I have a 'pending' folder at the top of my email folder list, which holds the emails I need to act on or get a reply to. So the actual inbox is always empty. ✅The rest of my emails gets put pretty immediately into folders that I clean up regularly. For my business, I put all the files into year folders. So at the end of their archiving life, I can just trash the whole year. I unsubscribed from my cloud service about a year ago and now just use Time Machine to make backups of my MacBook constellation on an external harddrive. Then I also back up important files separately in a folder on this hard drive. There is so much duplicate, outdated, unnecessary data stored in the cloud. That uses an enormous amount of energy. So be sure to declutter those files regularly if you do use cloud storage. 💚
You are the real MVP for putting this together !! I am a “learn by doing” so step by step formats are my FAVE!! And this is one of my goals for 2023. Aka this is exactly what I needed
What a fantastic video! So helpful. I already try to do some of these tasks but you've given me some new ideas. Thanks! Keep your great videos coming x
Haha good analogy with the documents folder being like a library! I keep everything in documents, including non documents. It’s a good dumping ground for everything, thanks for the idea of getting that in order 😊
Thanks for all of the info. I find computers and phones to be overwhelming. I'm not good with either as far as knowledge. I have a Mac laptop which I know nothing about (always had a pc). I have an android phone. I hate things changing all the time too as I can't keep up. I'm in my 50's so grew up with an electric typewriter and had only 1 computer class back in high school. College wasn't any better. Lol. All of my jobs in offices always had their own computer systems so the basics like you've shown isn't taught. Lol I appreciate all of your hard work, Ashlynne. I saved this video along with the download. Ty!
Thank you so much for this video! I’m definitely going to download that PDF! I’m in this process right now & I’m just overwhelmed. I’m in the process of doing a setup on my new computer but I’ve used a Time Machine backup to set it up & I have sooo much stuff that I haven’t organised as well as photos on my phone & a lot of emails etc etc. Everything is kind of a mess tbh & I feel a bit defeated even before I’ve gotten into it properly.
Hi Ashlynne good morning happy Thursday morning and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
How do you go about naming your actual photos? My iPhone doesn’t label them img_1, 2, 3, etc. it labels them with random ass names and so I can’t sort by name / chronological order anymore 😩
Oooh that’s a great question. With iPhone photos I don’t tend to rename them all, but I am intentional about organizing them in to folders by month/year and location/event. I find that helps a lot!
Very interesting and useful content and tips. By the by, you had suggested Clean my Mac for cleaning up Mac laptop. Can you suggest a similar one for non-mac laptop please? ( I use a HP ) - Thanks in anticipation
