- Winnie the Pooh is getting a new animated series and movies at Amazon Prime Video, but there's a problem: a ton of artificial intelligence is being used to create the show. While this new incarnation of Winnie the Pooh feels like a better direction than Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, it's an insult to the art of animation when too much AI is used during the creative process.

It's not just the entertainment industry. Many workers everywhere else are being put out of the job by AI, as well.
It’s a shame that the first glimpse we got of a non-Disney Winnie-the-Pooh project that isn’t a horror project had to be a cheap cartoon that uses AI to heavily cut corners and give as little money to artists as possible.
There is a prequel animated movie and series that’s coming from some DreamWorks veterans under Baboon Animation, so I hope those ones are good.

“Oh, bother!” said Winnie the Pooh after his original book went into the public domain, only for infamous Pooh media after 2022 to be released.
Winnie the Pooh is becoming PD in Croatia and Australia in 2027, and us young people are going to celebrate wildly. But at the same time, we also feel rather ashamed of the rise of more crappy Winnie the Pooh versions available.

@@Kingmationproductionz They are making full of animation replacement ai, and unless it gets stopped now, any regulations will be discarded by NDAs by the few that prompted it for big studios. I think it is naive that they won't full on replace animators instead of just tweeners.
I hate almost everything about A.I art. The lighting, the Distorted Nightmarish images, the soullessness, and the misspelling. The Future of A.I doesn't look too bright, and I don't think A.I Can take over Humans.

Even I think blood and honey, while still pretty bad, isn’t as much of an extreme bastardisation of Winnie the Pooh stories as the better received first Tarzan the apeman (1932) film. Watch out for that seminal jungle movie; it deviates a bit too much from its canonical book sources, even though it’s not made with ai images!
I’m gonna make a presentation. No one’s going to watch it, the people who do are going give it horrible reviews, it’s gonna be cancelled after a few episodes, and we’re all going to forget it ever existed, until people make video essays on it.

I learned that Andy Heyward was once the CEO of DIC Entertainment, the company behind Inspector Gadget and other amazingly nostalgic shows. What a sad downgrade.
Keep in mind that Dic Entertainment was also as infamous as Cinar in terms of labour mistreatment and tax evasions.

When I heard the name Andy Heyward, the creator of Inspector Gadget, was behind this Pooh A.I. nightmare. I remembered that he was somewhat behind what Disney did to Gadget with that live action nightmare of a movie. I would love to see a big screen animated Inspector Gadget movie with the remaining voice cast from the show doing some characters, but Frank Welker has to be Dr. Claw again.
Making animated movies with AI is not creative and it's not art either. 😑

Now I’ve been having this idea for a Pooh webtoon that I’ve only done sketches for so far, starting just late last year. I remember going to all the different nature preserves and parks in my hometown, and in some of the towns surrounding it. Growing up, my folks and I would all go when we could, or when we felt like it, to hike, picnic, or just unwind in general. I still do this today, but it’s more on my own now. Anyway, as a kid who loved Winnie-the-Pooh as a kid, and grew to appreciate the original Milne books more and more as I grew up, I would wonder while at one of these beautiful places I’d go to, “What if those stories took place RIGHT HERE, instead of all the way overseas in the UK?”
My idea for potentially reimagining of the franchise is based on that very idea, taking place in a forest somewhere in 1920’s (or 1930’s!) America, with new takes on the characters that are inspired by the original books, but with some twists. It would mostly take on a comedic tone. And no, I would never use AI to make the animation or character designs happen (I can do that myself, thank you).
I would probably do something similar, but it would be a Live Action with animatronic puppets, in the best Muppets style. I think it would be good!

A.I is only good for helping me write difficult scenes in my novels. I don’t use the exact wording. It’s too dry. Instead, I use it as a base and build on it. By the time I’m done, it’s entirely my writing.

I like the texture on Pooh and the hand made esque environments. I feel like someone wanted to do a Winnie the Pooh version of Yoshi’s Wooly World. But some corporate higher ups said to make it AI generated which is a shame because it’s clearly impacting the visuals with whatever that… thing was.

As much as I hate AI, I did look at some of the other character models for the show on their Instagram account and they surprisingly don’t look that very AI ish. So hopefully they’re just using some AI and are going to go with traditional CG animation.

NGL I don’t think public domain should be a thing anymore like it terrifies me as a creator to think after I die someone can just find my books, my art work, ect. and bastardize it once I’m in the grave!😅
Public domain should only be the things that we do not know who the true original creator is; take for example cinderella, nobody knows who created the first version of that fairytale we have brothers Grimm but they were NOT the first one to write it there were other version spoken orally throughout history as European folklore!
Anything else were you know 100% who made it and what they wanted from it should be able to opt out of becoming public domain & be able to be like *no this is my story I don’t want anyone else touching it ever even long after I die!*

I’m sure that picture wasn’t really the full thing for the cartoon. Pooh was posing so maybe this is an early stages of development and they’re just putting him in CG backdrop but that one character was definitely AI.
