    I remember having to work on the Wacker RC Rollers..... They had this one hose, that ran from front drums to the rear drums. That hose always wore a hole in it, and it was quite the repair to undertake. Those things were always in demand, when I worked for that Heavy Equipment Rental Company.

      That doesn't sound like fun fixing that

      @@DLHFarms It never was..... The drums had to come off on one side, front and rear. Then the plates behind the drums had to be removed. It was just a big pain in the arse.

    I do like that little rig, seems well designed. I do like those kinda machines with remote controls. I've used a few stump grinders in my time and by far the best are the remote ones, if nothing else, for being able to see what your working on

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  5 років тому +1

      Yep I can see how a stump grinder would definitely benefit from a remote control.

    Cool little unit. What would do a better job and what costs more, That roller or a tamper on the end of an excavator ? Thanks.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  5 років тому +1

      They both have their place and probably equally priced.

    • @ArthurDentZaphodBeeb
      @ArthurDentZaphodBeeb 5 років тому +1

      Not a chance they cost the same . That Bomag is $$$$ - obscenely overpriced for what it is. A vibratory plate on an excavator will bury those Bomags - easily do 20x more compaction with a vibratory plate because you can do far deeper lifts - Bomag's struggle to get compaction over 6" lifts. A vib plate can easily get compaction on 12" and thicker lifts.

      My brother left it laying on the track of our pc88 and walked over it. We don’t let anyone lay it anywhere except in the roller cubby or the pickup when we leave now or it’s ass chewing time. It’s been a good one though and we use it pretty regularly. It’s nice if you have the extensions too because you can actually do a house pad if you have to.
