I remember having to work on the Wacker RC Rollers..... They had this one hose, that ran from front drums to the rear drums. That hose always wore a hole in it, and it was quite the repair to undertake. Those things were always in demand, when I worked for that Heavy Equipment Rental Company.
That doesn't sound like fun fixing that
@@DLHFarms It never was..... The drums had to come off on one side, front and rear. Then the plates behind the drums had to be removed. It was just a big pain in the arse.
Sounds like it.
That's a nice little unit Dennis, it looks to save a lot of headaches using a walk behind. Thanks for showing it.
Yeah it's much better!
I do like that little rig, seems well designed. I do like those kinda machines with remote controls. I've used a few stump grinders in my time and by far the best are the remote ones, if nothing else, for being able to see what your working on
Yep I can see how a stump grinder would definitely benefit from a remote control.
Until you stand in front of it as you can see and she decides to throw a stone out 😂. Oh and I hope you had a good Xmas and new year 👍
Lol yeah that wouldn't be good
They work very good, I learned the hard way, you have to be like 20’ away from the roller to start it. Thanks for sharing
This one says 5 foot but it's more like 10
You only need to be 10' away from the roller. It a safety feature.
Dammmm fine piece of equipment and an added safety bonus down in deeper excavations
Yep exactly!
Happy New Year Dennis great little addition to your tool box
Thanks Happy New year!
I was wondering how that job ended up. Thanks for the update. Stay safe!
Yeah I meant to put this up a long time ago
I can in the future all equipment will be operated that way. You will be able to sit in the field trailer with nice cool drink in one hand and the controller in the other!
Thanks for sharing the video Sir!
Yep,the perfect world where everyone gets big and fat and lazy....LOL
Brian Swezey , ain’t that the truth!!! You hit the nail right on the head!!👍
Not really looking forward to that day
The new machine is nice ,from a person that has run a big sheep foot roller and tried rolling in areas really too big for the machine, this would come really handy
Yep this does the trick for ditches and tight areas.
Give you a little tip and you may already know it but the easiest way to cut fabric like you have in the whole is to use a hand held torch let me guess remote control compactor about 25k
Never tried a torch on it. 32k
@@DLHFarms utilility knives full to quickly
Definitely a handy little tool to have around!
👍yep
That vibratory double drum compactor roller will pay for itself soon.
That is a great roller.
I agree we have been running it every day on our new job.
that's a cool bit of kit you have there.
Thanks 👍
good morning Dennis. great video as always. stay strong, stay safe out there and take care fella.
Awesome machine and video
Thanks Jan
"Spiffy "little guy. Don't need one, but want one. Thank you!
It is a neat little rig if you need one.
Hey Dennis. Great working video. Enjoyed watching them work. Like watching TV. Thanks 🙏
Lol thanks Ronald!
DLH Farms hey. Can’t wait for next video. I bet u got lots to edit still.
Love to see more of what you’ll do around there. Thanks 🙏
Yeah I got more coming when I get time to edit it.
Wow that’s pretty cool!
👍
That sure beats walking around behind one all day. They never moved fast enough for me. Least the plate compactor that I've used for preparing a slab of concrete.
I know what you mean I've walked many a mile behind those slow things. Lol
that one fitted with a snowblower would be cool, not overly useful, just cool :D
Lol!
I want one for Christmas!! There's only 352 more shopping days left!
Lol!
So is that what we saw in yesterday’s video getting carted off by an excavator? Pretty neat little unit.
Yep that was it
That's a sharp tool to have
Yes it is.
happy new year dennis to you and all your family, looks like it do a great job and a lot more safer that standing behind it also, handy where you can drive it 35ft below ground
Yeah it's a much safer unit. Happy New year!
Ok I need one take my money!
Lol!
Very interesting, enjoyed watching. Thank you
Thanks for watching Mike!
why doesn't some toy manufacturer make a copy of this machine? I know that when I was a child, I would have loved to have something like this.
👍
Cool price thinking I could handle that one see ya Napa mike
Love the construction videos
Good deal 👍
interesting video thanks for sharing Dennis
Your welcome!
How is the center of gravity? I imagine the backfill needs to be fairly level to prevent it from rolling over.
Cool little unit. What would do a better job and what costs more, That roller or a tamper on the end of an excavator ? Thanks.
They both have their place and probably equally priced.
Not a chance they cost the same . That Bomag is $$$$ - obscenely overpriced for what it is. A vibratory plate on an excavator will bury those Bomags - easily do 20x more compaction with a vibratory plate because you can do far deeper lifts - Bomag's struggle to get compaction over 6" lifts. A vib plate can easily get compaction on 12" and thicker lifts.
Hopefully won't have to do this project again, that roller must have cost a pretty penny. I try to encourage you with my comments.
We shouldn't have too. Thanks for the encouragement. Lol
Your welcome sir. I encourage you to check out my contient
Ok
Nice machine.
Thanks!
Hey Dennis you could use it to roll yr yard while you set on yr porch !! Lol
Lol yeah I could
In case you’re wondering what it costs to run over that remote it’s $3500. Ask me how I know.
Oh no! Bad day?
My brother left it laying on the track of our pc88 and walked over it. We don’t let anyone lay it anywhere except in the roller cubby or the pickup when we leave now or it’s ass chewing time. It’s been a good one though and we use it pretty regularly. It’s nice if you have the extensions too because you can actually do a house pad if you have to.
Yeah I've done that to a grease gun. oops
What does the other half cost (actual roller unit)?
32k
That's pretty cool. Wish you had a link to that thing to look it up
It's a Bomag BMP 3500
Another great video.
I'd like to see more on the compactor what type of grade can that handle
Only thing I don’t like about them little compactors if you get too close to them they stop running
It's so you don't run over yourself haha
Did y’all get compaction tested on this particular job ? ..
No wasn't required. But we are on the job we're on now.
Nice
Thanks!
Nice vid.....😁
Thanks 👍
👍
nice job on the video, how much does the compactor weigh? thanks for posting.
About 3500 pounds
4:16 thats old loader
Yes it an old 953 had it for many years. It's got 14,000 + hours
Nice unit right there. What size lifts can it handle?
Depends on the dirt but 8 to 12 inches.
Lol and here I thought they were making you drive the excavator and run the bogman??? Multi task or budget cuts?? Lol
drive the excavator????
Lol you can operate it from the excavator but I wouldn't suggest doing both at once.
Much safer for deep excavation.
320b tht a long reach?
Yes it's a long reach. Only thing that would dig deep enough to reach the pipe we had to repair
long reaches trucker asks how do you want me to park for this load. answer one city block over.
They have a place I just don't care for them
Lol
'nother cool toy? man, that's starting to get a little annoying there Dennis. lol
Sorry we got this a few months ago just forgot about the video I made of it
How does that have any weight to pack
It does just fine that's what it was designed to do. If you use it correctly and put in the proper depth lifts of dirt it passes compaction tests with 100 percent compaction. We are being compaction tested on the job we are on now.
Pretty good. Keep up good videos see u in spring for more top soil
Sounds good
How are you today?? I love absolutely love your channel. Have you ever watched letsdig18 here on you tube. Letsdig18 check him out. Reminds me of your channel a lot
Awesome thanks for loving the channel. Yes I've watched some letsdig
I think that might work well in some of the homeless camps on the west coast.
Bahaha what the heck.
👍
