Why do I see so many people put a screw in the bottom. I hate showing screws. Like just add a slight bend to your bottom flap by hand so when you fit them together outer piece stays snug and looks great without an ugly screw that will invariably increase the chance of a leak

Why do people put the cut tabs on the outside? Ok way to do it but I wouldn't want it like that on my house.

Just use an template buddy and measure the corners add 1/4 of an inch if needed and then cut the rest off. The tabs are supposed to go inside that's why its called seamless. And use more screws on the corner. It'll open up like a present on Christmas when the winter comes.

Your corners open up like a Christmas tree because you put the tabs on the inside. If the tabs are on the outside they don't slice through the sealant when you get thermal expansion. 2 pan heads in the tab on the fascia, one centered on the bottom, and one on top and your corners will seal 99.5% of the time.

@@TheFuelInjected tabs on the outside? You are the definition of trash in this trade, people please have the tabs on the inside and screw with 5/8 screws in the same colour of the gutter. Screw the corner in 3 places and 1 on the inside with a screw going through both pieces into the fascia. Use KOP-R-LASTIC caulking and don’t think about the corners for at least 15 years I’ve seen gutters that don’t leak for at least 30-40 years and the tabs are on the inside. You are changing the gutters for efficiency and the looks.

@@pj3717 Yeah that wouldn't work in Northern climates where you get temperature swings of between -40 to plus 40 degrees Celsius. That's why most professional installers in most climates put the tabs on the outside. I totally get why you disagree with this for aesthetic reasons, I've seen some nasty looking tabs on the outside, but if you take pride in your work it's not hard to make the tabs look factory and also end up with a functional eavestrough product that you can guarantee in any climate.

metal warps and flexes over time with changing temperatures. its a thin piece of metal bent into angles. this will eventually look pretty bad. there is a more professional way of doing corners that is more time consuming but LASTS and looks better than chewed up metal. sorry but this has gotta be a 4/10 job. but hey if the price is right?

Hack butcher! That is not how a professional craftsman does a mitre! Any mitre, any angle can be cut on the ground with one side having tabs, and other side smooth. The two pieces will fit together perfectly. This guy should never attempt doing copper on a multimillion dollar house, or attempt intalling half round gutters!

    • @alexanderstevens145

How do you do half round gutters do you have tabs on one side like these colonial gutters? Thanks

I never cut tabs on the inside or outside of an outside corner but I also use a template. If anyone can put up two square pieces of trough on a house and cut a corner on the fly, they have skill, regardless of their style.

He did that like he's done it a MILLION Times. Awesome. HOWEVER...NEVER EVA do an Instructional Video Without Proper Saftey Gear. Doing TIN Work WITHOUT Gloves is NOT good on this type of Video.
