I liked your video and decided to paint my own pots. I bought the sealer you recommended. The label indicated it was combustible, toxic and carcinogenic. I did use it on a couple pots. I wore gloves. It had a very strong odor. I decided to discard it even though it was kind of expensive.
What a great idea! I think it’s beautiful what you have done, looking forward to seeing more of your ideas.I have FND and my hands shake a lot so I can’t paint a straight line at all and you have come up with the most simple idea with using masking tape! Thank you for sharing your idea! I feel kind of silly for not thinking of this! 🤪🤪🤪
I watched a UA-cam video about 4 yrs ago and sealed and painted pots . They still look good ! Save money by using left over paints from your walls or leftover paint samples.
Also a second query pl.. Do share wat paint to use if thr is a request fr planters fr outdoor usage. Balconys r so much outdoors ... I am thinking of using white washing paints....
Hi! I’m an eco therapist about to host a pot-painting class in conjunction with a wine &wax one. I’m using the small 2-3” pots and 20 of them. I want to seal the inside and outside before the class. I don’t think we have time to apply a sealant over the paint unless you can suggest something fast-drying. Ideally I’d like to spray paint them in the prep with something quick and easy and we will be potting them. I see all the suggestions in the comments and listed in the description, but so many! What would you use in this situation? Thanks
@@oioioi_Studio Great! Then we paint on top of it and I tell them to seal over the paint at home? Thank you! Love your work! May I show a photo to the group for examples and inspiration?
Lovely work! you are very talented!!! I have a question. Besides sealing before and after painting what is the lacquer you have listed used for?? I don"t see you using it in this video. Is it neccesary? please asap. Thank you!!!
I want to paint all my plants like that but problem is they are filled up..what will be the process then ..coz if the sealer has to be applied inside as well
Hello....can i use plastic paint as a base color for pot after sealing and then use acrylic color on them for making design ? or should i just use only acrylic color for base after sealing the pot ?
Hi if using the rust oleum spray sealer instead of the 511 one you showed here, how would that change the process? The rust oleum looks like it’s a finishing spray? Would I still use it before painting? Thank you in advance!
Im used them both on different pots and it looks like they working the same. And the presses i do is the same with the spray one. First sealing then painting and then seal again
I am having problems with streaking lines/ thin colors. I have to redo it over and over to get solid color. Is that what you use acrylic medium for? Your color goes over the blue so well. Mine does not! What am I doing wrong?
Hi Jessi need your advise for the triple thick crystal clear glaze the brand I bought is Krylon. Do I need to spray on the pot before painting and after painting?
You painted this pot so nicely, I love it, beautiful, I thought those were stickers on your second pot, I also have a channel where I paint glass jars and I am looking for other crafters to follow so I subbed, I am The Jam Jar Junkie 🙂🧡
This is water based paint or oil based paint?..I asked since you are sealing the pot to start with...that totally beats the point of using a terracota pot for plants...
I'm using acrylic paint, and yes as soon as you seal the pots they can't "breathe" anymore. If you won't seal them you will have bubbles all over your painting and it will ruin it
@@oioioi_Studio I am facing the same problem...but if we seal them waterproof then the soil doesn't absorb water vapour anymore and it becomes a very heavy plastic pot for plants😔..I am using mutiple coats hoping that the bubles formed doesn't burst and then during the summer months it goes back to being the same...not a perm fix but will keep you updated about the longivity!
Do you realize once you "seal' the pot it's no longer a Terracotta pot, per se, in that it no longer "breathes". In general, plants LOVE terracotta pots for their clay qualities, like breathaility. However a sealed Terraacota pot becomes the equivalent of a plastic pot. So the sealing and painting of the pot, from the plants point of view, "YUCK!"
They're both awesome! My favorite is the 1st one
Oh I was looking for this video. Great video. I have painted the pots & because rainy season is coming I need to protect my pots

I am thinking of using white washing paints....
Amazon is out of the laquer you used. Can you recommend another one please? There are so many, I can’t choose.
Can you also use the 511 on ceramic or plastic containers
What sealant did you use at the end of the video after finishing painting?
I am thinking to use water based varnish....as u r using
I'm using rust oleum gloss paint
This one is good

I recommend applying 3 layers
Is laquer good? My experience has been that oil varnish is discolour ng terracota over time....? Wud like ve to know ur experience?

The best is to seal the pots a few days before and then paint over them. Usually, the sealer needs 24 hours to dry

I think so too!
If you put these designs and patterns on an oversized sweater or tshirt - I WOULD WEAR IT.
Thank you! Why does the colour/paint crack when I seal with the rustoleum spray? Would you know.
What color do you use? And do you use sealer before painting?

Can you help me?? I used oil based undercoat but paint didn't stick. Soo. If I understand good I need use sealer than acrylic paints??
Yes exactly, first sealer and then acrylic

If I just seal the inside of the pot with sealant would it prevent air bubbles between paint and ceramic? or is also doing the outside necessary?
Im doing them both just to make sure

Yes and thank you!

But maybe i will do in the future

Do you have to sand down the pot? I'm getting a terracotta decoration that if I sanded it down it'll lose its detail
You could sand it down, but you don't have to. I'm personally not doing this
@oioioi_Studio thank you so much for responding! I appreciate it immensely!!
What is that thing that you used in creating the small dots, it doesn't look like a brush. Nice creations:)
Thank you and yes it's not a brush it just a plastic tool i have but you can use a pencil or something pointy
@@oioioi_Studio thank you for responding:)
I was about to ask the same thing! 🤩
Which sealant did you used before you paint the pots?
Hey, i used this one amzn.to/2NTszP2
But you can use also a spray sealer amzn.to/2ZHBsAV

Hi, Can we use primer instead of sealer for waterproofing ?
I don't think the primer will make the best work with waterproofing the pot

Is this waterproof.. when i watering to plants everyday it becomes small bubble and pealing colors.. and what is sealer?
Yes, this te what apebefo If you don't seal the pots before coloring

What sealer.made.of ?
What will happen if I didn't get to place a coating inside and outside the pot before painting?
You probably will get air bubbles between the outside of the pot and the paint
@@oioioi_StudioOmy! I realized I should have watched UA-cam videos first before painting the pot.
