A small bit of info from XB1. Machina can seemingly adjust the rate of which they age manually. There's a conversation with a machina child who says his friend's growth algorithm is malfuctioning. So perhaps Machina over time decided to age at the same rate as humans? Also, my guess for Eunie is that she may be three-quarter homs and that's why she ages like one. This would explain her hair color and why her wings are even smaller than a half-homs like Melia. It's clear that "normal" high entia still exist in this universe since Melia is still around, and they likely age the way typical entia do
I vaguelly remember there was a side quest in XBC1 about a dying machina and you can help her in multiple ways (mainly increase her life span so she doesn't die, immedietaly, but one day will... and Shulk had a monado vision of the future where everything was in ruin and the poor machina was last living thing in the world, oops) "three quarter", but that's not how it works, it's half, quarter, 1/8, 1/16,... etc. (just sayin') ^^
Small correction, if Eunie was three quarters High Entia she would be more High Entia than Melia, who's half High Entia, you probably mean one quarter High Entia instead

You might be right about the clocks being a consequence from their birth, but I think that the Off-seers don't reset the clocks, but killing does. "Killing in order to live" is what Noah says in the trailer, so maybe everytime they kill someone or something, they absorb the energy remaining in the dead person's clock into their own and that's the only way to prolong their lives beyond some 35 years(18 times 2 since Noah's clock appears to be about half in the beginning of the game.) As the party progresses, they kill more monsters(and people?) and so their clocks get full and we see the full Ouroboros symbol.

only based on the information you got, i think these are the characters who appeal more to me: 1. Mio: i'm interested in her character arc personally, plus gormotti girls are always welcome in my heart 2. Lanz: his design overall is pretty cool, and i like his attitude of "my friends are the most valuable thing for me" 3. Eunie: i can relate to her attitude of being straight forward with her thoughts, and i like characters who take their responsabilities seriously, like Morag from XB2

This could hold interesting implications. But, all of this could just be a nod to Xenoblade 1, and nothing more, but still, I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.

@@gmaster2647 That sounds totally possible, we even have the old titans from the previous games, or at least remnants of them, with the key visual showing off the Urayan titan and the Mechonis Sword (Which I think Takahashi has stated has some significance in the game) If these giant mechs end up being the titans of this game, I think that we could end up with a sort of trilogy of titans, ie, the ones from 1, 2, and these new giant mechs from 3, all in one game. That would line up nicely with the whole theme of "trilogy" we've been seeing so far in xenoblade games. Also, looking at what titans in Xenoblade 2 are called in japanese: 巨神獣 (Kyo Shin Juu) = Giant God Beast/Giant Divine Beast (Xenoblade 2 reads the characters as "Arusu" tho, I think its supposed to be latin "Ars") This definitely supports the fact that "Giant God" in "Iron Giant God" could simply just mean "Titan" in general in this context, as in the new titans of this xenoblade game, instead of "Iron Giant God" = "Iron Bionis". This is further supported by the fact that Agnus uses these giant mechs as well, who are more Xenoblade 2 leaning in terms of aesthetic. What made me think otherwise in my comment that "Iron Giant God" = "Iron Bionis" was that these "Iron Giant Gods" are also called "Colonies", which seemed coincidental. Seemingly, overall, it looks like we have a dichotomy of one society against another, (like in Xenoblade 1), but instead of 2 titans, there are multiple titans (like in Xenoblade 2), and the titans in question are 'potentially' wholly new (Xenoblade 3). The whole war/strife situation is a return to form to the situations of 1 and 2's plot, (A sort of cycle, reincarnation, like the theme of Xenoblade 3, Life). In any case, whether these "Iron Giant Gods" are new titans, or something like "Iron Bionis" (That black flute Noah plays at the start of the trailer has a design that looks an awful lot like a certain someone's wings), I guess we won't know for sure until we see the localization, either scenario is interesting imo (I think might like the idea you proposed of these being the new "titans" of this game a lil better tho). Anyway (for real this time haha), tbh, I feel like this game could go literally anywhere at this point, with each possibility being equally as great, man lol, everything is so thematically layered.

one thing i find interesting is that both trios seem to fit a particular subdivision of the five man band - Noah (leader), Lanz (lancer), Eunie (heart) and Mio (leader), Sena (big guy), Taion (smart guy)
I know it's a small detail, but i like the unspoken relationship between Mio and Noah we can already speculate on from a single scene, and not many so far has commented on it... The first time we see them play the flute together in the trailer, they are playing eachothers flute, and not their own! This seem to be the moment where they first come together out of respect and duty, showing some amount of consideration to the other side. And the scene seems to connect to the one where they don't have jackets on during the sunset, possibly swappig flutes again... It tells me that it's likely the point where they first get to talk about their duty, the world, their friends, themselves and even how to move forward without war, starting them on their journey together! I like this probably more than i should, since i did something similar with a friend when i lost my dad... We came together a few days after he died, and he asked me if i wanted to drink a toast to him, and i said that i would rather that we drank one for both our dads since i knew he also lost his dad some years ago, and we drank a toast by toasting eachothers dads, wishing them luck on their journey... I really hope it's something similar here, with it bringing them closer together in the end, while also learning more of the people they fight, not just as an enemy, but as people...

maybe the clock symbol only starts depleting once a person reaches 18 yo? also it might be possible to share your remaining time w other people. I doubt that every single person is military trained especially since its mentioned that not all colonies are battle ones. and if that's the case is there like a reservoir of sorts that holds the remaining time and distributes it to citizens? too many questions and not enough answers
Here's a thought. Watch the resonating with core crystals in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the flute playing in front of an audience in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I think there is a connection.
Spoilers for Xenoblade 2 Ending: Maybe it has more to do with life or genetic material spreading in the air. Since Core Crystal's absorbed the DNA of previous awekening and the awekening happening in the moment to build the blades, this could just be the soldiers life or... It could have something to do with their DNA floating towards Ouroboros or some kind of reincarnation so they will go back into war 18 years later. (I still want to think Ouroboros is an entity, but I know it's unlikely)

Interesting that for both Lanz and Eunie you suggested that someone close to them got hurt or died as the reason they are so devoted to their friends. What if instead of Noah being artificially created, he somehow died when they were young and his body was taken and experimented on. This could possibly explain Lanz's "I can't believe you're him" line as being him and Eunie meeting 18yo Noah for the first time and realizing who he is.

The point about Taion and weapon customisation, it's always possible they do a Tora with him where he keeps his weapon and just has expanded customisation both being the science-y types. Unlikely but they've done it before. Also theory I will plaster everywhere I go, but new Vandham and Uraya in the game. There's a very good possibility some form of Garfont village/mercenaries survived and we actually get an in universe reason for a similar van man of the same name as it's current leader. Could also nod to Rex too, as his successor of sorts.
@Emmanuel Brijandez Torres except the fact that post battle dialogue indicates that Rex isn't oblivious to Nia's feelings and his "I love you and all you guys" moment was his way of letting her down easy. The illusion of Nia that Klaus makes him face in the ending definitely confirms that he's aware and that it's something that weighs on his mind. If anything it's the opposite of what you stated. It clear Rex is only interested in Mythra/Pyra while Shulk is completely oblivious to Melia feelings (at no point does Shulk ever seem to acknowledge and even indicate that he's aware of Melia's feelings.)
Imma just say, if there’s romance, I’m fine as long it’s not a love triangle(though also no romance between Noah and Mio, I just think it be neat if they just become close friends).
There is also the fact that XC1 lifeforms are ether based and blades are Ether users, with the departure of the conduit Ether on former earth could have started to run out forcing blades to look for it in the ocean dimension and used Uraya as an Ark of sorts
I agree with the part about the characters not buying new weapons, but that got me thinking... Torna had different weapons because they had different elements. What if this means XC3 won't have element based weapons or even element based characters? Then we'd go back to XC1 style battle losing the whole orbs thing.
I expect an all-new battle system. XC1, XCX and XC2 all have completely different systems beyond surface elements, after all, and central elements of XC1 and 2's combat (visions and driver+blade respectively) don't seem to be making a comeback (what with presumably no Shulk in the party and Sena and to a lesser extent Mio being Blades without Drivers). I think it's more fun that way, too, learning an entirely new combat system by experimenting is more fun that just coming in and knowing the best way to play from the previous game.
@@masterplusmargarita I'm also betting on a new battle system too. I just meant the combat might look more like 1's than 2's combat. My bet is that we'll have every party member visible in battle. Since Monolith said they wanted to have more characters visible and Torna basically had 6, I think this game will let you have 8 or more party members visible in battle fighting independently of each other.
I disagree with your statement that the romances in the franchise are "kinda bad." Because the actual main romances are good imo and I really appreciate them. Especially nowadays where every other RPG has to now have a tacked on Player Choice Romance mechanic. I really wish more games would just stick to a set-in-stone canon romance and develop it through the story (looking at you, Trails of Cold Steel.) They honestly just don't need to do the love triangles.
I think the sky area is in some way related to or a reference to Solaris from xenogears. A land in the sky that finds both sides of the war to control the “lambs” down below on the surface. Sounds like the concept from xenogears could return in 3

Just complete speculation at this stage but if we take the description of Eunie having a large sense of responsibility for her friends as her having lost someone dear to her in the past as mentioned in the video, and Taion’s weapon really houses some kind of spirit, I think it would be very interesting if Eunie’s lost friend and his weapon’s shikigami are one in the same. It would explain why he sees it as more of a pet while still fitting the description of the weapon and could make some very interesting character moments for these two!
I'm kinda hoping that Taion turns out to be the first real character focused completely on buffs and debuffs in the XC series... Sharla did both buffs and healing, while Riki did debuffs and basicly everything else too, and XC2 didn't really focus on buffs and debuffs directly, so i would like a character who is the ONLY one to get the more powerful buffs and debuffs, and where the player should focus on making those buffs and debuffs better, instead of making him do more damage. It would fit his character really well too, as making your allies better and enemies worse in battle is perfect for a tactical mind, while also keeping his aggro down since he is squishy and doesn't do a lot of damage... Eunie would also work well as the offensive arts nuke and healer, basicly being both a black and white mage at once, with the best healing and offensive arts in the game, but with no real physical skills or buffs.

I would argue the romance in xc2 was actually pretty well done, but the third wheel trope is getting old now so I hope they at least don't do that and if they are going to do romance, make it solely just noah/eunie or noah/mio
I wouldn't put too much stock into cutscenes, when trying to determine their role lol. In any case, don't forget Klauss, changed the way the blades worked at the end of XB2. They no longer served the purpose of gathering evolutionary DNA, and experience.

Compare both the Nopon part in the trailer and the new screenshot from Monolith's twitter. You can see that the trailer is a old build. The newer image is more shaded and has visible trees in the background of it. Just thought it was interesting given the rumours that the game was delayed and those rumours definitely have merit now. Also yeah Eunie really does sound like she is the Shion on the group. For some reason, I can see them eventually revealing the names of "Not Nia" and "Not Mellia", but them being something completely different, but recognizable. Like maybe Torna and Entia or something, then in game reveal its more of a title or something before finally admitting that yes, it is Nia and Mellia.
The more details we hear about XC3 the more I'm convinced it's connected to XCX. On Mira people are kept alive for some unknown reason and that reason could be discovered in XC3 to keep people from dying because of the clocks.
so what if the Gunrod is cause as a less pure Hugh Entie, she lost the ability to manipulate Eather as freely as Melia could, I mean, to say lets say she can Summon Elementals, but cannot launch them, thus the Gun Part, she can Load them for attack and this is what I can imagine, first, there wont be a different art to summon them, but lets say a Talent Art that can rotate among elements (not all aviable I would say, to lessen the clutter) and then you can use Arts to aunch them, and depending on the Element used the effect changes, for example, lets say you Summon a Water, and lets say is also regen, and if you use it in a heal itll be a huge one, but if you use it in an attack, it would do a Poison Effect, something like that, basically a Reverse of Melia gamestyle heavily reliant on Summons, but more Sharla like Arts
Maybe each of the trios will have a someone they'll pair up with and help? Noah has Mio, Lanz has Sena, and Eunie has Taion. Other things: Shadiversity predicted Lanz's weapon, honestly I wanted Sena was an agility tank just to be different. Also Sena should have abs, at least.

A small part of me still hopes to see X become tied to the Chronicles games. Mira itself was a weird planet and the game never explored the vibes the planet itself gave off.
As far as I'm concerned we have all the info we need before release, with the release not being all to far off I really don't see the need for any major reveals going forward.
I am almost certain that Sena is NOT the reason Mio is 19. Recall the "all that time you've got" line. I'm standing by my supposition that something "kills" people when they get too old (not Vandham being an intentional exception) and they need to replenish their own "time" with the life force of others. Mio likely refused to do so, or has been at it longer, where she just... aged more than everyone else and is getting close to that "killer thing". Wrt "not Vandham" I believe he is the original leader of the Ouroboros. He found out how to break the cycle of death and as a result ages fairly naturally. He will be the unifying point for our protagonists, and like all other Xeno games will die/disappear early in the story.
I don't worry too much because Xenoblade X has a big timer thingy and always reminds you how time is of the essence but you never have to actually do it fast.

Mio will most likely not be locked to a tank, each character's role will most likely be customizable. And Mio wouldn't be the first tank, because Tora certainly was a tank, and he was an absolutely fantastic one, outperforming any other character in that regard.

This definitely supports the fact that
"Giant God" in "Iron Giant God" could simply
just mean "Titan" in general in this
context, as in the new titans of this
xenoblade game, instead of "Iron Giant God"
= "Iron Bionis". This is further supported
by the fact that Agnus uses these giant
mechs as well, who are more Xenoblade 2
leaning in terms of aesthetic.
What made me think otherwise in my comment
that "Iron Giant God" = "Iron Bionis" was
that these "Iron Giant Gods" are also called
"Colonies", which seemed coincidental.
Seemingly, overall, it looks like we have a
dichotomy of one society against another,
(like in Xenoblade 1), but instead of 2
titans, there are multiple titans (like in
Xenoblade 2), and the titans in question are
'potentially' wholly new (Xenoblade 3).
The whole war/strife situation is a return
to form to the situations of 1 and 2's plot,
(A sort of cycle, reincarnation, like the
theme of Xenoblade 3, Life).
In any case, whether these "Iron Giant Gods" are new titans, or something like "Iron Bionis" (That black flute Noah plays at the start of the trailer has a design that looks an awful lot like a certain someone's wings), I guess we won't know for sure until we see the localization, either scenario is interesting imo (I think might like the idea you proposed of these being the new "titans" of this game a lil better tho).
Anyway (for real this time haha), tbh, I feel like this game could go literally anywhere at this point, with each possibility being equally as great, man lol, everything is so thematically layered.

one thing i find interesting is that both trios seem to fit a particular subdivision of the five man band - Noah (leader), Lanz (lancer), Eunie (heart) and Mio (leader), Sena (big guy), Taion (smart guy)

I do like the modernized X-esque style clothing in the official art. These new characters look FRESH
I know it's a small detail, but i like the unspoken relationship between Mio and Noah we can already speculate on from a single scene, and not many so far has commented on it...
The first time we see them play the flute together in the trailer, they are playing eachothers flute, and not their own! This seem to be the moment where they first come together out of respect and duty, showing some amount of consideration to the other side. And the scene seems to connect to the one where they don't have jackets on during the sunset, possibly swappig flutes again...
It tells me that it's likely the point where they first get to talk about their duty, the world, their friends, themselves and even how to move forward without war, starting them on their journey together!
I like this probably more than i should, since i did something similar with a friend when i lost my dad... We came together a few days after he died, and he asked me if i wanted to drink a toast to him, and i said that i would rather that we drank one for both our dads since i knew he also lost his dad some years ago, and we drank a toast by toasting eachothers dads, wishing them luck on their journey...
I really hope it's something similar here, with it bringing them closer together in the end, while also learning more of the people they fight, not just as an enemy, but as people...

maybe the clock symbol only starts depleting once a person reaches 18 yo? also it might be possible to share your remaining time w other people. I doubt that every single person is military trained especially since its mentioned that not all colonies are battle ones. and if that's the case is there like a reservoir of sorts that holds the remaining time and distributes it to citizens? too many questions and not enough answers

Here's a thought. Watch the resonating with core crystals in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the flute playing in front of an audience in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I think there is a connection.
Spoilers for Xenoblade 2 Ending:
Maybe it has more to do with life or genetic material spreading in the air. Since Core Crystal's absorbed the DNA of previous awekening and the awekening happening in the moment to build the blades, this could just be the soldiers life or... It could have something to do with their DNA floating towards Ouroboros or some kind of reincarnation so they will go back into war 18 years later. (I still want to think Ouroboros is an entity, but I know it's unlikely)

@@joshduehr2898 I don't know. These new informations could suggest that some entity(like Ouroboros) changed the races of Alrest and Bionis so everyone ages the same. So blades would be independent, but it might mean Blades are born just like humans now.
A lot of the cutscene deaths in Xeno 2 had those particles in the air. Jin and Lora in particular.

Interesting that for both Lanz and Eunie you suggested that someone close to them got hurt or died as the reason they are so devoted to their friends. What if instead of Noah being artificially created, he somehow died when they were young and his body was taken and experimented on. This could possibly explain Lanz's "I can't believe you're him" line as being him and Eunie meeting 18yo Noah for the first time and realizing who he is.

The point about Taion and weapon customisation, it's always possible they do a Tora with him where he keeps his weapon and just has expanded customisation both being the science-y types. Unlikely but they've done it before. Also theory I will plaster everywhere I go, but new Vandham and Uraya in the game. There's a very good possibility some form of Garfont village/mercenaries survived and we actually get an in universe reason for a similar van man of the same name as it's current leader. Could also nod to Rex too, as his successor of sorts.

The illusion of Nia that Klaus makes him face in the ending definitely confirms that he's aware and that it's something that weighs on his mind.
If anything it's the opposite of what you stated. It clear Rex is only interested in Mythra/Pyra while Shulk is completely oblivious to Melia feelings (at no point does Shulk ever seem to acknowledge and even indicate that he's aware of Melia's feelings.)
Imma just say, if there’s romance, I’m fine as long it’s not a love triangle(though also no romance between Noah and Mio, I just think it be neat if they just become close friends).
There is also the fact that XC1 lifeforms are ether based and blades are Ether users, with the departure of the conduit Ether on former earth could have started to run out forcing blades to look for it in the ocean dimension and used Uraya as an Ark of sorts

I agree with the part about the characters not buying new weapons, but that got me thinking... Torna had different weapons because they had different elements. What if this means XC3 won't have element based weapons or even element based characters? Then we'd go back to XC1 style battle losing the whole orbs thing.

I expect an all-new battle system. XC1, XCX and XC2 all have completely different systems beyond surface elements, after all, and central elements of XC1 and 2's combat (visions and driver+blade respectively) don't seem to be making a comeback (what with presumably no Shulk in the party and Sena and to a lesser extent Mio being Blades without Drivers). I think it's more fun that way, too, learning an entirely new combat system by experimenting is more fun that just coming in and knowing the best way to play from the previous game.
@@masterplusmargarita I'm also betting on a new battle system too. I just meant the combat might look more like 1's than 2's combat. My bet is that we'll have every party member visible in battle. Since Monolith said they wanted to have more characters visible and Torna basically had 6, I think this game will let you have 8 or more party members visible in battle fighting independently of each other.

I disagree with your statement that the romances in the franchise are "kinda bad." Because the actual main romances are good imo and I really appreciate them. Especially nowadays where every other RPG has to now have a tacked on Player Choice Romance mechanic. I really wish more games would just stick to a set-in-stone canon romance and develop it through the story (looking at you, Trails of Cold Steel.)

I think the sky area is in some way related to or a reference to Solaris from xenogears. A land in the sky that finds both sides of the war to control the “lambs” down below on the surface. Sounds like the concept from xenogears could return in 3

Just complete speculation at this stage but if we take the description of Eunie having a large sense of responsibility for her friends as her having lost someone dear to her in the past as mentioned in the video, and Taion’s weapon really houses some kind of spirit, I think it would be very interesting if Eunie’s lost friend and his weapon’s shikigami are one in the same. It would explain why he sees it as more of a pet while still fitting the description of the weapon and could make some very interesting character moments for these two!
I'm kinda hoping that Taion turns out to be the first real character focused completely on buffs and debuffs in the XC series... Sharla did both buffs and healing, while Riki did debuffs and basicly everything else too, and XC2 didn't really focus on buffs and debuffs directly, so i would like a character who is the ONLY one to get the more powerful buffs and debuffs, and where the player should focus on making those buffs and debuffs better, instead of making him do more damage.
It would fit his character really well too, as making your allies better and enemies worse in battle is perfect for a tactical mind, while also keeping his aggro down since he is squishy and doesn't do a lot of damage...
Eunie would also work well as the offensive arts nuke and healer, basicly being both a black and white mage at once, with the best healing and offensive arts in the game, but with no real physical skills or buffs.
The Psycorrupter in X is pretty much that, the knife being the buff weapon and the raygun being debuffs.

Even something as simple as Kirby is having a lot of its information only done on the JP Kirby twitter account, and over at Bamco a lot of the Tales of Arise info would be covered by Japan and not even mentioned in english sources until a month or two later. It's also kinda common for news to be revealed through third parties in Japan, even before the related social media pages tweet out the news or the official sites for the game update

I would argue the romance in xc2 was actually pretty well done, but the third wheel trope is getting old now so I hope they at least don't do that and if they are going to do romance, make it solely just noah/eunie or noah/mio
I wouldn't put too much stock into cutscenes, when trying to determine their role lol. In any case, don't forget Klauss, changed the way the blades worked at the end of XB2. They no longer served the purpose of gathering evolutionary DNA, and experience.

Compare both the Nopon part in the trailer and the new screenshot from Monolith's twitter. You can see that the trailer is a old build. The newer image is more shaded and has visible trees in the background of it. Just thought it was interesting given the rumours that the game was delayed and those rumours definitely have merit now. Also yeah Eunie really does sound like she is the Shion on the group. For some reason, I can see them eventually revealing the names of "Not Nia" and "Not Mellia", but them being something completely different, but recognizable. Like maybe Torna and Entia or something, then in game reveal its more of a title or something before finally admitting that yes, it is Nia and Mellia.
The more details we hear about XC3 the more I'm convinced it's connected to XCX. On Mira people are kept alive for some unknown reason and that reason could be discovered in XC3 to keep people from dying because of the clocks.

so what if the Gunrod is cause as a less pure Hugh Entie, she lost the ability to manipulate Eather as freely as Melia could, I mean, to say lets say she can Summon Elementals, but cannot launch them, thus the Gun Part, she can Load them for attack
and this is what I can imagine, first, there wont be a different art to summon them, but lets say a Talent Art that can rotate among elements (not all aviable I would say, to lessen the clutter) and then you can use Arts to aunch them, and depending on the Element used the effect changes, for example, lets say you Summon a Water, and lets say is also regen, and if you use it in a heal itll be a huge one, but if you use it in an attack, it would do a Poison Effect, something like that, basically a Reverse of Melia gamestyle heavily reliant on Summons, but more Sharla like Arts

A small part of me still hopes to see X become tied to the Chronicles games. Mira itself was a weird planet and the game never explored the vibes the planet itself gave off.

I'm standing by my supposition that something "kills" people when they get too old (not Vandham being an intentional exception) and they need to replenish their own "time" with the life force of others. Mio likely refused to do so, or has been at it longer, where she just... aged more than everyone else and is getting close to that "killer thing".
Wrt "not Vandham" I believe he is the original leader of the Ouroboros. He found out how to break the cycle of death and as a result ages fairly naturally. He will be the unifying point for our protagonists, and like all other Xeno games will die/disappear early in the story.
