- ,,,, McCormick-Deering flywheel engine built by the International Harvester Co,,, in order to set the crankshaft side play on this engine or anyone of the other types and brands (this is not a hit and miss engine,, it's a throttle governor engine),, you must move the flywheels inward on the crank to adjust for wear (some engines use shims), but first you got to get then gib keys out (heat?,, remember cast iron don't like to be over heated, use heat only as a last resort),,,, leave a comment, subscribe, pass it on, to be continued,, and I might add that to remove a key that is broken or cut off even with the wheel hub is one off the most challenging things to do on one of these old rusty, saved from the junk yard, just found in the barn,,, like new but worn out engines,,, but it's got to be done, that's when you get out the drill bit?,, leave a comment,
If you have it, leave it soaking in WD40 for a couple of hours to break the rust. Heating joint a bit could help as the expansion and contraction can break the rust bind. Great videos of real issues and solutions!
Great work. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for leaving video where your technique doesn't work the first time! It's good to see how you correct!
Excellent techniques for all of us that have suffered the woes of stuck wheels.
Thanks for all the videos Sam - learning lots.
Where abouts in the States are the most engines available. I live in
Canada and I've never seen any of the motors you work on up here.
Thanks Rod
Nice work.
I have a brownwall 3hp engine, should it have a choke? I't has a needle valve but refuses to suck up fuel.
