I just meant stable in terms of "stable NTU" or "stable turbidity" because at room temperature you wouldn't expect some substances to have turbidity that changes (I.e. formazin)
If calibrated right, they should read the same value..... Things to look out for when calibrating is hysteresis, accuracy, repeatability, and being linear curves, linearity. Transducer calibration constants can float too over time.
I am sorry this does not have anything to do with your sensor. I have an idea that I think may utilize magnetic force in a generator and I hope to hear your thoughts. The idea is to build an assembly of symmetrically spaced magnets that are bisected by a ferrous plate that can be polarized to utilize opposing magnet force in a rotor optimized for leverage and momentum. The rotor is then used to turn a generator and the assembly is tested for efficiency. The idea is to make a more efficient generator by utilizing leverage, momentum and magnetic force. I came up with the idea after realizing I could put two opposing magnetic heads together without effort using a ferrous plate. I have been unable to construct an electromagnet that would be suitable for the purpose and none are commercially available. It may not even be possible or efficient enough to be useful. I do not know. Any ways, you seem like the right person to push this towards and I hope it is an idea you find inspiring. Either way, I would love to hear what you think.

Might not help, but it can't hurt: leads carrying the signal from the sensor should be short and twisted together to prevent magnetic coupling of noise; place a capacitor of a few hundred nF as close as possible to the power leads of the sensor to prevent any sharp changes in supply voltage from the digital signals; perhaps a stupid suggestion but check the rise and fall times of the outgoing signal - if the lowpass filters frequency is set too low the transition might be too slow and thus cause the uC to not always measure at the same spot on the signal. Nice video as allways.
When i was studying opto-electronics I realize that the most annoying thing it's the ambient light, also those wires that arduino kits have are crap. You should use an oscilloscope to see the pure signal coming out from the light receptor(signalA), and connect the second channel to the output of the low pass filter(signal B); using the function x-y(signalA-signalB) of the oscilloscope you can see the waveform of the error. Finally my advice it's work in stages for example first check the raw signal, second after the filter, third the processing part.

I'm most interested in renewable energy especially wind, photovoltaics and batteries but I'm just not sure what field would be best for this. I've really looked into mechanical but I'm not sure if they work on this kind of stuff. I would just like some advice on what would be best!
Hey Abby! Great question. To be honest, all/most engineering fields are involved in those topics. Chemical engineers work in batteries but also hydrogen and batteries. Electrical engineers work in all that stuff. Also mechanical. I would just go for the subjects that interest you the most and make sure you can take some "power" or "energy technology" classes in your final years (make sure your program offers this) :)

I suggest you try not to use those jumpers( the cables you use for the arduino) or at least make them as short as possible. I would try to use utp cable and then not use a protoboard but build my own pcb to minimize the noise :) keep working hard ✨❤️
