Yay daily gratitudes! :D Cool to watch you start this new adventure :)
"My beauty routine is pretty minimalist"
Says every girl in a college related vlog ever.
Hello fellow scientists, for those who feel a bit tired in the morning after waking up, you should drink a glass of water as the very first thing and instead of coffee, try to eat an apple or some dates. And just do a simple breathe in and out for 5-10 mins or just a simple strech. You will never feel tired again.
Hey Jess, first of all, congrats on your journey of the PhD studies. Watching your vlogs kinda remind me of my first week, heaps of stuff to learn and prepare from the scratch and trust me, time flys like crazy, I can't believe that I am already done half of my PhD research now. First-year of a PhD research is very important and hopefully, you can work your way out ASAP and successfully pass your confirmation. Cheers!!
I completed my Ph.D. last year (Feb 2019) and never had this much time for the makeup in the morning or breakfast.
It was nice to see this video and remember my 1st day as a Ph.D. scholar.
best wishes
congratulations on starting your PhD journey! your videos have always been fun and motivating to watch as a fellow woman in stem :') I'm a bioengineer from the US and I just finished the first semester of my master's program in belgium (i also dedicate my commute to duolingo, memrise, and podcasts for language learning lol)
Hope your PhD is going well this semester!!! :) loved this vdeo!
Congratulations for your PhD study, cheers from ECUADOR!!!
wowow! Ecuador! Thank you so much and greetings from Switzerland:)
Marco Farez de que es su doctorado? No he entendido nada 😂
Aah I’m looking forward to your PhD Vlogs!! 👏👏👏
thank you! I'm looking forward to sharing them:)
I’ve just completed and received approvals on all 5 chapters of my dissertation. Hopefully I’ll be scheduled to defend in a few weeks. It took me 7 years and I’ve been in a total fog until now. Best of luck to you!
your daily vlogs are my FAVORITE. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Congratulations, Rivertechjess. I'm defending my dissertation in April. Wishing you well on your journey.
thank you! And wishing you all the best in your defence!
Best way of luck. Hopefully I’ll be defending in a few weeks.
Jess : PhD
Me: No qualification but still watch
Good luck. I completed my PhD in 2006 (CS, math, EE). Just wanted to do a driveby best-of-luck. :)
You shifted to environmental engineering from mechanical engineering over time. A video talking about the entire journey would be pretty cool!
love the simple bullet journal!!! will definitely consider this in the future :o (for now, I'm too overwhelmed to start a new organizational method)
You should def get on the BoJo life!! I'm obsessed but completely understand if you're overwhelmed atm. good luck with all you need to do!
im telling mom u have a nose ring
don't
RiverTechJess so 2015
So you are moving from combustion-focused master's thesis to building a sensor for sediment? Very challenging for sure
I love your videos because it motives me to do my bachellor degree thesis! I studied Fluid Mechanical Engineering. Regards from Peru! :)
freshman engineering student, love it when i can find other female engineers that are v relatable and give fantastic advice !:)
Your flat looks really nice! Best of luck to you with your PhD!
thank you! I worked hard on organizing it but I still have many plans:) Not sure if I should film it🤔
hey keep us updated and keep posting
clicked as it randomly popped up on UA-cam without an interest. As soon as you mentioned downloading matlab and python you had my attention hahah
Good to see you🤗
it's good to be here:)
For bullet journal, just use Reminder app on IPhone.
A question that it is not that discreet (and polite):What is the monthly stipend given to you by ETH during the Phd?
Congratulations!
thank you!:D
Jess can you please share the podcasts you listen and how do you practise German (the applications you use etc)? Thank you!
Congrats for your phd 👏👏i love your videos ❤i have a BEng in aerospace and i am now doing my MSc in Mechanical-mechatronics engineering and i am interested in persuing a Phd when i get my masters. I would like your advice on whether is better to go stright to phd or if it is better working somewhere and then pursuing a phd ? I would also like to learn in which uni you are studying your phd ❤
Continue 🤩
ok
Great video!
How is the Ph.D research there?
For instance, here in Brazil, the PhD student do the research about only one topic during the 4 years. Is there the same?
Yes! It's the exact same:)
Yay a fellow python and r user. Have you just started out or you already have some experience with these languages? I work with python a lot and just started learning r. I find it so weird or maybe I'm just too attached to python. By the way which one is your favorite?
Hello! One question: is this an industrial PhD or a PhD at university?
Thank you for your videos! They are inspiring!
Congrats on your Phd program, my goal is also to get accepted in a program. Graduating this year and I love being a mechanical engineer.
keep rocking....
thanks and you too:)
my inspiration is on her first day of phd 🥺 sml 💕💕💕
thank so much for watching and supporting!!:)
PHD FTW!! ILY
THANK YOU!!!
Am starting my PhD Very soon !
Can you please suggest which is better to study in Technical university or University of Applied science, being a mechanical engineering student in bachelor's.(In Germany)
Hi, nice video. was it easy to find accommodation?
Is your place a student residence?
привееет!! счастливого пути, так классно, я бы тоже хотел!!
I love youu
python! awsome..

It's youtube not researchgate haha
@@Neorient duh!! I am forgetting this is on youtube not stackoverfloow..
I hope you are fine right now
Do all PhD students get the same type of office at DMAVT?
omg I’m a PhD student too!!! Heheh
Which college do u study??
Great..
From which University are u doing ur phd ?
How young are you?
Does a car vehicle oxygen sensor have to do anything with suspended sediment? Fart..
Am I really first? (Dips toe in)👀
youuuu aarrreeee:D
What is your University?
What's your phd about?
creating a sensor to do a landscape scale investigation of suspended sediment transport
@@RiverTechJess come on....that was such a PHDish answer ! Tell us what that means ! Not just try and confuse us ! ;)
Do you think gender effects getting a job in engineering, especially as a girl finding a job in mechatronics.
Why u dont work as engineer yet?
Which Uni are you doing PhD?
Pretty sure its eth zürich
Are you sure you really need makeup? You look great without it!
thank you:)
Greetings from Pakistan
Wish I could do anything and not kill myself but.
I was a survivor of a PhD and it was not that bad. I travelled around the globe many times. Science is not the most important thing. Love is.
Wait... a PhD student has a life?
pole
A cute girl waking up in the morning is automatic male likes. Hangover?
Wished you had film those parts. :/
