbours actually have a hive only 50m or so from our house so I think it would actually create bee wars 😅
@@FrankieOffGrid well that's even better & the honey is right at your fingertips and ya don't have to fuss with getting stung or sticky all the time.
Is there a reason why you are not making a driveway up to your living area?
We didn’t think that it would be necessary.. but we are reconsidering. It would be very helpful!
Hey guys! You guys are definitely strong. You really need a drive way to the house, it would make your life so much easier. Loving the pets all around you and all the love they have towards you both. Keep it up. Love and be safe!😘🤗🌼🇻🇪
