All Joker references aside - I had no idea that he was in Brother Bear. I absolutely adore this film. And he was not aggressive at all. The interviewer was extremely condescending, and he wasn't having it.

She was rude and aggravating. He was unimpressed and disinclined to be overly accomodating. He still gave an interesting, thoughtful and nuanced answer about working on the film.
What was rude? The guy had to spend a couple of minutes of his day to answer questions, and he blows her off like he's a fucking diva. He gave a canned answer as if he made some kind of deep philisophical decision to voice a fucking animated bear. He was contractually obligated to do this movie in order to do another movie. this movie is about a boy processing and healing from the death of his brother, something Joaquin Phoenix personally went through himself so this journalist being a bitch and making that first comment about needing the job because he needed money is a huge slap in the face. If she really knew anything about the actor or truly watched this movie she missed an opportunity to make that connection and have a good interview.

This interview actually proves how much of a professional JP is. After the journalist was aggressive to HIM he continued to answer her stupid questions despite the fact she obviously has something against him. I don't know what's happened "behind the scene" but the journalist is unfriendly and rude to Joaquin for some reason. Half of today's Hollywood in his place would just walk out of this interview.
