I lean on my pro shop to take care of the analytics. I tell them what I’m looking for and the spot I’m trying to fill and they work their magic. That being said I don’t change up my layouts too much just find a spot for the balls in my bag. Currently bring my gem, physix, fate and spare ball to league. Works well for my home center.
I'm not an analytical layout guy, but I do know what I want each ball to do. If I need a ball in my bag to go longer and snap harder, I'll tell my pro shop guy to drill it up, and it does exactly what I want it to.
6:04 Definitely feel for me. Also I just got the infinite in November for SYC Florida and am loving it so far, definitely a rounder smoother shape useful for medium patterns. As a 2 hander I find it very useful when everything is hooking too much and I need something a little less angular.
Great video! I would love to see a video on how you polish these balls, what grit pads you start with and the specific compounds or polishes you use...and how it might be different for different covers.
Got a good pro shop guy that knows how I throw the ball. I don’t ask too many questions they all do what I expect them to do.
Feel during League, analytical when practicing. Coming from a golf background I’ve learned to shut the left brain thinking off when I want to score well.
6:04 100% feel here. Not quite sure I have two balls with the exact same layout but I can figure them all out anyway.
Definitely analytical. I record stats from every shot in league, and have a spreadsheet I plug all of it into. That helps me plan out practice plans for the next week.
Bowling always about the feel to me. I haven’t understood nothing technical about Ball layout yet and I been bowling league for 5 years. I adapt to what my ball doing on different lanes and go for more or less hooking action based off my speed for that day.
I’m definitely a feel player right now. I’m trying to be more analytical to help with consistency, but just takes time and study
I'm super analytical and I think it hurts me sometimes because I over think everything on the lanes
just hit pins lol
Welcome to the club my friend 😂😂😂
That’s me. I end up hitting 40pts lower than my avg when I over think
That's why I think bowling is 80% mental and 15% physical and 5%luck
I just got this one drilled I've had it for like 6 months and I needed something for long oil and this ball is perfect
Analytical player for me, always looking for different layouts on balls because I throw 12lb balls I'm not strong enough to throw 14 to 16lb balls yet, so I go for the strong coverstock balls and have different layouts to match my game style.
One more thing, I was surprised that you didn't use RSTX-2 to compare it with the Exotic Gem.
I would like to see the 2 gems out of the box without any polishing or doctoring it. I have the Gem and really like it.
I don’t know what my layout is. I just tell pro shop guy what I’m looking for and he takes care of it. Current league bag is Gem, Zen, and Night Road. Sometimes swap out the Gem for Infinite Physix
I would say I'm fanalytical. Feel first, with some analytics sprinkled in.
I use the exact same layout on all balls, 50x3.5x35, but I use surface to tune how early or clean I want the behavior to be from there. Usually this will come down to the house I'm playing in and the general characteristics of said house.
Decent mix. Try to fill with right numbers but I've got to have a feel for what it really does compared to the rest, sometimes the numbers do not match up to what my eyes see and actual reactions are. Might be my delivery with said equipment, but regardless got to match up with it
I’m def a feel player. I couldn’t tell you layout either. Just throw it and see how it reacts n figure it out from there
I think the exotic gem with reduced ball speed looked the best on the titanium 44 ft. I believe it was called.
I've mentioned to other people before the problem I have with the gym and the exotic gym is just the way the coloring looks when it's going down the lane.
It's distracting so that I can't see the way the ball is rolling as well as with solid balls and with balls with a different pattern.
I do think the exotic gem works well in a lot of situations. I just wish it didn't look that way lol.
I prefer multi-colored balls specifically because you can see the roll. My first ball was a Johnny Petraglia LT-48 which was a black rubber ball. You couldn't see a thing.
@@drwisdom1 multiple colors depending on the pattern can be really distracting to my eyes.
But I do agree that you can see how much rev is on the ball based on the multiple colors.
There's a lot of balls that have multiple colors that I still like. It's just the Gem and a few others that really don't look appealing to me.
Hey guys great video!!! I’m a feel player. What grit did you polish the Gem to??The Exotic Gem is finished to Reactive Gloss so what grit is that compares too??
Cool tech bowling bowling ball roto grip exotic gem with Nano technology in the bowling ball more strike hitting power at time Jr pro shop
I am having results with hybrids on house oiling, and not sure if that is a good thing. My arsenal consist mostly hybrids and they work so well on oily to mild dry, finding reasons to use my solids
Analytical for sure. BTW I have an RST x-2, Exotic Gem and an Infinite Physix NIB In the garage. Already have the OG Gem I used polished on house. Are they different enough to drill all three or no ? I do play on sport shots In regionals too.
I definitely am more of someone who just feels what it right and makes changes based off of it rather than being analytical about my layout and other things. I do have my layout based off of how I bowl to help give me the best chance but other than that I just make adjustments based off of how I'm feeling
I’m definitely a feel player who’s trying to get more analytical. So what is the difference between compound and polish and when should you use them? Thanks…
I am more of a feel player. Jungo how would you compare the exotic gem to the Rxt3, since you like the Rxt line? I am speed dominant player with average revs am trying to decide between the two.
I love my Axiom pearl but it was canceled. Does the Exotic Gem qualify as a replacement.
Finally 4k!
I am an 83 year old long time bowler and love to keep up to date on new equipment. My issue is that most of us viewing your reviews do not have the ability or strength to deliver a shot like you guys; so what I (we) see is really meaningless. I would like to see someone with "less ability" test balls which would give me a much better idea of what equipment would fit into my game. Just slip in an old timer from time to time as a comparison.
In that case you should watch "Laneside Reviews". They have a couple of high revving analysts who throw super strong balls, but also a 60'ish dad type who strokes the ball down lane about 12 miles per hour and with very minimal revs. Yeah, he bowls like a typical old guy. If you watch him throwing the new balls, you might get a better idea of how balls would perform for you.
@@Ironfangzu Thank you for the reply and suggestion
A feel. I get all my equiptment drilled the same then figure it out.
im both lowkey but im a new bowler im only 2 months in so im tryna find myself
im analyzing and getting a feel but overall ill try to analyze
Radical rattler review coming? Looks very similar to the venom shock.
I'm still fairly new, not super analytical. I tell my PSO what I want the ball(s) to do and he delivers. I just have to execute.
Surface 3000 grit I presume?
Your layout 30 x 51/4 x 35 is very interesting. How did you choose this layout?
I am very analytical. I have a notebook that contains all relevant data relating to layout and bowling ball specifications.
I have the Exotic Gem. Layout 60 x 4 x 40. I wish I had chosen a more aggressive layout like 50 x 33/4 x 30. Nonetheless, I like the ball very much.
I'm a mixture of both. I watch a lot of videos and try to apply what I learned. However, my skill level is not the same, so my execution is not good yet.
I’m a storm roto guy but Jungos music is so good it makes me wanna buy every ball lol!
I am more of a feel player I am learning slowly about layouts I like 5x4x2 layouts I don't understand mg of diff get maybe you can help
What layout would that be on the pin buffer
should have compared it to the rst x3 too would’ve been amazing
I'm a feel player. I watch what my ball does and go by that.
What grit did you polish the gem at?
I let my pro shop guy do that I don’t know what kind I would be I just keep eye on what bowling balls seem interesting and good to me
Jungo is back!
Physics don't lie... my arsenals started making sense the second I learned and started paying attention to the science😁
Can you do a video with the exotic gem and the rstx2
Blend of both. Enough knowledge of the gear to understand what it should do, but ultimately rely on what’s happening in real time to make adjustments based on feel, even if it goes against what I should be seeing.
Same here
That's the point to where I'd like to get to
Wow after looking at the 3 balls on the longer pattern I’d have to go with rolling the 1st original Gem being polished it looked a lot better than a solid Gem. But I do like the exotic gym because it has that color in it. That’s different than the original Gem
The color isn't what makes it perform
@@larryhudson1963 Man I know this I was being funny about the two gems being different colors. That’s all. Funny
Shelf appeal wise I like the Exotic Gem
I only have Motiv balls. But this Exotic Gem has my attention.
Pure feel for me.
Definitely analytical. I just changed my PAP with a much better release and track. Now that everything is so much stronger, I have to re-drill my gear on a new layout to get the look I need. 😂😂.
Try changing the surface first instead of redrilling your old gear
@@newsense636 I have. My Zen burns up and dies on me when I do and not enough polished....it was a dramatic change. I'm going to sadly say this, but I bowl one-handed with no thumb and my track at the beginning was beneath my fingers, horizontally. Now it's vertical and left of my fingers. Much better release and more roll. Unfortunately some of my stuff like my hustle wine is now at a 3" pin haha. It's that kind of change.
I use the force to play. Trying to be more analytical though.
Exotic gem vs parallax effect??
BARKS!!! Hey wait a minute......You're not Barks. :) :) :) Not a Storm guy but this ball does look good to me. Well done Jungo.
Feel player but i do want to go towards analytical moving forward
All my balls have the same layouts on them it helps me see the difference between them
I am analytical player each bowl I put in my bag goes by my pen where I have everything at 60 x 4 1/2 x 30 or another number all my balls are put in by Numbers position up or down and when I’m Bowling on 7:26
What kind of polish are you using??
Storm Reacta Shine
I’m definitely a feel bowler
Would the exotic gem be a good replacement for a Halo Pearl?
The RST X-2 is very similar to what the Halo Pearl was. More so than the Exotic Gem
@@jrproshop thank you!
Analogical. I like to know what works. Much easier to duplicate.
I'm learning the numbers side of it but I just tell the person that's drilling the ball I want it pin up and aggressive 😭😭
I’m more feel but like to be analytical so I don’t get lost.
Feel player, only because I don’t have a PSO that gets into the analytics
I’m more of a feel player keep the layouts simple
For house leagues and save the secret codes for the tourneys
I’m definitely extremely analytical!!!!
I'm a feel bowlers. I look to see How A Ball shapes and base my bag off of The Reaction I see
I'm a feel player as in I feel like quitting after league most nights lol
Feel
I think you have to be both. Make analytical decisions based on how u threw it.
Feel but trying to educate myself to be more analytical. Want to know how to better communicate what I want with my Pro Shop guy Will Clark
Jungo should kinda slim down alittle .. 😅😅😅
I'm pretty analytical, but I want to get away from that slightly bc I can think too much about things
Oh I suck at knowing layouts 🤣🤣🤣
More of a feel bowler.
I am neither a feel nor analytical player. I am a delegate player. I believe it is the pro shop operator's responsibility to bowl in the competitive leagues in their house. They study their bowlers style and shots. Then bowlers like myself can delegate ball selection and drilling layout to their pro. That is what you are buying when you walk into a pro shop. You don't want to be in a situation where the pro starts asking you about your shot. I am 66 and have been bowling in leagues for 43 years and that is what my much younger pro does for me. Last night I started with two 279s but choked the third game with a 184, oops.
Answer? None of that SPI gear
I’m a feeler player
Feel player
As long as it’s pin up idc where at 😂
Probably too analytical for a 200-210 average
Me like pin go up
Pin up good
Pin down bad
J.R been putting on some serious weight. Needs to lay off the nachos
Analytical, maybe too much so. Paralysis by analysis.
Just feel for me.
