I'm "cruising" through some of your older videos. Years ago my sister and I camped at Buenos's and there was a parrot that kept following us around, I'm sure he was someone's pet that had escaped. And there were lots of Border Patrol for sure.
That must have been an odd sight watching a parrot fly around, that's probably more rare than the freak snow we got. 😀 Speaking of rare, we just got to see a wild condor fly around us at Marble Canyon! It was amazing!! Largest wingspan on a bird that I have ever seen before.

Just found the High Rock Point video from the Upper Peninsula and wanted to let you know I admire your total fearlessness taking on those huge water holes. Very confidence inspiring. I’m putting a winch on my Promaster anyway just in case. I hate water holes in the road.
Hi Mike! A winch on the front will be awesome! We are hoping to do the same at some point. We have gotten a lot of use out of our traction boards lately. I love the challenge of getting unstuck. 😂 We did walk those mud holes just to make sure they had a solid bottom. 😎
Hi Regina! We are camping on the gulf coast now in Texas and it's as cold as Idaho here. 😂 It's a bit crazy right now when it comes to finding gas, food, and water.
Darn! You guys timed it just right to see the local fauna on the reserve, and then you got hit with muddy roads. On the other hand, now I know my escaper buddies and Promaster FWD are a good combo!
I cringe when you through the ball and on your next click you show a nasty cactus. I fear for Roddle. But I also know how much you take care of him. Thanks for showing us a rainy day in van life. I love it.
Wow! Unbelievable there was snow there. We decided to wait ANOTHER day before heading there to avoid the subzero temps on our way thru Kansas. Sheez! Thanks for all the helpful info!
Yeah, I got stuck a few weeks ago in AZ. After three resets, 2.5 hours, in a wash with pending storm and 20 feet from hard surface, I called a tow. Well worth the price. Lots of video shot but haven't edited anything yet.
That's Roodle! 😂 Today it was 4 degrees with snow on the ground and all he wants to do is play in the snow. We are taking turns taking him out to play ball. 😀🥶☃️❄️
Amazing. Thank you so much for taking us along. Just wondering how you plan your travels? I really like the type of camping you guys do. I'm relatively new to the channel and I'm loving it. Thank you so much for sharing.
We try not to plan to much but do keep an eye on the weather and move accordingly. Right now we have a few states in the East that we have not been to so hope to hit those up this year. Sometimes we go to states just to meet friends and family. We don't want to get caught in crazy hot weather so we plan extra to miss the heat. This year we are thinking about going to Colorado (high in elevation) to escape those temperatures during the summer. We have big plans to go to Alaska and Baja someday. 😎
That sounds awesome. Can't wait to see those videos and pictures. As far as avoiding the heat, I think the snow is trying to help you out. Lol. Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow I definitely need those trac things. Lol but I’ve no real travel plans for the next few months. Going to wait until the virus is more contained. I’m anxious to check out your Etsy store. Happy and safe travels always 🚐🐕❤️
We recommend a set of traction boards for, sand, gravel, mud, and snow. The first time we used them we saved 5 times over on the cost of a tow. Not a bad Idea to wait for things to calm down, some states have travel bans and special quarantine requirements. Carrie is so excited about her photos on Etsy! Thank you for your kindness, stay warm. 😀😀

Nice job getting out. What tires do you have on your Promaster? From a Promaster 136 driver. Also, thanks for the info on disbursed camping in the area, heading that way in a week. "The Brown 136"
Hi Dougal. We are running Open Range all-terrain tires on the front and Falken Wild Peak at3 on the rear. They are both good but I like the Falkens best for the price.
Take a look at the video I linked up below. Very interesting as to what happened to him. I watched his channel for a while. He makes very good recipes but he got hacked. Be careful. Take care 💕💕
Great video, great editing 👍 And always a good story to the video. So question for the day is if you still had your jeep and your van was capable of towing it would it be worth the effort to have it with you 🤔
Yes, for sure, and definitely! 😂😂 We were just in Big Bend National Park and they have many 4 wheel drive routes with primitive campsites next to the Rio Grande river. We both were missing our Jeep. This is just one of many examples. Take your Jeep with you! 😂
@@oneadVANtureatatime thanks, that's a 3 thumbs up answer. I think I want to go more toward overlanding than rock crawling in the future. Fixing destroyed drive trains is not as much fun as it use to be. I'm thinking park the van in a safe place and take the jeep on trips that last a day or two.
Hi , It’s all music found in the UA-cam Library for Creators : Casablanca Caravan by Chris Haugen, Mind Stream by Chris Haugen, Cold Blue by Astron, and Highway one by Steve Adams.
@@oneadVANtureatatime thanks. I’m trying to figure out this whole boondocking thing. If I’d have come across a closed gate, I’d have been reluctant to open it. Thanks for your videos and the coordinates, I’m learning a lot!
We are happy to help. Sometimes BLM public land uses gates as well for open range cattle. If we know we are on this land, there is usually a sign on the gate that says keep gate closed. Most people don't know this. 😎
@@jimgbf we use a app called Kittyhawk and Dave pulls up air nautical charts to look at! Although flying areas are more restrictive I feel like we have a better sense of where we can fly and better tools help us fly responsibly because Dave has his drone pilots license😃 And sometimes you get that feeling I don’t think you can fly here.... apps have been wrong and we double check flying locations with air nautical maps. Very technical answer I hope that helps. Feel free to ask more questions if needed.
Looks great. Beautiful views. Y’all are funny with your stuck videos 😂 those traction boards are a real lifesaver. I’ve been looking at Ujointoffroad on UA-cam because they make a Ford E350/450 into a 4wd van. Y’all make me think I will need it. Never mind I want it 😊. Great video, stay safe ✌🏼
I know right! We wanted to do a high clearance 4 wheel drive route in Big Bend National Park but could not go the whole way. 😢 If we would have had the money we would have went that way also.
Had no idea it could rain that much in the desert, not to mention the snow. Great video! Very pretty. Honestly though...... I hope to not see so much as a single flake of snow in Arizona.
Hi there. About the rig leveling at 9:25, it was raining pretty heavily so we decided to put one side of our rig, “Satch” the Bigfoot camper, on leveling blocks to allow the rain to drain on one side. It looks a little more dramatic on the footage because of the GoPro lens, but it was just a little tip 😊 Caroline

Nice! The snow has now followed us into southern Texas. 😂
@@oneadVANtureatatime I hope you have a folding shovel too!
Love your story as always 👍
I live in Wisconsin and this year's weather I have to say has been strange for places that don't get snow.. all the way to the gulf of mexico..
Hi Regina! We are camping on the gulf coast now in Texas and it's as cold as Idaho here. 😂 It's a bit crazy right now when it comes to finding gas, food, and water.
Traction boards for the win!
Yes! These traction boards have paid for themselves 10 times over already. 😀
Darn! You guys timed it just right to see the local fauna on the reserve, and then you got hit with muddy roads. On the other hand, now I know my escaper buddies and Promaster FWD are a good combo!
Those traction boards paid off again 😀😀 We did miss out on the Cactus 🌵 blooming. We just can't candle the heat when they do bloom. 😂
Your dog and his ball! So funny, every time, that single-track-minded determination to make you throw it.
We eventually have to take the ball away so he will drink water and eat his food. 😂
Well, it certainly is one adVanture at a time for you guys.
Thank you, Roger. I am one of few people that actually think getting stuck is a fun challenge 😂
I cringe when you through the ball and on your next click you show a nasty cactus. I fear for Roddle. But I also know how much you take care of him.
Thanks for showing us a rainy day in van life. I love it.
The first year Roodle stepped on every cactus! 😂This year he has not stepped on one yet, we are very proud of him. 😀
I might add he was wearing his shoes the first two years because he couldn’t be trusted to not step on cactus. So no cactus in his feet!
We're getting that snow today!
Nice! The snow has now followed us into southern Texas! 😂
Wow! Unbelievable there was snow there. We decided to wait ANOTHER day before heading there to avoid the subzero temps on our way thru Kansas. Sheez! Thanks for all the helpful info!
Hi Babs, today we are in southern Texas. This morning it was 4 degrees with more snow on the ground. Hope you are staying in warm😀
Yeah, I got stuck a few weeks ago in AZ. After three resets, 2.5 hours, in a wash with pending storm and 20 feet from hard surface, I called a tow. Well worth the price. Lots of video shot but haven't edited anything yet.
Dang Ron! We are happy to hear you got out ok! I can't wait to see the video 😂 I don't blame you for calling a tow, those washes can fill up quick.
Hi guys! What an amazing spot! Thanks for sharing! I’ve added it to my list 🙏🏽❤️ One day...
Awesome! It's pretty cool when they set up a place to free camp on a wildlife refuge 😀
@@oneadVANtureatatime 🙌🏽🙌🏽😄
Ok. I could hear all of us talking for roodle. "I do want to go outside. I don't care if it is snowing and windy. I want to go outside".
That's Roodle! 😂 Today it was 4 degrees with snow on the ground and all he wants to do is play in the snow. We are taking turns taking him out to play ball. 😀🥶☃️❄️
That’s the area I’m from. The Coronado National Forest, is full of beautiful wonders.
Nice, Sally! Very cool they have campsites for free in a wildlife refuge! We enjoyed this part of Az that we have never heard of before. 😎
Lol you saw so much while we were inside hiding 😂😂
The snow has followed us to Texas now. It was 4 degrees this morning! Please tell me this is not normal, never mind the 3 inches of snow. 😂😂
Stunning to see the desert with snow! WOW!
The snow had followed us from Montana to Texas now. 😂
@@oneadVANtureatatime I sure hope you're keeping warm, and the batteries are holding up.
“...and 40 coyotes!” Yep, you can surely run into them down there, be they two or four legged. You ran into our “week of winter” here in Az.
Nice Jim! We timed it out perfectly then. 😎 Even Carrie likes snow but does not openly admit it. 😂😂
we got 8" out of that storm in NW Arizona
We got that also in Kingman,Az
Nice
Sweet getaway ,sure would bring the stress levels way down
The less we watch the news and the more we focus on our surroundings the more calm I feel. 😀
Dave, I imagine you know what 50 mph wind feels like (aye aye sir)
I do! We once went out to sea in a hurricane! I loved every minute of it. 😂😂
@@oneadVANtureatatime I can just see you on deck leaning forward 30 degrees into the wind, when you look at the camera and say, “And the best part is that it’s FREE!”
🤣
Roodle needs Glo sticks on his collar at night! Crazy weather everywhere!!
Glow sticks on Roodles collar are great idea! Lately he has been wanting in the van at dark...maybe it’s the cold 🥶
I don't own any traction boards, but what I won't leave home without is a four wheel drive vehicle.
I hear you! We miss our Jeep badly sometimes.
We are in N Idaho. You are getting the snow we should get. lol
It is following us! 😂 It was 4 degrees this morning. Stay warm up there.🥶
It snowed in Texas the last week in January. We got 6 inches but it was so dry it won't pack!
Hi Kathy and Steve! We are in southern Texas now. We got about 3 inches of snow and it was 4 degrees this morning 😂😂 Tell me this isn't normal please. 🥶❄️🥶☃️
@@oneadVANtureatatime We are in Whitney TX and today it is normal! This winter has been the strangest year in history!
come to Texas it just snowed ,so itll be another hundred years before it happens again.
+Master Hughes yeah... we are here now. We were in big bend national park when the arctic blast pushed all the way into Texas! I hope it warms up soon! I feel bad for all power outages, frozen pipes, boil water notices and gas shortages .... ect!
The tool that you are using to repair the road at the end of your video looks like something I should own for many uses. what is it? where did you get it? Thank you
All the flora was doing a happy dance and storing it away for many months to come! Great shots!
So True Pamela! The desert has been looking extra healthy this year. 😀
I’m so happy to have come across your channel. I’ve been binge watching for the past several days as your adventures are jam pack full of wonderful content, skilled photography, beautiful picturesque off the beaten path gems and necessary info to make one’s trip truly eventful. I also enjoy both of yours friendly and calm demeanor along with your adorable Roodle and his little jingle. 🎶 I’ve yet to financially support anyone’s channel; however, I’m seriously considering yours. My major concern is someone hacking UA-cam putting my personal info at risk. Could you or a current patron share the safety protocol for monthly contributions? 🤷🏻♀️
Hi Linda! We are honored you like our channel and thank you for all the wonderful words. We love this lifestyle and enjoy sharing the nature we find along the way.
A patron account is separate from UA-cam and we have had no security complaints so far. Carrie will try to give you more information as she has time😃 We hope you never feel pressured to give us support as you watching our videos is support enough. Thank you for all of your kindness.😃
Thank you Maggie we appreciate the help. 😀
TRACTION BOARDS, ANOTHER DEVICE I'LL NEED TO CARRY IN MY GEAR. AND YOU SHOULD'VE TOOK THEM WITH YOU ON THE DAY TRIP
+peewee h our traction boards are ALWAYS with us! They are worth every penny and then some!
I remember watching that yellow rig being built.
Cool Bert! Shane can build anything I think. 😂
Loved the video. From Florida👍👍✌️
Thank you! Florida is sounding good, we woke up this morning to 4 degrees and more snow. We are currently in southern Texas. 😂
Good on you for leaving your site better than you found it. Also, smoothing out those tire ruts was not glamorous but I’m glad you showed it. 👍
Thank you, Tom! We don't mind picking up trash to keep these free camp spots free. 😀
Great video, great editing 👍
And always a good story to the video.
This was awesome!
Thank you! This is a bit odd but for some reason I enjoy the challenge of getting unstuck 😂
Thanks for sharing. Very like this video and music in it. What’s the name of this music?
Hi , It’s all music found in the UA-cam Library for Creators : Casablanca Caravan by Chris Haugen, Mind Stream by Chris Haugen, Cold Blue by Astron, and Highway one by Steve Adams.
@@oneadVANtureatatime thank you
You guys really do a great job with your videos. -29 here in Minnesota this morning so I would love some warmth.
-29?! Now that's cold. We woke up today to 4 degrees and snow..which seems a bit odd for southern Texas. 😂
Fantastic views!
May I ask, how did you know it was OK to open that gate?
+Paul G Walmsley we had a map and there are two designated campgrounds on this road.
🏆
The clouds in the sky are so pretty. Can't say I'd like to be on those muddy roads
We have caught some amazing sunsets lately! We are both cloud watchers. 😂
Do y'all find that drone flying is becoming more & more restrictive?
Yes! The farther east we go the harder it is to get into the air as well. Plus every software update is new areas that are closed.
@@oneadVANtureatatime How do you stay so keenly aware of the specific restrictions?
@@jimgbf we use a app called Kittyhawk and Dave pulls up air nautical charts to look at! Although flying areas are more restrictive I feel like we have a better sense of where we can fly and better tools help us fly responsibly because Dave has his drone pilots license😃
And sometimes you get that feeling I don’t think you can fly here.... apps have been wrong and we double check flying locations with air nautical maps.
Very technical answer I hope that helps. Feel free to ask more questions if needed.
1 #LiveYourPassion Luv the interesting places you travel !! So informative !!!! ❤️ 🌞🚐🇺🇸 #FindYourFreedom 🐾 Happy Dog Roodle !!
Thank you! ❤️ 😎
81° in FL.
81 sounds pretty nice right now😂 It was 4 degrees this morning. The snow has followed us into Texas now. 😂😂
@@oneadVANtureatatime How far south are you coming? In two weeks I am headed north.
We are headed to the gulf coast, New Orleans and into southern Mississippi before we head north.
What's your secret to keeping the red soil and mud from entering your van? Also, what's up with that RV leveling at 9:25? Great video as always.
My guess: Solar panel orientation or to shed rain and snow.
Hi there. About the rig leveling at 9:25, it was raining pretty heavily so we decided to put one side of our rig, “Satch” the Bigfoot camper, on leveling blocks to allow the rain to drain on one side. It looks a little more dramatic on the footage because of the GoPro lens, but it was just a little tip 😊
Caroline
@@WonderousLyfe Made sense. Thanks for the explanation. I thought maybe the soil was softer on one side and the rain washed it away ha ha,
Hi , this is my first comment my name is Zeni , my husband and I really enjoy your videos and all the great info you guys share . I'm excited to know that you are so close to us , we leave in Tucson and it would be really great to meet you guys and your dog wich I don't know how to pronounce his name we don't have dogs we have 9 cats but he's certainly welcome .
Just want to say that if is there anything that we can do please let us know and stop by if it's all possible .

Enjoy your stay in Az.
Hello from Kingman, Az! I heard Tucson got snow.
Hi Zeni, We are 2 weeks ahead on our videos and are currently in Texas....getting snowed on again 😂 It would be an honor to meet you sometime! We enjoy sharing stories with people we meet along the way. 😀
Was wondering if you had website for prints. Have one for my landscape, I use Smugmug interested to see how you like Etsy going forward.
It's too early to tell if we like Etsy for pictures. Carrie wants to know how you like Smugmug so far? 😀
@@oneadVANtureatatime So far good. The prints I have made I have liked and have had compliments on the ones that have sold. It takes shipping and printing out of my hands. I lose profit margin, but it becomes a more passive income stream.
Wow, you could have stayed up north for that weather.
I know right?! To day we are in Southern Texas and it was 4 degrees this morning with snow on the ground 😂
Ha,, I thought ( at the beginning) the dog was gonna run right off into Mexico without turning around!
okay...I'm not the sharpest tack, as they say, but I dont see the link to your etsey store. you know I've been wanting to get some of your pictures : ). please help
Yeah... I forgot to add that!!! Https://etsy.com/shop/adVANturephotography
I hope ya'll have moved on to warmer weather. Big Bend is looking dangerously cold this week.
It was 4 degrees this morning and snow on the ground. 😂
@@oneadVANtureatatime you crazy kids!!! we've been in a monsoon in Georgia. Moving a little further south today.
