Hi Laura - I know that you have spoke in another video of moving from your home some day - but I would NEVER want to leave your house - your kitchen, basement, bedroom, EVERYTHING is SO COZY AND BEAUTIFUL!!!
@@leftcoastrevivals my cats are naughty. They climb over everything eat plants and my big boy pushes things (or sits on them) out of his way. Yeah i yell and 20 minutes later they are doing mischief. I had to throw away a couch that i bought a few years ago from Salvation Army that was from The 20s or 30s 1900s. My boy made hole on bottom and pulled out horse hair stuffing and burrowed himself cozily inside for his afternoon naps. I don't know how to maintain my stuff other than not displaying it.
It is quite creative, isn't it? Just borders on hippie but not... I don't know what word to give it. Not eclectic... not antiquey but so classy. I guess you have mastered a style that is all you. Bravo young lady. Bravo. Hard to impress me but you have. I ABSOLUTELY love just everything & especially the way you have merged it all blended it all together. How did you learn to discover a true treasure when you find them like say the cat? It is cute, but obviously it's more than just cute. Did you go to school & study art antiques?
Love your living room. And I think your teal sofa and mustard yellow chair compliment each other beautifully. Especially with your new avocado green rug in between them. They all slide right along one side of the color wheel. Gorgeous.
$30 for that huge rug?! They way you were saying people didn’t want to fork over the cash for it made me think it was going to be several hundred dollars. You scored big time on that rug!!!
I think my favorite thing in this room would have to be how happy it makes you. You have this beautiful glow when you talk about your finds. If I had to pick a material favorite it would be the teal sofa hands down. I love the style and color. Another really good video!
You have such a talent for "putting it all together" in such a pleasing matter. So nice to see color and not just white and gray as so many have these days.
I love your Lisa Larson cat, your vintage mirror, your brass candle holding sculpture, your real cats, & how happy you are in your space. You are an inspiration.
Finally!!!!!🙌🏼 Someone that understands me and my process (that never ends) for design and my eccentric eye. I swear you’re THE FIRST one that summarizes what my mind looks for and doesn’t present things like 99% of everyone else these days....with neutral matchy “boho/trendy/plant” decor and alllllways the white walls. SO HAPPY TO FIND YOUR AMAZING CHANNEL!!!!!!! 🙏🏼
Love everything and yes, that mustard chair does go with the teal sofa because the chair color is actually a neutral color. You have all the brass. Gold in pictures, etc. all around the room. What lucky to have found all the specials things that you’ve wanted. Great job!
You're living room is wonderful. And also a great example how 2nd hand furniture can look cosy, inviting and modern without feeling stuffy, dated or cluttered. I'm a fan.
I am just in Awe of your creative talent!! You front room look so spectacular!! Thank you Laura for brightening my day with your finds from thrifting, really like the green rug!!. You bring me hope in tomorrow. Love you Laura Blessings from Roseburg,Oregon.
Your tone just exudes style and confidence! I love all of your treasures! You make it look so easy and seamless! Probably the absolute best UA-cam channel I’ve seen for thrifted style! Keep up the amazing job! Seriously, #goals!
I miss thrifting sooooo much! Your place looks beautiful. My entire home is also completely thrifted. Seriously, why get something at IKEA when you can get a quality piece for usually less than half the price AND it's one of a kind AND you don't have to build it? Ha! Love it! :)
I saw a similar Lisa Larson cat in a Crazy Lamp Lady video at an outdoor flea market laying in a box of junk and She went right past it. I was screaming, the cat, the cat!
@@svietka202 No, I saw it on a YT video I was watching put out by the Crazy Lamp Lady. She was at a flea market and it was laying in a box she walked by in the video. She sells mostly vintage and antique porcelein items.. It was in Pennsylvania. But I look for one like it everywhere I go thrifting. Love your show!
Your style is definitely eclectic and spontaneous. You’ve got an eye for unique pieces. Your positive, sunny personality is a also what attracts such good finds. You just seem like a nice person
Whoa!! That green rug! And everything else. I too have decorated my entire home with thrifted items. Wouldn't want it any other way. It's so much fun hunting♡ Can't wait for the next video
That's an amazing Goodwill! Love that you found that beautiful cat & took that embarrassing price tag off it 💕. You have great taste putting things together.
You have the same loves that I do. I am 73, and all those things you love were new when I first started decorating. Your gallery wall was a brand new thing in 1966...we called them groupings, and I was one of the first of my circle to have one. Everybody else had one big painting or mirror over their sofa. A decorator here in Memphis had an adorable shop, Mr. B's, and he did my first one. I then did them for my friends. I'm like you in that I do not want what everybody else has or is doing. I have relatives in Roseburg, and we visit them when we can. I tell them all the time and I'll tell you...you have no idea how blessed you are to live there(save for the politics). Your antiques, thrifts, and especially PLANTS are amazing. Even in little Roseburg, the nursery was so amazing I wanted to cry! Love you and Salina and look forward to your videos! If I were younger, I'd move out to Roseburg. If I won the lottery, I'd move now! hahaha
I love your style. I love the fact that most of the things were thrifted. Annoying watching shows that show you expensive furnishings that most can't afford, but the pieces you pick up are stunning. Love it.
I used to feel the same way! I always loved the hgtv design shows about finding flea market finds rather than the fancy designers with new stuff. Just ends up at Goodwill’s when it goes out of style in 2 years anyways 🤷🏻♀️
I like the team and mustard yellow together. They contrast, and help the eye move around the room! Your gallery wall is calming, yet inspiring. I'm always inspired by spring.🎨💗Enjoy your "new" space!
I love everything, but I have loved your gold velvet pillow with the black pom poms for so long, I had to make one for myself! I was very patient and searched Goodwill and other thrift stores for a dress made from gold velvet for months. I finally found one, paid $6.99, cut it up, bought the pom poms and voila. A beautiful rectangular gold velvet pillow doe my couch. I love my Laura pillow! I'll have to send you a picture. Thanks for inspiring me so much.
Nancy Nucci I have found that I will cover pillows with sweaters that I love. And have kept dresses and skirts just for the fabric for pillow making. Have a skirt I made in 1978 that makes beautiful pillows....my sister couldn't believe I still had it...she helped me hem that skirt. But the fabric is still gorgeous.
You’re makeover looks amazing...! I did love the before also. Any way Laura you never cease to amaze me...! Being a maximalist myself & lover of anything mid century & boho , l just love everything in your beautiful home and the way you decorate ! 💗
Love this room! So tranquil and inviting. That rug was a great score and is perfect with the couch. Really like how you style your shelves with books and smalls and all the greenery. Has a very warm, earthy feel. And your cats are adorable.
I admire that you and your parents did not let your dyslexia get the best of you - you seem so great at so many things that make you happy. Love your living room - it is definitely a place for living.
Love how curated everything is. I actually really like the teal couch with mustard arm chair. I would paint the room walls a warm color to give a calm feeling
I know this is an older video, but I just love it. Yes, the teal and mustard absolutely DO work together, and I LOVVVVVE those lamps on either side of the couch. So many great things. Thanks for sharing your home.
😂 I’d live there in a minute if I could. My first trip in 2008 when I was single, I struck a deal with a bartender. I’d buy him a Vespa if he married me for citizenship 🤷🏻♀️ I truly hope to live there someday.
That’s my goal, everything thrifted. I have a Barbara Barry sofa I thrifted. It was 1800 and I had put it on layaway and when I went to get it it was a 75% off sale day and they honored that. So I got the side chair that matches and paid like $550 for both pieces. The sofa is gorgeous 92” suede and twill and down filled. I have two lamps that I wish I knew who they are by but I live them and looking for art now. I love your mustard chair and the credenza.
I'm ready to bawl my eyes out. You had my late moms grapevine coffee table with the peanut shaped glass top. I have never ever seen another one like the one she had until right now in your video. Due to some unimaginable circumstances, I have my mom Bible, a few handwritten recipes, a bundt pan and that's it, that belonged to her. I'm shaking right now. I love your living room, its so cozy, fun and eclectic. Mustard yellow and teal is so freaking beautiful together. It can almost work like a neutral. You may have just sold me on shopping at thrift stores😉
Hello there. Your comment brought back so many memories of my own mother and some the many possessions I have now which were once hers What a beautiful sentiment 2 share about your mom. I don't know how old u r but please know this, money and things r fine but making beautiful memories either with a loved one or alone is PRICELESS.Make your memories count!🎇
I am constantly moving things around and decorating. I want the right feeling...I thought I had an illness. Good to know there are serial re decorators ...love your finds and style.
I think your house is beautiful. I’m like you, I don’t do new. My taste is more British 1940’s because I like dark furniture. We bought a wartime suite a couple of years ago for £20 and I’m still in love with it 💗
I cant believe you originaly didnt want your own channel. You were born for this. The way you speak and talk about your things is so engaging! I loved absolutely loved this video although I already seen a lot of these finds I loved seeing them again and hearing all the stories behind them. I got distracted by a text so I missed about 2 minutes..... well lets just watch the whole video again! Youre very talented, not just in design also in video making!
Oh so beautiful. It's very well done. So cozy looking. I'm a Vintage Maximalist also so I'm drawn to this particular look. Yours is really sharp... I need to do a refresh!
I love the whole look in the living room. The couch , to me, the piece that anchors the room. I think alot like you. Your videos are relaxing as well as informative. Thanks for showing your style.
😂😂my husband like a to thrift with me, I like to thrift alone. He always second guesses my finds, I end up thinking about those pieces and hopefully they will.be there the next day. 😂Go with your Gutt insnstict, remember it the pieces that speak to you.
joanna prevost My sister gave me a note pad that says “Nothing haunts us like the things we didn’t buy !” so I know for sure exactly what you mean ! I have come home, turned around in my driveway & gone right back to the same shop I had just left to buy an item I couldn’t stop thinking about !
Next time ask for a price. I got a rug that size at the bins for $5 last year cause I ask the lady in charge how much cause I didn't want to pay by the pound. My daughter even haggled on a furniture set. She only got $20 off it but that was something at least.
I could live in that room and I don’t say that often. You’ve nailed the calm feeling. Thrifting has been a way of life for me since about age 7 when my parents split up the first time and we had to do it. I converted my husband 45 years ago. The things I live with need to have stories, memories, maaaybeeee serve a purpose and must be moveable, from room to room and home to home. The mustard in your chair and pillows (great color tie-in by the way) remind me of when my parents obsessed over the cushion covers to be made for a piece of Scandinavian furniture they purchased. Mustard won out! I’ve grown to appreciate that color over the years, perhaps because of quilt making. The parents were back together and we lived in Italy, a good year. Thank you for sharing your home.
100% of mine is. The only new items I own are my laptop and camera. All household items came from auction or thrift stores. And it's way cheaper her inn the Midwest than what she's paying. My couch is a mint condition flexsteel camel color for $5. An older couple with no kids had it. Looks brand new.
@Lola Montez the couch I bought is not vintage. It's probably late 90's early 2000's. They likely bought t then passed away shortly after. Point I was making is the price. . My pace is a mix of 1970-80's to around the mid 90's. I know they pay more on the East coast. I used to see prices in magazines. I was thinking I should haul it there to sell! lol I'm older and disabled now so not buying much anymore .Downsized a few yrs. ago. But I sure miss the hunting and buying.
I know everyone says they're a mix of you and Selena, but I really am.y style, and Instagram name is baroquegrunge (baroque.grunge on insta). I love this! 😻
I love your style! Mustard and teal are my favourite colours!!!! ...and I think they look great together!!!! Especially that mustard chair - so incredible!
That room is beautiful and so are you! Love the detail you went into to tell us about your thrifted finds and love how you have put them together to make such a comfortable home!
I am so grateful to have found YOU (and completely by accident!!). While still residing in San Rafael ( Marin County) I, very organically found my way to our local Goodwill which had some of the most incredible treasures. I was able to find my dear (high school) friend an original M.C. Escher drawing. I presently have a Pottery Barn ebony (painted?) wood map drawer coffee table that, when I last checked, retailed for $600. I paid $25 for it. A Zgalerie, wide, plush, chair w/an elephant tapestry fabric on it. A solid wood, men’s chifforobe w/ double upper cabinet doors (1 big interior shelf, 2 drawers) and 3 large bottom drawers....you’re joy at what you do has me nostalgic for my days of tracking down beautiful pieces, as well as clothing, art items, keeping as treasures for my home and, sometimes, reselling. Seeing your video makes me feel more confident, and less dysfunctional, about my design and decor choices. Thank you. Gonna be pulling out some beautiful art pieces by Herbie Rose and having them reframed!
They have some really good stuff out there in Oregon.I love your style.I love that you love and appreciate used anything.Your very gifted.I look forward to future videos.
I loved all of it --- and the way you've put it all together --- and your joy! If I chose only one item, I think it would be the rug!!! When you dropped it on the floor, my heart soared!!! Thank you for sharing!
Your living room is beautiful. You have a great eye for the things and the way you put things together is amazing. I love your channel and the recycled life. I wish we had stores around here to thrift in.
Aloha Laura, I have literally been feasting on UA-cam decorating videos for the last two months as I, like everybody, have been holed up in my home. I found yours today and must say it is literally the most delicious one I've viewed so far. Perhaps because I am not minimalist, more of a Middleist LOL, but do like my "stuff." And not a big rule follower either. It's fun to create. And recreate...and recreate some more! I am smiling at your vintage and mid-century finds. Why? Because I'm 72 and grew up with lots of the furniture you so delightfully found. Back then...it was just what we had, which wasn't much. I didn't even know about the term mid-century until last year and boy did I feel old when I heard it. It also makes me sad that when my parent passed we donated many of their beautiful Danish Modern furniture to Good Will. When I see the prices on these items now, I cringe with regret. You have given me a new appreciation for many valuable items that one can find in thrift shops. Thanks again! I look forward to more!!! :)
So glad you found me on here! 💙 My husbands love of Mid Century comes from wonderful memories at his grandparents home. It’s amazing how nostalgic vintage furniture as design can be!
Last week in central Wisconsin, we had days of sub zero weather. I had so much fun “shopping”, or rather unearthing treasures stored in my basement, and various closets in my house. I put together a gallery wall in my hallway from all of the original watercolors I had bought while thrifting in the past. I found better ways to display some of my pottery collection and each day, I found I woke in the morning with a renewed sense of purpose. While I listened to you talk about your finds, I thought, “ this woman speaks my language”which is the language of thrifting! I love your couch and the mustard chair! They both have a very unique style.
Laura I grew up with a majority of the things you find. It is nice to see the younger generation discovering past things and their uses. The red rug is lovely, but, that green one, oh, my, that is superb. Did make a big difference in your room. Love your couch also. Watched your new home video, cannot wait to see what you and your husband do there.

What a beautiful sentiment 2 share about your mom.
🥰 Thank you so much for the encouragement!! 💙💙
My fave things were the rocking chair and the ceramic cat...and the real cat.
Oh so beautiful. It's very well done. So cozy looking. I'm a Vintage Maximalist also so I'm drawn to this particular look. Yours is really sharp... I need to do a refresh!
Tell me more about the wooden floors in your living room please
I second that! Just wanted to ask this question myself. I've never seen a floor like that and it looks really cool.
@@dontevenask4113 looks like simple sheets of plywood with some sort of varnish on it.
They are so beautiful arnt they xx
Love your style! That rug is gorgeous and totally works in your living room. Beautiful!
Laura, please tell me how your living room floor is made, it's beautiful!
Cary Ulmer That’s what I was wondering. It’s gorgeous!
Calissa I hope she tells us. I have a room that type of floor would look great in.
Random comment.....dig your fabulous boots!
You have an incredible eye. I'm mad for that "1880s" cat.
I love the whole look in the living room. The couch , to me, the piece that anchors the room. I think alot like you. Your videos are relaxing as well as informative. Thanks for showing your style.
A girl after my own heart! Lucky girl; husband thrifts with you!!! Jealous!!
I'm so lucky! He loves thrifting!
😂😂my husband like a to thrift with me, I like to thrift alone. He always second guesses my finds, I end up thinking about those pieces and hopefully they will.be there the next day. 😂Go with your Gutt insnstict, remember it the pieces that speak to you.
joanna prevost 😂😂😂😂 you have a point.
@@plaidpaisley5918 😂😂
joanna prevost My sister gave me a note pad that says “Nothing haunts us like the things we didn’t buy !” so I know for sure exactly what you mean ! I have come home, turned around in my driveway & gone right back to the same shop I had just left to buy an item I couldn’t stop thinking about !
The Larson cat is my favorite!
Your living room is beautiful. You have the “eye” for decorating.
Love the sofa!!! Oh, that chain lamp!!@
You like stuff but it doesn’t look cluttered...at all!
I love this!! I also love that you your finds. Plants in pots, etc.
Next time ask for a price. I got a rug that size at the bins for $5 last year cause I ask the lady in charge how much cause I didn't want to pay by the pound. My daughter even haggled on a furniture set. She only got $20 off it but that was something at least.
Haggling at a shop where all the proceeds go to charity is a bit off.
Not everything goes to charity most goes to employes. Besidescthe people who shop in goodwill are the ones trying to furnish on a budget
Thrifting really is a way of life isn’t it!? 💙 I bet that year in Italy was very special! 💚
80% of my home is thrifter. Mostly because I love the hunt.
Favorites: sofa, mustard chair, rocking chair, credenza, and brass candle holders. Great space! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome refresh! You give such great hints, too! Thanks for sharing
That room is beautiful and so are you! Love the detail you went into to tell us about your thrifted finds and love how you have put them together to make such a comfortable home!
I love your style! Especially the decor items like the baskets, clocks, books, and Knick knacks. So cool!
I loved this video! Thrift shopping is a hobby I sooo enjoy. Your living room is a style that I like because it’s eclectic. To much would be favorite.
I love your thrifting vibe!! You have a great eye & really know how to pull it together.
Super video, thanks for all the ideas, especially the gallery wall with a theme.
Really enjoyed all your ideas. I love your pottery and baskets. Your kitchen is. Beautiful
I loved all of it --- and the way you've put it all together --- and your joy! If I chose only one item, I think it would be the rug!!! When you dropped it on the floor, my heart soared!!! Thank you for sharing!
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm going thrifting next week. Thanks for the incentive.
Hope you find some treasures!
Your living room is beautiful. You have a great eye for the things and the way you put things together is amazing.
I love your channel and the recycled life. I wish we had stores around here to thrift in.
I never find anything as great as that rocking chair or rug. It’s all beautiful.
Beautiful! You are very lucky with your finds and are so knowledgeable.
You have some really nice pieces of furniture! Love the mustard yellow chair and that credenza!
