    Hi Mike, I wanted to congratulate you on your professionalism in explaining techniques and concepts in a clear and accessible way to all.A hug from Italy

    With the bottomless pit of mixing tutorials on UA-cam it’s difficult to find the good ones as there is a lot of misinformation out there and I don’t want the life story and all those flashy graphics and glitchy editing. Your tutorials are straight to the point and a steady pace. It doesn’t matter which DAW you are using these tutorials are across the board, my go to. Thanks Mike.

    Truly respectfully cheers to you, Mike. Your indepth single video sessions outside the Bootcamp course are exceptional. They are huge steps up above any other YT content as you are not only presenting bread crumbs here but complete (incredibly valuable) concepts and how to apply them. That's such an amazing gift for the people willing to learn and experiment on that basis. Regarding your background in music industry, it's so cool how relaxed and without overdone attitude you teach. It's one thing to have the experience and knowledge, but another whole thing to be a classy teacher. Cheers

    Just downloaded these session files today - ideal timing! Bootcamp - best investment I've made regarding access to pro knowledge, workflow and feedback. Wide variety of projects and tasks to complete on a weekly basis. Highly recommended.

    Great job as always Mike. Your dialog mic is quite sibilant on this video. Also, if you turned this effect on and off for comparison we could more easily hear what width and depth is being added by your process. You are the best instructor on the internet so please take these suggestions as positive input. Your ability to explain and illustrate the tricks you've learned is better than anyone's. Thank You for your generous contributions to the craft.

    Thanks Mike. I was struggling with a mix and I tried this technique and suddenly the Sonics sound closer to what i was hearing in my head. And it was a 2 track instrumental so I only applied it to the vocals and it still work. Keep up the good work Mike. Thanks again!

    Guys, I was getting frustrated because I couldn't hear the changes when he started adding the depth reverb to the instruments! I'm glad he recognized that he was adjusting the wrong channel and didn't edit it out. This happens to everyone eventually. Mike, you had me questioning my ears and career path for a while. lol What's crazy is your mind begins to enhance the details as you adjust the dials creating a phantom mix! Great video as always Mike!

    This sounds like a great concept and I subscribe fully to getting dimension into the mixes.
    There is one problem I have with the outcome throughout the entire demonstration: I'm hearing a mid range convolution that's mostly perceivable between 100 and 300 Hz and a noticeable buildup around 230 Hz. I would either use a different reverb or add a multiband compressor to the output of those verbs to control and hold back those buildups. Mono check would be also very valuable here.
    Other than that, very useful and inspiring video. Thanks so much
    Blessings

    This is next level! Thank you for sharing this, Michael. I’m confused how this works along with other reverbs (plate, hall, ect). Would you send a sound to one of these particular sends/aux’s AND a plate reverb for example? Or would the plate be after the RVerb on the send? Cheers!

    • @calvinschatzke5899
      @calvinschatzke5899 2 роки тому +3

      Plate is just another type of reverb. I would only use a single reverb plugin per send. I really like valhalla plate.
      U could even create a delay send which is linked 100% to the reverb and automate the instrument send amount to the delay to create additional depth ans movement if needed. Just experiment with endless possibilities.

    Great stuff. I feel like you’re giving away industry secrets here. You must be totally hated by your peers. 😂

    Hey Mike!! Is there a course on you website where I can specifically dig deeper into this topic, I've watched and bought your courses before but this approach on using Reverb as a kind of dimensional bussing hadn't come across me up until now with this Boot Camp Tip, I had used Reverb in the past but it always felt kinda unorthodox and like cheating but I now kinda feel relieved of my sonic sins ;)) appreciate your work!!

    Would this be a similar technique to using UAD Ocean Ways Studios as a reveb send effect?

  • @adieltm
    @adieltm 3 роки тому

    does this work the same as the Early reflections technique?
    Edit: Answered thank you

  • @Barncore
    @Barncore Рік тому

    Quick question, do you have your Rev sends receiving the pre-fader or post-fader information? E.g. lets say you're sending drums and guitar to the Rev-depth send, does all the compression and EQ get included in the reverb send? Or just the raw source sounds?
    Another question, so just to confirm, generally the further back Reverb wil have more early reflection information + less predelay? And the more upfront Rev will have more width + more predelay + less early reflection information + more late reflection tail?

    I'm a little confused watching this. Did you make a reverb send that every track went to? Or was the master routed to it or something? Or were your just using the Reverb on the vocals. Again, I'm confused. Can you help?

  • @IamtheI
    @IamtheI 2 роки тому

    what if told you that rverb you were tweaking was the front verb and you had the fader all the way down..
